01. PAINTING WORKS 01.1 Scope - Definitions Scope a) The scope hereof covers most common categories of painting works along with the required preparations as well as the provision of any kind of facilities, manpower, tools, mechanical equipment, apparatus and materials, in accordance with the herein provisions and other Tender Specifications and the Service s instructions. b) This specification includes the following painting works: - Common painting or coating works on interior surfaces using plastic paints - Distempering works - Common oil painting or coating of wooden or steel surfaces - Drywall painting works Definitions Painting works are categorized depending on the application surface, the type of material used (i.e. drying speed, ingredients, use) and the method of paint application. Painting work categories per paint-type are as follows: Oil painting works: Simple oil painting or puttying works on coated, wooden or metal surfaces or on heating radiators. Common plastic emulsion painting or puttying works on interior coated or wooden surfaces Painting works using water soluble paints such as distemper paints and cement-based paints Materials General Requirements a) Materials used in painting works are categorized as follows: - Materials used for surface protection or maintenance (antirust, fungistatic, anticorrosive etc.) - Substrate or intermediate coating materials - Finish colors (paints, varnishes) b) Painting, priming, first and finish color layers for any surface must be provided by the same manufacturer approved by the Service. c) All materials must be approved by the Service and be compatible with the surfaces where they are to be applied on. Before final selection of the paint colors, the Contractor is responsible for the implementation of the color study and for submitting to the Service, for their approval, the paint color samples on small surfaces in accordance with the RAL color palette along with the certificates for each product. Sample control concerns both the color and the ingredients of each material. Certificates verify that the materials meet the required specifications. After selection and approval of materials, Service proceeds to written order to the Contractor to go on with the painting works. d) The Contractor uses the materials in accordance with the manufacturer s user manual, the herein specifications and the Service s orders. e) Due to the utmost importance of the tools used for a successful painting work, the Contractor is under the obligation to supply their staff with new tools of excellent quality and variety in terms of sizes and forms, in compliance with the Service s orders. f) Colors must render painted surfaces resistant to environmental conditions, washing and rubbing with ordinary detergents. The surface shading must remain stable. g) Materials to be used on wooden surfaces must have the following properties: - To be thin to watery in order to well adhere and penetrate deeply into the wood.

- To contain fungistatic and insecticide substances in order to assure effective and long-term protection against fungi etc., yet without being hazardous to human health. - To contain resins which assure waterproofness and very strong resistance against UV light preventing thus fungal growth - To contain transparent pigments and iron oxides that absorb the UV light and prevent shell hardening and decay Specifications The most important applicable specifications for painting works are listed in the table below. The Contractor is under the obligation to use materials in accordance with these or other equivalent specifications approved by the Service and to conduct the respective tests and controls, if required by the Service. 4 # Work or Requirement Standard Determination of scratch resistance ELOT ΕΝ Preparation of steel substrates before application of paints and related products Visual assessment of surface cleanliness *ELOT: Hellenic Organization for Standardization ELOT ΕΝ ISO 8501 Indicative colors should be RAL3031 for the doors and RAL9001 for the doors. The final colours would be decided after the award of contract Miscellaneous Materials a) Paints consist of the following ingredients: - Pigments that are either inorganic or organic materials of very fine size particles - Adhesive mean or agent that unifies the pigment grains and shapes a uniform and resistant film after evaporation of solvent or diluent agent - Solvent or diluent agent that retains the fluid form of the mixture helping thus in the formation of the color film. b) Linseed oil - Linseed oil is the main ingredient of oil paints and primers. Its basic property is that it dries from top surface to substrate by contact with ambient oxygen. Therefore, oil paint layers must be thin, and each layer must be applied after the previous one dries. It is used either raw or boiled. - Raw linseed oil must be let dry for no more than 36 hours. Otherwise, the Service rejects the whole work and requires the Contractor to reconstruct the whole structure. Compared to boiled, with raw linseed oil there is neither color darkening nor wrinkling and blistering on the colored surface. Its use on porous surfaces (bricks, tiles, new coatings etc.) is not allowed, yet it is required for the preparation of primers. - Boiled linseed oil is much darker that the raw one, yet it still dries (24 h - 26 h) the paint color and increases its elasticity. It is produced by heating a mixture of raw linseed oil with a small amount of a drying agent and it is used for exterior surface painting (at 25% -33% than the raw one) or wherever faster drying is required. Therefore, the mixture also contains stabilizing agents. c) Sandpapers - Sandpapers consist of sheets of paper on the one face and glass chips glued to the other. They are used before painting to clean coatings and other surfaces by sanding. Depending on the glass chip size, the sandpaper is defined as rough (thick), fine (thin) or very fine, bearing numbered indications such as No. 2, No. 0 etc. - Worn sandpapers are used for very delicate sanding in order to avoid marking. - Emery cloth or pad is another type of sanding paper consisting of sheets of paper or cloth on the one face and emery grits as abrasive material glued to the other face. These are used for the sanding of metal surfaces. A special type of emery cloth is suitable for wet sanding, used on industrial paints (duco finishing). d) Various other materials - Drying agents are liquids added to oil paints so that they dry faster. They are used in small quantities in paint preparation. - Plastic putty is a filler produced by mixing white plastic paint and zinc powder and it is used for the puttying of surfaces to be colored with plastic paints.

