Respnses will be accepted at the Klein Independent Schl District Purchasing Department lcated at 7200 Spring Cypress Rad, Attn: Lisa Turner, Klein, Texas, until 2:00 p.m., July 24, 2017, per the directins n the cver letter. This RFI prcess will nt result in a cntract award. Each vendr s respnse is requested as a digital sft cpy n a standard CD-ROM readable r USB flash drive, in either MS Wrd r PDF frmat. The respnses shall be mailed t the address prvided abve and will be retained by the Klein Independent Schl District. Public Safety Grade Radi Cmmunicatins System The intent f this Request fr Infrmatin is t slicit slutins frm ptential radi vendrs t determine the best qualified prducts fr ur migratin t a stand-alne standards based digital trunked radi system and dispatch cnsles. Slutins may include P25, DMR r NXDN technlgies utilizing simulcast, multicast r hybrid systems. All slutins whether they are TDMA r FDMA shuld prvide a minimum 6.25 khz channel equivalency. The prpsed radi system will be used fr critical public safety cmmunicatins as well as schl administratin and supprt staff, transprtatin and maintenance departments within the District. This determinatin will be based n slutins, quality, value, expandability, reliability, interperability, pen architecture, as well as ther pertinent factrs. It is als the intent f this RFI t gather ROM (Rugh Order f Magnitude) pricing and financing ptins frm each radi vendr t assist in budgetary planning. ROM pricing fr dispatch cnsles and subscriber radi equipment shuld be separate frm system infrastructure pricing. Once all vendr infrmatin has been cllected and evaluated there will be an RFP (Request fr Prpsal) submitted by the Klein Independent Schl District that will target qualified vendrs and their respective slutins and prducts. Current System Envirnment The District currently has apprximately 1457 radis in use tday. Future grwth estimates fr the next 10 years indicated that the District will have apprximately 2109 radis in use by the year Klein ISD currently has 51 facilities that will all require prtable radi cverage frm the new radi system. Schl administratin and staff use a cmbinatin f repeated and nn-repeated analg UHF channels fr primary 2-way radi cmmunicatins. The district wns and perates 9 Kenwd UHF analg repeaters which prvide limited cverage and capacity fr users at the high schls and nearby surrunding areas. Schl administratin and staff rely n simplex talk arund channels fr shrt range cmmunicatins at elementary schls and ther areas which are nt cvered by the repeated channels. Schl administratrs als use Avaya Wi-Fi phnes fr private ne n ne cmmunicatins when they are in range f the District s Wi-Fi system. The KISD Plice department primarily perates n the (TXWARN) reginal 800 MHz P25 trunked radi system which is directly linked t the City f Hustn 700/700 MHz P25 trunked radi system. The TXWARN system is a dedicated Public Safety radi system. The Plice dispatch center is equipped with 2 Mtrla MCC5500 dispatch cnsle psitins, a NICE lgging recrder and a single 800 MHz P25 backup cntrl statin. The vendr needs t demnstrate a slid track recrd f n-time and within budget delivery n similar public safety radi system prjects f this type and size. The vendr shuld include a separate annual estimated maintenance/supprt mdel with cst range estimates in regard t the suggested technlgy.
