2 Mother s Day Crafts for Children (Instructions) p1 of 3 Safety Tips: Keep scissors out of reach of children. Keep all glue caps, marker caps and other small items out of reach of children age 3 or under, as they are a choking hazard. Use nontoxic washable markers. Watch young children when they are using crayons, to be sure they don't put them in their mouths. Have an emergency plan in place in case of injury, ie. First Aid procedures. When instructions say for children 2-years-old+, it means children who have stopped putting things in their mouths. Color-My-Own Father s Day Cards Fun, Easy Father s Day Cards for Kids to Make! Supplies Card page 1 Card page 2 Father s Day stickers page Scissors (teacher only) Crayons Optional: Cardstock Stickers page Glue Craft Instructions Teddy Bear and Dog/Puppy Father s Day Cards - For children age 2+. Prep: Print card pages. Make copies of both pages onto copy paper (or make copies of page 1 onto cardstock). Cut off edges. Cut apart stickers. Craft: Kids color pictures and glue back of page 1 to back of page 2. Fold on dashed line. Optional: Color stickers and glue to inside of card. Father s Day Gift For Kids to Make Builder Bear Tools (Coupons) Craft Photo Supplies Craft Instructions Builder Bear pages 1-3 Stickers (optional) Card stock 12 X 18 Construction paper OR 11X17 copy paper Scissors (teacher only) Glue sticks Crayons / Pencils or fine-tip markers Tip: Remember not to glue behind the coupons rectangle. That s where the tools (coupons) will be inserted. Father s Day Gift / Card - For children age 2+. Prep: Print and make copies of Builder Bear pages onto copy paper. Cut off edges of pictures. Fold sheets of construction paper in half crosswise. Craft: Children color pictures and tools. Cut across the top of the coupons rectangle. Cut out tools for kids or just cut apart the pieces. Coupons: Help kids think of some things they want to give dad, and write them on the backs of the tools. (Go to to get ideas). Kids glue page 1 on outside, page 2 (with coupons) on inside, but don t glue behind the coupons part. Help kids sign their name and add stickers (Optional). Kids insert tools into coupons rectangle.

Photo Supplies Instructions Father s Day Puzzles Cardstock Scissors (teacher only) Crayons Envelopes Puzzles: For kids age 3+. For Colorillustrated Puzzles for Children s Activity: Prep: Print and make copies of puzzles onto cardstock. Cut off edges of puzzles, and cut apart puzzle pieces. Place pieces for each puzzle in a separate envelope. Activity: Give each child a template. Show them how the pieces fit on the template and fit together to make the picture. For Color-My-Own Black-and-white puzzles: Craft: Child colors Father s Day Puzzle. Fill out name blank (for Biggest Fan puzzle). Adult cuts it apart. Place pieces in envelope. Write: To Dad and child s name on the outside of envelope. Father s Day Gift for Children to Make: Desk Caddy Photo Supplies Instructions Desk Caddy craft page Cardstock, heavy Scissors (teacher only) Extra strength glue sticks Crayons Empty crayon box or other small box One of these: Fabric scraps OR Construction paper OR Patterned craft paper Gift Ideas: Pens, markers, pencils or lollipops (for candy gift) Father s Day Desk Caddy For kids age 3+ Prep: Print craft page, make copies onto card stock. Use 1 shirt as pattern: Cut out, place on construction paper or fabric; trace; cut out new ones. Box Cover: Cut rectangles out of construction paper or fabric big enough to go around box, and 1 taller than box. Craft: Children color craft page. Glue (fabric or paper) shirt onto bear. Place glue on box and press fabric (or paper) rectangle on top, flush with bottom, fold the extra 1 down over the top and glue to inside of box. Fold feet up to make bear stand. Glue box to front of bear. Glue arms to back of bear, fold around box, glue paws to sides of box. Tip: Recycle small boxes for this craft. Father s Day Gift: Framed Artwork Photo Supplies Instructions Father s Day coloring pages Copy paper Construction paper Crayons Scissors (teacher only) Framed Artwork For kids age 2+ Prep: Print coloring pages, Make copies onto copy paper or cardstock. Cut edges off. Craft: Kids color picture. Glue to sheet of construction paper, centered the edges are the frame. Quick, Easy Craft: This is a quick, easy personalized Father s Day craft even toddlers and preschoolers can make!

One brand is Crayola Model Magic TM) Waxed paper Children s fine-tip markers Cool Gift for Dad! - If you use Model Magic TM, the ball really bounces after it dries! Other Options - Kids can also make basketballs, colored bouncy balls, or multi-colored balls out of the clay. Bouncy Ball and Bat Gift Set for Dad: Prep: Give each child a sheet of waxed paper to work on. Write their name on the waxed paper. Show kids how to roll white modeling clay in hands to form a round ball. Show them how to roll the piece of colored dough flat on the tray to make a bat, making one end a bit bigger. Set each child s sculptures aside. Allow dough to dry. Help children make the baseball stitch lines and stiches with a marker, and write a message for dad on the ball. Idea: Give to dad with one of the Baseball bear cards: Biggest fan or Baseball Bear card.