- Putty is a viscous material used in order to form an even and smooth substrate for painting. Special acrylic putty is required for duco finishing as well as for metal surfaces Plastic Paints a) Plastic paints are noted for their faster drying time, higher resistance, elasticity and longer life span properties. They are used for wooden and coated surface painting. They are dispersed either in water (aqueous suspensions) or in organic solvents (compounds). Most common plastic paints include polyvinyl, acrylic and rubber paints. b) Plastic paints are dispersed, when required, by mandatory addition or mixture with a bit of fresh water, provided that water is the dispersing agent. Otherwise, dispersion is achieved by use of the material / organic solvent suitable for the relevant paint. It is noted that during plastic paint dispersion, the paint is more viscous on less absorbing surfaces, since the color film gains a rather smooth than porous texture. c) The characteristics of the plastic paints are as follows: - Odourless - Non-flammable - Maximum drying time 1h - Next layer may be applied after 3h 4h - Paint cure time more than 12 15h - Soap - washable after 5-10 days - Breathable (letting the painted surface to breath) - Applicable with a spray gun, a roller or a wide brush Oil Paints a) Oil paints are either standard industrial products or they are prepared on site. They are used for wooden, metal and coated surface painting. b) Oil painting works are performed by use of a small quantity of a standard paint or a combination of more oil paints. The quantity of turpentine oil is drastically reduced for the last layer if not totally omitted, as per the Service s instructions. c) In accordance with the Service s instructions, red oxide oil paints are used on steel surfaces as anticorrosive protection Execution of Works In general a) The following parameters must be considered for the selection of painting method: - The material and the nature of the surface (masonry walls, coated surfaces, stone setting, concrete, steel and wooden surfaces etc.) to be applied on - The surface exposure conditions (weather and ambient conditions, wear and tear, environment) - The potential special requirements (dryness, waterproofness, fire-resistance, non-toxicity etc.). b) The Contractor prepares and submits to the Service for approval a full list of paint colors for all fittings and surfaces under the scope of the approved color study. Such list must indicate the following information for each surface: - The required preparation - The name and type of color - The necessary number of color layers c) The Contractor shall allow the paint manufacturer s representatives to inspect the execution of works and to take samples of their products on site.

