His price for painting the exterior of my house was very reasonable compared to other bids I received. His prep work was thorough not only including power washing, scraping, and caulking, but also replacing exterior window frames that had suffered water damage over the years. He and his team hand rolled the exterior adding additional coats in places that receive harsh sunlight in the summer. Glenn was very easy to work with, on time, and finished the job quickly even working on the weekend. I am completely satisfied and highly recommend him. 2 indicated and on the whole was not. In addition, staffing of the crew was inconsistent (during 2 of seven days work only one person was here - ONE!. I had to pick up nails in the garage and around the ground of the house daily. I found them not at all prepared to do certain "detail" work well (they had limited use of draping and taping to prevent mess), and though it was an accident they broke a very large window and I am still waiting to see that replaced. They thoroughly primed and sanded. Did extra things we didn't mention, like painting the gas meter and removing the bird droppings on the roof. The house hasn't looked this good for 20 years. The window sills were in terrible shape and they practically look new. I will have them paint the interior this winter. Very reasonable price. I don't think you can get a better paint job than this. The owner Larry Rhineheimer uses a spray technique that literally makes your cabinets look brand new. The price was very reasonable too. He was also great with coordinating the granite install and making sure we could get back into our kitchen in a short time. He has a great eye for detail and design. His team showed up on time and worked a full day every day until complete. I highly recommend them for your kitchen cabinet remodel, as it is great alternative to replacing your cabinets. The prep work was detailed and thorough, and prevented any overspray on my brick siding, deck, or windows. (Past painters did not prep and cover properly and left over spray. Lime s prep avoided this.) They also scraped paint off the window glass that the prior painter had left. Lime did this at no extra charge. I went with their recommended paint and am very pleased at how the colors and finish turned out. Their detail work on the trim and wood windows was great. The crew was nice and accommodating. (They clean out some rain gutters that were inaccessible to me.) And the final clean up was very well done. I recommend Lime Painting for painting and will have them back when the time comes to paint my house again. No Comments: Nice presentation packed with several stipulations/specifications to be completed under the contract/scope of work. Rather, minimal preparation was performed - bare wood was not primed, existing painted areas were not sanded/scraped. Paint application was by sprayer. As a result, there are several drip marks. Some pieces of trim were only partially painted. The contract also was supposed to include a 2-year "corporate" warranty. When I received the reminder card and called, they indicated I would be contacted by the local owner, Ken Kortan to schedule a time to return to the job. Never received that call! The job they did was very professional and the bid they gave us was way way lower than a local large painting company. Plus they stuck to the bid even when they probably could have added a few bucks due to unforeseen things that came up. The paint and caulking they used is top of the line and it was applied correctly and the house now looks almost better than it did when it was brand new nearly 30 years ago. I cannot say enough good things about they way we were treated and the work that was done and I will for sure use them again in the future. I also found out that they do inside painting as well so I plan to use them as needed on my inside jobs too. No Comments: I have worked with many contractors over the years and never had many problems until my experience with Sheppards. I hired them because they were highly recommended and because they were local. My initial meeting with Chris Sheppard went great. During the meeting he explained to me that about 6" of branches from our tree would need to be cut back because they were brushing up against our house on the second floor. I agreed. I decided to hire Sheppards and they got to work right away. The problem: On the first day of prep work, instead of cutting 6" of branches that were brushing up against the second floor of our house, they completely hacked off half of the lower half of our 40 year old blue spruce tree. They cut the branches all the way back to the trunk creating a 9' wide x 9' long x 13' high gap where tree branches used to be. Basically 1/4 of the tree is gone and will never come back. This tree used to provide privacy between my neighbor and I. It used to be a nice visual from inside our house and from our deck. Now it is a really large hideous eye sore in my small yard. I immediately called Chris and he came out the next day. He offered no apology, stared at the ground most of the meeting, and explained that they didn't do anything wrong. I was so upset I called their office demanding to talk to the owner. The manager explained that she couldn't give out his number but that I could the company. I ed the company and got a call from the owner Tom Sheppard. Tom was very defensive and basically attacked me at the beginning of the phone call. He offered no apology, and explained that them cutting the tree was perfectly normal operating procedure. (I eventually talked to three other professional painters and they all said the same thing - "I am not an arborist. I have no business cutting trees. I would never cut a tree. I would use ropes and tarps to pull back the branches while I was painting.") The solution: Sheppards paid to have an arborist come and clean up the hack job. We bought a shed to try fill the void and Sheppards installed it, painted it, and put a roof on it at no cost. This project started in April, and finished in June. The paint job was alright, but they didn't do a good job cleaning up the trim before painting so some of the trim doesn't look that great afterwards. They didn't do detailed work. Some of the trim is already chipping off one month later. ***Besides the paint job, I am mostly disappointed by their lack of professionalism when the tree problem happened. In my opinion they should have offered an apology, explained why it happened, and then started exploring possible solutions to right their wrong. It certainly saved us time having Total Home Exteriors in charge of our house renovation, so that we didn't have to worry or shop around for different contractors.after the 8/22/2013 hailstorm.

I told both of the brothers at the beginning that I was looking for a "painter" not just a painting contract at a good price, and they delivered. I will be using them again without any hesitation. They gave me a fair price, but more importantly, you could tell they cared about providing me a quality paint job, which they did. On one of the days when they were supposed to paint in the afternoon, storm clouds started to appear behind the foothills. But it was unclear whether it was going to rain. When the blue sky started to appear both in front of the hogback and to the north, I suggested that they could continue the job as scheduled. But they were not convinced, so they rescheduled for the next day which meant they lost a day of work. And, sure enough, it rained two hours later. I think most painters would have

9 quickly relied on the homeowner saying "go ahead" to keep working. At that point, it was essentially my risk. But the Bybee brothers put my interest in getting a quality paint job over their interest in not losing a day of work. They did a great job, gave me a fair price and the house looks great. And, in the process I found "the painter" I was looking for that I can count on for future painting needs.
