ACCEPTABLE MEDIUMS: Oils, Acrylic, Waterclr, Pastels, Mixed Media PAINT THE TOWN DAY, Sat. May 6 th (Rain date: May 13 th ): Artists are respnsible fr prviding their wn supplies and equipment. Paintings eligible fr judging and auctin must be cmpleted en plein air and checked in by 6 p.m. n the paint day at the Cary Arts Center. Artists and artwrk may be phtgraphed by Twn f Cary staff and used fr prmtinal materials. CHECK-IN AND CANVAS STAMPING: Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. n Saturday, May 6 th (Rain date: Saturday, May 13 th ) at the Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Avenue, Cary NC Blank canvases must be stamped at check-in t be eligible fr judging and the auctin. An unlimited number f painting surfaces may be stamped; hwever, each artist may submit a maximum f 2 pieces fr the judging and auctin. Please nte that mst Parks and Greenways are utside the Dwntwn painting bundaries. ARTWORK SUBMISSION: Artwrk fr judging and auctin must be submitted n later than 6 p.m. Saturday, May 6 th. (Rain date is May 13 th ) at the Cary Arts Center. Staff will phtgraph artwrk befre it is framed t place n the Twn s Plein Air Gallery webpage. Wrk shuld be framed r submitted as a wrapped canvas with all sides painted. All wrk must be titled, signed by the artist, and prewired fr hanging (n saw tth hangers). Wrkspace will be prvided fr artist t frame and wire artwrks. Each artist must set a minimum bid and a Buy Nw amunt when art wrk is submitted. EXHIBITION: Paintings will be displayed in participating Dwntwn Cary businesses until June 6 th. June 6 th -8 th paintings will be mved t the Cary Arts Center. Paintings will be ready fr viewing by 2 p.m. n auctin day, Friday, June 9 th. Staff decisins f where t hang r display paintings are final.

4 JUDGING and VOTING: First, secnd, and third place awards will be selected by a judging panel assembled by Twn staff. All decisins are final. The Peple s Chice Award will be selected by public vte. Each persn may vte nce and will be asked t prvide cntact infrmatin. Incmplete ballts will nt be included in the vte. Vting frms will be lcated at participating Dwntwn businesses and at the Cary Arts Center until June 6 th. Vting cntinues at the Cary Arts Center until 8:00 p.m. n June 9 th. All vtes must be turned in at the Cary Arts Center t be cunted. AWARDS: 1 st Place: $400 2 nd Place: $300 3 rd Place: $200 Peple s Chice: $100 Hnrable mentins are at the discretin f the judging panel. AUCTION & SALES: The silent Art Auctin will be held n Friday, June 9 th frm 6 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. Awards will be annunced arund 8:30 p.m. Persns with winning bids must prvide payment befre taking pssessin f the artwrk. Cash, checks, MasterCard and Visa accepted. All sld paintings must be paid fr and picked-up by 5 p.m. n Saturday, June 10 th. GALA: Live music and dancing frm 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Beer and Wine cash bar prvided and will pen at 6 p.m. PROCEEDS & AUCTION SALES: Seventy percent (70%) f prceeds g t the artist, twenty percent (20%) t the Twn f Cary Parks, Recreatin & Cultural Resurces Relief fr Recreatin Schlarship Fund and ten percent (10%) t verhead csts. Award payments and prceeds frm sales will be mailed t artists apprximately 2 weeks after auctin. UNSOLD ART PICK-UP: Artists may take unsld artwrk with them at the end f the gala, r if nt in attendance at the end f the gala, unsld artwrk must picked up frm the Cary Arts Center befre 6 p.m. n Saturday, June 10 th.