d) The Contractor may proceed to the painting works only after approval by the Service of representative samples for all kind of surfaces to be painted. Generally, the samples are taken on site. Where and how surface samples up to 2 m 2 are taken is determined by the Service. Worst spots are recommended for sampling. Samples must be checked when dry and exposed to adequate exposure conditions. Works may start only after the Service approves the sample. The sampling spots shall remain intact and won t be finalized until the entire painting works are completed. Wherever (no smooth) finishing work is required, the Contractor shall submit to the Service sample fixtures dimensions of 1 m x 1m for approval. Samples are to remain on site until works are completed. Sampling must follow the EN ISO 1514 standard. e) The Contractor notifies the Service 3 days before works start. f) The Contractor shall make sure that the quantity of the prepared paint is always a bit more than required. g) Non-uniform paints materials are not to be mixed. Painting materials are to be well mixed in order to gain smoothness and viscosity before use, unless otherwise indicated by the manufacturer. Before mixing paints, the Contractor shall precisely calculate quantities in order to avoid multiple mixtures and to assure color uniformity. h) Adhesives are to be well mixed and kept in clean containers to be opened and used within the time span indicated by the manufacturer. i) In buildings, painting works start from the ceilings, then go on to walls and end with the door frames. Painting of vertical surfaces starts from its corners, then perimetrically to its windows, doors and switches by use of a brush and goes on with the rest of the surface with either a roller or a brush. When using a roller, paint from top to the bottom Transfer and Storage of Materials a) Materials are delivered inside sealed packaging labelled with the following information: - Paint color (name, type, composition code) - Production and expiry date - Manufacturer s name - User manual and compatible materials - Batch number - Toxicity and hazard level b) Painting materials delivered in knocked unsealed and non-airtight containers allowing evaporation, contamination or loss of material are not acceptable. c) The Contractor verifies that materials are labelled with delivery date and starts using those delivered earlier. Degraded or expired materials are to be immediately removed from site. d) Apart from water-based or bituminous paints, all other paints must be delivered in containers of no more than 5lt capacity. e) All materials are to be stored inside their packaging in clean and dry environment. In particular, paints are to be stored in clean, dry and cool spaces protected from extreme temperatures. Water-based materials must be protected from frost. Transfer and storage of flammable painting materials must follow safety rules. f) The Contractor is to return to the Service a 2% of additional quantity of each material, i.e. at least 1 container of 5lt capacity and in intact containers, all after completion of works Environmental Conditions a) The typically accepted ambient temperature for painting works ranges from 10 C to 40 C. b) Painting works on steel surfaces are not allowed when metal surface temperature is lower than 3 C. In order to prevent vapors from condensation on the metal surface, the acceptable temperature for such painting works is 3 C higher than the condensation point. c) Painting works and especially with water-soluble pigments must be avoided at periods of low ambient temperatures. If this is impossible, then heating of the area to be painted is required:

- The area must be well heated before painting works start with the temperature falling within acceptable limits. The temperature of the surface to be painted and the ambient temperature are measured with a thermometer and must both fall within the temperature range recommended by the paint manufacturer, while temperature must at least remain at the lower threshold, until the paint dries completely. (The paint has fully cured, when it has no adhesive texture and no marks are left when rubbing with a finger over it). - The moisture content limits for painting absorbing materials (wood, coatings etc.) must be observed as per relevant requirements. By use of a moisture meter, assure that the moisture content falls within the given limits, before start painting. - Paint dispersion is not allowed in cold spaces. Paint must be transferred and dispersed at the area to be painted. Materials dispersed under cold conditions may be too watery under normal temperatures Preparation a) The Contractor must prepare the surfaces in accordance with the paint manufacturer s instructions. b) Before painting works start, all accessories not to be painted are removed from the surface (window and door accessories, tiles from electrical sockets, switches etc.), which are to be replaced after the end of works. c) All cracks, holes and joints found to be defective as well as other defects on the surfaces to be painted, are repaired before start painting. d) All surfaces to be painted must be clean, free of any potential dirt and loose materials. In cases of repainting, all residuals from previous paint colors must be removed from the surface with a hard metal brush or with wet or vapor blasting or with sandblasting. Usually surfaces are cleaned from air pollutants or airborne contaminants (smoke, dust etc.) with water from the bottom to the top. In difficult cases compressed water may be used along with appropriate detergents. In case of fungal growth, surfaces must be cleaned with fungicide agent. e) Loose materials are removed from steel surfaces