2 What is Crest Factr +? Fluke 805 FC with Crest Factr + takes the cnfusin ut f bearing assessment The riginal Crest Factr is used by vibratin analysts t identify bearing faults. It is defined as the rati f the peak value/rms value f a time dmain vibratin signal. A key limitatin f using Crest Factr t identify bearing faults is that the Crest Factr des nt increase linearly as the bearing degrades. In fact, the Crest Factr can actually decrease as a bearing nears catastrphic failure due t large RMS values. In rder t vercme this limitatin, Fluke uses a prprietary algrithm knwn as Crest Factr + (CF+). CF+ values range frm 1 t 16. As the bearing cnditin wrsens, the CF+ value increases.
