2 Easy Gingerbread Cookie Ornament Recipe (Makes 6 ornaments not for eating!) 1/2c Applesauce 1/2c Cinnamon 2T Household glue 1. Mix all ingredients together and roll on wax paper to 1/4-inch thickness. 2. Using a cookie cutter, cut out the shapes of the intended ornaments. 3. Poke a small hole in the top of the ornament using the end of a straw, knife, chopstick, small dowel, pencil, or similar object. 4. Allow ornaments to air dry for 1-3 days. 5. When ornaments are ready to be decorated they will be completely dry and very hard.

3 Advent Countdown Rings Directions: 1. Cut out the pattern below. 2. Trace onto red and green construction paper or any paper you choose. 3. Cut the rings out. 4. Write one item to do on the ring (for example: address cards, buy gifts, pray, sing carols, etc). 5. Secure the first ring with tape to make a circle. This is the anchor. 6. Continue to repeat item 4 on 24 more rings.

4 7. Interlock each ring making a long chain. You can cut out the circle above for the corresponding day and glue or tape it onto the paper link 8. Each day, take a link off and do the activity written on the inside.

8 Photo Ornaments Here is a nice selection of photo ornaments. Cut out these reindeer templates, cut out the circle from one of the ornaments, place your picture inside and then place the other one on the top so that your picture is sandwiched between. 11 Make Mini Paper Chains Paper Chains History: The paper chain consists of rings of colored paper glued together to form a chain for use in decorating a Christmas tree, banister, mantle piece, or doorway during the holidays. The paper chain, easy and fun to make, began in Victorian England. Why not make your own paper chains to decorate your Winter Holiday table? To make the chains like they did in Victorian Days: 1. Cut the construction paper into strips of desired size. The thicker the strips, however, the more paste it will take to hold them. 2. Mix flour and water in each bowl to make paste. Add more flour or water as needed to make paste thick but not lumpy. Note that the paste in bowl will solidify over time, so add more water as needed. 3. When paste is ready, apply about a half inch down on one end of a paper strip with a Q tip. Connect the strip to form a loop. Hold the paper together firmly for at least thirty seconds, so that it will stay glued. 4. Stick another strip of paper through the first paper loop. Repeat step 3 until chain is desired length. Let chain dry for several hours before hanging.

18 Gingerbread Man Paper Chains Remember Paper Doll Chains? Well, here s a variation with a gingerbread man. These look cute decorated and placed on the mantle or along a mirror. Supplies: Glue, glitter, googley eyes, paint, crayons, or markers Scissors Gingerbread man template Instructions: 1. Cut a long, rectangular piece of craft paper. We cut about a four inch wide strip of paper about two feet in length. 2. Fold the paper accordion style (back and forth, back and forth). Make the folds the width or a bit less than the template piece 3. Trace the template piece onto the top fold. 4. Cut out (don't cut the ends of arms or feet or your chain will fall apart!) 5. Unfold your chain and decorate with markers, paints, googley eyes, glitter, bits of and ribbon or anything else you have on hand.

19 Gingerbread Paper Doll Template Paper Snowflakes We love making these. They really get your brain working, trying to figure out how the cuts and angles that you make will look in the finished product. Supplies: White or colored construction paper Glue or glitter Scissors

20 Instructions: Use a square piece of paper. If not square, fold the paper and cut off the remaining excess. Fold into a triangle. Fold side A to side B, forming another smaller triangle. Take the right side of the triangle and fold towards the middle.

21 Take the left side and fold it to meet the right side. Your paper should now look like this. Cut off the excess (the striped pieces) so that you have a straight line at the bottom of the triangle. Cut out the desired shapes (the parts that are penciled in).

22 Your paper snowflake should now look like this. Open it up and you have a snowflake that looks like this. If desired, add some glue and glitter.

23 Gingerbread Man Air Freshener Here is a simple, fun and easy to make gingerbread man air freshener.. Supplies: Brown craft paper Glue, glitter, googley eyes, beads Scissors, ribbon or string, decorate beads Gingerbread man template Cotton balls and air freshener (gingerbread, sugar cookie, ect.) Instructions: 6. Using a pencil, trace the gingerbread man template onto two pieces of craft paper. If desired, use specialty scissors for a decorative edge. 7. Decorate the front of the gingerbread man. Apply a thin, decorate layer of glue along the edges and apply glitter. Adhere googley eyes and draw a mouth. Adhere beads or draw buttons along the front. 8. Moisten cotton balls with the air freshener and place between the two pieces of cutout paper. 9. Apply glue on inside of the bottom gingerbread along the perimeter. 10.Press the top to the bottom firmly until the two pieces adhere. 11.Allow to dry and hang up as an air freshener in your car, closet, or hang on the tree.