with a chipping hammer, while on wooden surfaces blow lamp is recommended as it dries the surface faster. Metal surfaces must also be hardened with sandpaper or an emery cloth or by sandblasting in order to increase adhesion. f) The preparation for steel parts painting must comply with ΕΝ ISO 8501, 8502 and ΕΝ ISO 11924, 11925, 11926, standards. In order to render any potential rust into a solid and stable film, the stabilizing water-soluble material must be applied on metal door frames and other steel fixtures of the buildings before painting, and in accordance with the manufacturer s and herein specifications and the Service s work instructions. The stabilizing material is applied with either a roller or a brush (15 m 2 /kg - 20 m 2 /kg), after having removed any slag rust. Following the application of the material, rust starts stabilizing when the color on rust surface changes from brown-red to blue-black and it is fully stabilized after 2 h - 3 h, in accordance with the manufacturer s specifications and the Service s work instructions. Then, the stabilized surface is primed with red oxide and then painted. In case that rust insists even after treatment, the Contractor is under the obligation to replace the steel fixture by mechanical means and in accordance with the Service s work instructions. g) In case that the Service requires the Contractor to change the color on an already painted surface, the Contractor shall prime with stabilizing agent in layers before repainting. h) Tests to be performed on site before applying paint on a surface are as follows: - Hiding power test (the ability of a paint to hide a certain surface with the less possible quantity of pigment or with the thinner possible color film). Small glass surfaces are painted with color varying in weight, amount and thickness of layers. A newspaper sheet is placed beneath the glass plates and hiding power of the paint is determined by whether the letters are readable or not. - Adhesion test (the adhesive ability of a paint color). If paint color is not removed along with a sticker put on a painted surface, adhesion is deemed satisfactory. - Elasticity test (the ability of the color film to follow the surface s malformations, without peeling off, crushing or cracking). Elasticity is verified by painting a piece similar to the surface to be painted and when bent the color film remains intact. i) Paints are not applied on surfaces with the following defects:

- Soft, worn coating - Wet coating - Damp wood - Oiliness or rust General Requirements for Work a) The criteria for a successful painting work are as follows: - The state and preparation of the surface to be painted - The composition and the quality of the materials used and their compatibility with the surface - The required total thickness of the color film - The weather and ambient conditions during painting works - The working experience and specialization of the technicians. b) All works are to be performed by experienced technicians in accordance with the best practice, the specific remarks of the study and the instructions of the Service. c) In cases that priming or other surface treatment is recommended by the paint manufacturer for the color finishing yet not expressly stated in the specifications, such treatment shall be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer s and/ or the Service s instructions. d) Paint layers are applied on clean and dry surfaces under dry ambient conditions as per the manufacturer s instructions. Each layer is to be applied only after the previous ones dried. e) If not otherwise defined herein or in the paint manufacturer s user manual, the Contractor may choose the application method (brush, spray, roller), following relevant approval by the Service. f) Before any color finishing: - All other work must be completed - All waste materials and items that might even slightly damage the painted areas must be removed - All floors, roofs etc. must be clean. g) Use plastic putty for puttying. Plastic putty is recommended for coated surfaces and any other work performed with plastic primer so that the surface painted with plastic paints does not get an oily texture. If puttying is skipped in order to simplify the work, then the second puttying layer shall definitely contain enough turpentine oil. h) If there are superficial defects after the first pigment layer is applied, these must be repaired after the first layer has cured and before the second pigment layer is applied always on a clean and dust-free surface. If, due to climate conditions, fungal growth is detected after the first pigment layer is applied, the surfaces must be washed with special fungicide compounds. i) The use of many layers of sealant agents on surfaces of heavily damped substrates must be avoided, as dampness will appear on other spots of the surface. j) The desirable thickness of the color film must be achieved by applying many pigment layers and not only one thick layer. k) Failures in paint application result to the following problems: - Blistering when either the surface to be painted is wet or the pigment layer is thicker than it should be or when the selected application method is inappropriate. - Flowing or dripping colors on vertical surfaces when the pigment layer applied is thicker than it should be and when the paint is either too watery or has no appropriate thixotropy. - Fading gloss color when paint is applied or during drying time may occur due to damped surface or to wrong paint dispersion. - Non-uniform surface hiding is attributed to use of inappropriate diluent or to a low dilution ratio. - Chalking (film degradation) appears as a white and easily removable dust on the painted surface.

