2 Let s send the right message. As one of the most recognized (and recognizable) BlackBerry icons, BBM has a look and feel of its own. Which is why it s important to use the BBM logo consistently and correctly. Read on to find out how.

3 Meet the logo The primary BBM logo consists of the BBM icon graphic adjacent to the name, which is rendered in light gray text. You ll be using this logo for most of the creative you produce.there are two, secondary variations on the logo which have been developed for specific situations:.. The icon paired with blue text. The icon paired with black text. We ll explore how to use the primary BBM logo, and its variations, throughout this guide. Please note: the BBM logo treatment can only be used by BlackBerry and by partners under license from BlackBerry Limited. 1 inch or 72 pixels Minimum size: Do not use the logo smaller than 1" wide in print communications or smaller than 72 pixels in digital communications. Clear space: The cap height of the BBM B determines the minimum clear space around the BBM logo.

6 BBM Logo Primary When to use the primary logo Use the logo with gray text on all gradient backgrounds*. You can also use this logo on black backgrounds, and on lifestyle images where the background offers sufficient contrast to allow the logo to pop on your layout. *Note: for more on gradients, and how to apply them, see the BlackBerry 10 Style Guide.

7 BBM Logo Secondary Blue When to use the secondary logo with blue text Typically, you will use this logo on plain white backgrounds. You can also use this treatment on lifestyle images where the background doesn t offer sufficient contrast for the light gray text to stand out. In situations where the blue text compliments the color palette in your layout, this logo treatment is an option.

8 BBM Logo Secondary Black When to use the secondary logo with black text Use the BBM logo with black text in situations where the background doesn t provide sufficient contrast to complement the primary or secondary blue text logo.

9 Example: primary logo In this case, the primary BBM logo was applied because the background allowed for sufficient contrast.

10 Example: secondary logo, blue text The secondary logo with blue text was chosen because the color complemented the blue elements in the device shot.

11 Example: primary logo The dark indigo corner of this evening scene offers a perfect spot for the primary logo.

12 Example: secondary logo, black text This lifestyle image is dominated by muted colors that would drain the light gray and blue text treatments. The secondary logo with black text stands out.

13 Example: secondary logo, black text The flat lighting and low contrast of this lifestyle image necessitates the use of the secondary logo with black text.
