4 Relative received ligt strengt DAD5/5 Stability control Distance X [m] x Function Te DAD 5-8P can be used to transfer data words eigt bits wide bidirectionally. A device pair is required to set up a transmission route. One device is operated as te MASTER (ig level on te Master/Slave input) and te second one as te SLAVE (low level on te Master/Slave input). All binary control signals present in parallel on inputs D - D8 are converted serially into an 8-bit sequence in te device, are transferred over te ligt route and are again applied in parallel in te receiver to outputs D - D8. Interference-resistant PPM modulation is used to transfer binary signals. Te entire cycle during wic te two current 8-bit words are transferred one after te oter in bot directions, in te time multiplex procedure, lasts 5 ms. Tis corresponds to a data rate of 50 Baud. Tis time multiplex procedure is of no significance to te user, since te last data to be received is stored and is available on te outputs until te next cange is made. Output beaviour wen te beam of ligt is interrupted Te beaviour of te data outputs wen te ligt beam is broken can be adjusted wit te aid of te 4 switc (data latc): OFF: Data outputs are turned off wen te ligt beam is broken. ON: Te last data to be received remains intact on te outputs wen te ligt beam is broken. Input/output / emitter deactivation A ig level on te ENABLE input is required to operate te DAD5-8P. If tere is a low level on te ENABLE input, te emitter will be turned off. Te ENABLE input as no function in SLAVE mode. Inputs and outputs, reception indicator: Te states of data inputs and outputs are displayed individually via LEDs. A ig level on te input is indicated by a green LED. A red LED indicates an active output. Correct reception is indicated wit te output and te RE- CEPTION INDICATOR LED. Te SYNC output indicates te end of a transmit or receive cycle. 5 Caining Te SYNC output can also be used to start an additional EN- ABLE input. Up to four MASTERS can be cained togeter in tis manner. Te devices must ten be addressed by means of te A and A address switces. Te SLAVE belonging to te MASTER in question requires te same address switc setting. Arrangement and mounting Te DAD5 data ligt barrier consists of an electronics unit wit spring-loaded terminals and M6 cable glands. Te electronics unit is connected wit an internal connector.