- Crocodile cracking (surface torn-open in irregular shapes) either due to a thick paint layer applied on soft or instable substrate when intermediate layers have not dried yet or due to normal color aging (which is not a defect) Protection a) The Contractor is under the obligation to maintain the painted surfaces until the final handover of the project, unless the occurring wear and tear are attributed to ordinary use of the areas and not to faults or omissions concerning the materials, the way that the surfaces are prepared or the application of the paint colors. b) The Contractor is responsible for the protection of the adjacent surfaces and other building elements on the painted surfaces (knocks, splashing etc.). The Contractor is also responsible for protecting the striped, sandblasted and non-transparent (frit) glass panels from oily paint ingredients. The protective measures are applicable until the full completion of works and the handover of the premises in perfect condition. The quality of protection must live up to the circumstances, the progress in construction works and the general conditions in building works. Painted areas must be adequately signed (Caution Painted Area ) and cordoned off when deemed necessary. c) During painting works, all areas must be kept free from any kind of dust. d) The Contractor is responsible for the compliance with the following safety measures required for spray guns and cleaning with sandblasters. The required safety measures for the use of spray guns and blasters must comply with EN ISO 1953 standard. - Staff using spray guns must wear protective full-face mask when spraying. - Assure constant airflow and sufficient ventilation when spraying in confined spaces. - Air flow is checked after spraying in order to verify that all spaces are fully ventilated before smoking, fire or sparking equipment use is allowed. - Staff cleaning surfaces with sandblasters must use the adequate personal protective equipment. - Regularly check carbon monoxide concentration in the air, when internal combustion engines are used in confined spaces. Also, electric power operated equipment must come with anti-explosive safety devices Priming a) Primers are the first preparing layers before oil painting. When plastic paints are used, a standard non-oily (plastic) primer is recommended. b) In cases of drywalls and absorbing coated surfaces, a special non-absorbing primer without alkalis is recommended Plastic Painting The painting work procedure for plastic paints is as follows: Wall surface grinding to level any malformation Smooth sanding, cleaning to remove dust and other slag residues and puttying Priming with a special primer in two layers with a brush or a roller Slight filling with clean putty, and special treatment of puttied surfaces Application of plastic paint in two layers. Special attention is paid to time intervals between priming and application of both paint layers Coating with Plastic Paints The coating work procedure with plastic paints is as follows: Surface grinding

Cleaning from dust Application of two layers vertical to each other (coating) of semifluid mixture of acrylic putty. Application of plastic paint in accordance with the manufacturer s instructions at least in two layers Oil Painting on Wooden Surfaces a) Before starting oil painting works, wooden surfaces are thoroughly cleaned from any potential residues. b) The work procedure for simple oil painting works (without coating) is as follows: - Full surface cleaning by sanding - Priming with a brush - Sanding after primer has cured - Cutting off wood ridges and bulges, removal of dead knots and filling the gap with wood, levelling with a wood chisel and French polishing. - Sanding with a thick sandpaper (No. 3) - Cleaning - Covering the wood gaps, cuts and joints with a filler - When filler dries, new sanding with thin sandpaper until the wood surface is completely levelled. - Application of the oil paint in two or three layers. Careful sanding with a thin sandpaper (no. 2 no.1) after having let each layer fully dry and before applying the next paint layer. Small quantities of thin oil paint are applied in layers, so that they dry without using too much drying agent (max. 0.02kg per 1 kg of oil paint). c) The paint is applied with a brush moving straight, horizontally and vertically (crossing in each layer) without leaving any brush or lap marks. d) The work procedure for coating with oil paints starts with the same preliminary works. Before applying the first oil paint layer, coat in two vertical layers with acrylic putty (putty made by a mixture of stucco, linseed oil, turpentine oil, white lead or zinc oxide and a drying agent). After the second coating layer is applied, sand with a worn sandpaper and then apply the first oil paint. The rest work procedure is the same as for common oil painting works. The purpose of coating is to achieve a totally smooth surface. e) In case that wooden surface is to be finished with gloss paint, the coating must be applied in two very thin vertical layers. Between the applications of the two coatings, there is sanding, sparse treatment with filler and priming of the first layer. Two layers of special oil undercoats (guide coat) cross each other, then the surface is treated with filler and sanded with thin sandpaper (No. 2 No. 0) and then two or more layers of gloss paint are applied until a uniform color shade is achieved. Apart from the last one, each layer application is followed by a careful sanding with a thin sand paper and slight puttying. f) Linseed oil application on wooden surfaces needs the following preparation: - Surface sanding - Puttying with a common filler mixed with a bit of paint color in order to avoid its white color - Re-sanding - One or two layers of boiled linseed oil along with a drying agent - The mixture may also contain a small quantity of pigment, so that the wood gains a slight color shade. Linseed oil is mainly applied on internal surfaces of auxiliary cabinets (shelves, partitions, drawers, kitchen cabinets etc.), if they are not to be painted with oil paint or enamel, alkyd or gloss paints Oil Painting on Steel Surfaces a) The following work procedure is the same for both common oil painting and coatings works: - Surface wire brushing or sanding with an emery cloth to remove rust, dust and oils - Two layers of red oxide - Coating with two layers of acrylic putty mixture and slight puttying (both apply only in oil paint coatings)

