Spring has not quite arrived in full force here in Holmfirth, and to celebrate, we are busying ourselves knitting furiously with our brand new mid-season yarn launch Chenille read on to find out further information! This month s issue also takes a look at the H & H fair in Cologne, brings you news of a fabulous new children s online collection and we hear about our exciting Crochet Club workshop to be held later this year at the mill. 10 R O W A N at H+H From the 21st to the 23rd March, our retailers could visit us at the annual H+H fair in Cologne, Germany, which is the world s largest international trade fair for creative handcrafts and hobbies. new magazine themes direct to the show and created a stunning atmosphere, with mannequins standing in the greenery, surrounded by mist and the sound of birds singing. 14 Crochet Club On 12/13 th July, Rowan Mill, Holmfirth, West Yorkshire Jane Crowfoot assisted by Erica Pask This workshop is for Jane Crowfoot s crochet club members or those wanting to have a taste of what the club involves - members can bring their projects along for help and guidance from Jane, or they can choose to work through a motif pattern taken from the design (alongside non members), which could be used as a cushion panel or the beginnings of a blanket project. Crochet techniques will include beading, colour work, textural stitches and surface crochet as well as some finishing tips and techniques. Participants need to bring along a selection of crochet hooks to include a 2.5mm, 3mm & 3.5mm, as well as a basic sewing kit to include scissors and sewing needles. A notebook and pen/pencil is also a good idea. About Jane Crowfoot Jane Crowfoot studied Textile design at Winchester School of Art and worked as a freelance knitwear designer and has worked on designs for TV and film. Jane currently works for Rowan Yarns as a mobile design consultant, offering hands on advice to knitters through teaching and demonstrations, holding regular workshops for knitters of all capabilities. Jane is the author of Finishing Techniques for Hand Knitters, which was published in March 2003 and Two stitch Knits published in CROCHET CLUB 14 - May 2014
