1 THE SHUTTERBUG Vol. 65, No. 1 January 2017 Page 1 Published by the The Greater New Orleans Camera Club Member of the Gulf States Camera Club Council 1st Place Winner in the Assigned Category - Vertical vs. Horizontal 9 pts. Photo taken by - Dan Chauvin Titled - Canal Street-Algiers Ferry Judged by - Ken Redler Camera and Photo Details - Camera - HP PhotoSmart C945, Shutter Speed 1/408, f/8.1, ISO 100, focal length 52 mm January s assignment was to encourage members to shoot a vertical shot after shooting the usual horizontal image. For me personally it was a little disappointing. Looking at the entries post the competition, it appears that there were a few that merely took a horizontalshot photo and cropped it to a vertical display. However, this was not the goal of the exercise.

Some GSCCC clubs are judging too late and reporting too late. This holds up the month s newsletter going out with their results. Therefore, the February Gulf States results will be noted in the March Shutterbug and so forth. Ozzie and I are always looking for great images for pictorial prints and projected, nature prints and projected, and photojournalism prints and projected images to gain the most points possible with GSCCC. It is an honor to receive a certificate for GNOCC at the annual convention for placing in the top five clubs for total points earned during the competition year and an even greater honor to receive a plaque for one of our members who place 1st, 2nd, 3rd or honorable mention for their individual images. We have two more months to earn points as a club and maybe an individual winner.