- Two layers of oil paint are applied depending on surface, sanding with thin sandpaper after each layer application, apart from the last one. b) Red oxide is applied only on clean metal surfaces to be treated with gloss paint. After drying, coating and sanding follow as already described above. The rest of the procedure is similar to the gloss paint application on wooden surfaces. c) In cases of oil painting works under high temperatures, use only fire-resistant paints. After surface wire brushing or sanding with an emery cloth, prime with a fire-resistant paint and then finish by applying two layers of fire-resistant gloss paint Distempering Distempering paints are used in floor and walls of auxiliary spaces, warehouses etc. They are not to be used on exterior surfaces. They are applied in many thin layers with a brush on rough surfaces sanded with an herb brush Drywall Painting Drywall painting needs at least two layers of acrylic or vinyl paint after having sanded the surfaces with sandpaper or a herb brush, having cleaned them from dust and primed them with the special material that isolates drywall surface and vanishes its wide absorbing properties Completion of Works a) After completion of works, the Contractor is under the obligation to remove as soon as possible all tools, scaffolds, waste materials and extra paint colors and to clean all surfaces (floors, walls, coverings, glass panels, sanitary equipment etc.) from paints. Any fixture not returning to its prior to cleaning condition, are to be replaced as per the Service s instructions. b) Paint spills, marks, drips are also removed from surfaces. c) No waste paints are to be disposed of in lavatories, floor drain sewers etc. Instead they are to be stored in closed containers and removed from site Inspections a) Even if already inspected and approved, upon delivery and just before use, the materials are to be inspected by the Contractor and the Service s representative in order to verify the condition of paints inside the containers. The material is rejected and replaced in the following cases: - If there is a thick color crust on its surface inside the container (skinning). - If pigments have chemically reacted with other paint ingredients creating semisolid lumps that cannot vanish and be remixed with the rest of the material (gelatinization or curdling). - If gases created by chemical reactions among the material s ingredients are released. Relevant indications are blistering on the materials surface and potentially unusual odour. In plastic paints, gas release may indicate that the material has suffered many temperature changes from cold to hot. - If there is an extensive sedimentation, which is sinking of pigments at the bottom of the container, at such an extent that the solidified pigment cannot be diluted with the usual stirring processes. Limited sedimentations are expected in most paint colors, however the sunk pigment is normally diluted immediately when stirred or shaken. b) Finished surfaces are inspected by the Service in order to detect extra material that has not been crossed and/ or absorbed uniformly, brush marks, differences in color, texture and final appearance. Painting works are to be rejected when: - Repairs are even slightly visible. - The surface underneath color is visible, that is when the color is transparent ( sea bream - like ) - The color on the painted surface is not fully uniform - It is even slightly worn (hairline cracks, peeling off, blistering etc.) - The splices of the parts of a painted surface are visible - Brush strokes are visible

- Paint meeting lines of different shades are not perfectly straight - The texture or the shading is not the one required by the study and/ or the Service - The thickness and the hiding power of each paint layer are not uniform - Gaps, pinholes and cracks on walls to be painted are not filled - Work done on corners, edges, fittings, splices, cracks etc. is not of same quality as in other surfaces - Joint sealants are painted. c) The Contractor is to repair all imperfections and surfaces without any extra payment and following the approval of the Service Included Expenditure Apart from all (preliminary and main) stages of work execution, the unit price of all painting works also includes the following: a) Supply and transportation on site regardless distance or transport means, delivery and installation of all required materials, tools and equipment (blenders, scaffolds etc.) anywhere on site in order to duly complete works. b) Construction, transportation and installation of scaffolds anywhere on site and their dismantling after completion of works. c) Preparation, cleaning, repair, coating, sanding, hardening of surfaces, sampling and testing of materials, making of samples and repair of defective finished work. d) Protection, cleaning and repair of adjacent surfaces damaged by the painting works. e) Cleaning of work site and removal of all waste materials after completion of works. f) Potential repairs (odd jobs) on the surfaces when door frames and FF&E etc. are installed. g) Safe storage and protection of all materials and elaborated surfaces. h) Any other work, even additional and not expressly stated herein, required for the completion of works fully, timely and in due diligence Area Measurement a) Painting works are measured either in square meter (m²) surfaces or in length meters (m) of linear objects of certain other dimensions, fully completed per type of painting work listed in the Invoice. Surfaces do not include any opening, hole or gap, while linear objects do not include any discontinuity either differently painted or un-painted.
