1 Data Sheet Englisch Dauerschutzlasur aromatics-free high-solid varnish, thixothrope, silk gloss, for exterior and interior use Properties Aromatics-free, mild-odor highsolid woodstain on alkyd resin basis without biocide agents. Maximum UV and weather resistance by UV-protection pigments, special UV and radical absorbers. Silk-glossy, highly diffusible, thixotrope and easy to use. Upon request, Permanent Protection is available in "Protect Quality" i.e. provided with film protection against fungal attack. Field of application For weather-resistant exterior glaze paint coats on all deciduous and coniferous trees. Can be used, as one-pot system for dimensionally accurate wooden components/structures, e.g. windows and doors, and wooden components/structures with limited dimensional accuracy, such as groove and tongue paneling (e.g. roof undersides), garden furniture, shutters, etc. Can also be used in the interior. On moisture-exposed wooden exterior components with limited dimensional accuracy, we recommend the use of Permanent Protection in "Protect Quality (for more information, refer to Note). Do not thin, otherwise the EU limit according to VOC directive is exceeded. Tinting All colors can be mixed with one another without limitations. Compatibility Can only be mixed with materials of the same type and those specified in this Data Sheet. Application Stir thoroughly before use. Apply evenly with a natural bristle brush or a Uni-Plus paint brush. Alternatively, can also be applied without Protect features using the XVLP spray method. In this context, the surfaces must subsequently be uniformly smoothed with a brush. Consumption Approx. 70 ml/m² per coat. 2 Application temperature Do not apply if air or object temperature is below +5 C. Tool cleaning Clean tools immediately after use with Thinner AF 631 or Quick-Acting Brush Cleaner 111. Spray data Drying (+20 C, 65 % relative humidity) Dry after approx. 6 hours. Recoatable after approx. 24 hours. Allow longer drying times at lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity. Coating build-up Substrate preparation The substrate must be solid, dry, clean, with good adhesiveness, load-bearing and free from separating agents. In accordance with BFS Leaflet No. 18, the moisture content must not exceed 15 % in the case of dimensionally accurate and 18 % in the case of dimensionally inaccurate wooden components. Remove weathered, grayed wood down to the solid wood. Hazardous particles and vapors may be released while sanding or removing paint coats, e.g., as a result of sanding, paint removal by heat gun, etc. Perform such work only in well ventilated areas and ensure the use of appropriate protective equipment (including respiratory protective equipment) as required. Pretreat the substrate depending on the requirements, apply prime and/or intermediate coat. Also see BFS leaflet no. 18, Par. 4 and 5, as well as VOB Part C, DIN 18363, Section 3. Page 2 of 5

4 Brightening technique The brightening technique can be used when it is necessary to make dark wooden elements with intact woodstain coating appear lighter or to coordinate windows and doors, for example. This effect is achieves by means of a harmonized combination of a covering prime coat and a woodstain finish. Prepaint the prepared, load-bearing wooden surfaces with Impredur Primer 835 in accordance with the desired wood color shade. Depending on the selected woodstain color shade, we recommend using a harmonizing primer color shade (see overview below). Data Sheet Then apply as usual, leaving a slight streaking in the direction of the grain. An intermediate coat and a topcoat should generally be applied. To evaluate the color shade and the surface effect, we recommend as is generally the case for woodstain coatings preparing a sample surface beforehand. 5 Note Sand Substrates We recommend sanding the surfaces between the individual work steps. Check existing paint coats Check existing woodstain coats for their bearing capacity (scratch or adhesive tape test). Place a wet cloth on the surface to check if the existing paint coat or the wood has effloresced. If a moist, dark stain forms in the wood after a short time, the weathered wood/paint must be removed down to the solid wood. Evaluating the woodstain color Due to their own color and absorption capacity, the different types of wood have an impact on the color of the woodstain. For this reason, coat a test surface to verify the color effect, if necessary. Colorless application, interior only Colorless woodstain coats are not suitable as the sole stain for exterior applications because they provide insufficient UV protection. Service life of woodstain coat The service life of a woodstain coat also depends on the type of structure and the quality of impregnation and priming of the relevant components/structures. To maintain the woodstain coating in a good condition we recommend checking and, if necessary, touching up the coating at regular intervals of max. 2 to 3 years, in particular in areas where the coating is exposed to weather impact. Interior application Odor and yellowing are typical of alkyd resin woodstains. For large-surface interior applications (e.g. on ceilings and walls) as well as for white and light color shades, we recommend using the water-based Lacryl 235. Panel-shaped wood materials, exterior With current technology, panelshaped, coated wood materials have limited suitability for exterior applications. See also BFS Information Sheet no. 18, Section A coating recommendation can only be made in individual cases in consideration of the material type and quality, structure and climatic conditions. "Protect Quality" The quality labeled with "Protect" is equipped with film protection at the factory to protect against fungal attack and is therefore only suitable for brush application and for exterior use. The preservatives used minimize the risk of or delay fungal attack. We recommend applying at least two paint coats. With the current state of the art, a permanent protection against fungal attack cannot be guaranteed. Further information Follow the instructions on the data sheets of the products used.
