I m looking forward to our June programs with Libby Armstrong s Charming tote bag; and Linda Jones & Annie Kellum teaching us how to twist, get twisted or something like that! I must again say how glad I am to see how many talented people we have in our guild. Don t forget about helping kids quilt at the Douglas County Library near the end of June. Contact Broach Winsley for details. This is a very good opportunity for the guild to reach out to the community. As we approach the second half of the year, be thinking about what way you might want to serve in A nominating committee will be appointed in August and looking for willing members to carry us through another exciting year. I ve seen, first hand, so much of the talent, commitment and sharing in Cherokee Rose, and hope that you won t hide your candle under a bushel. I guess I m kind of short winded this month - SURPRISE!! So, I will just remind you to check the website for updates and information. As always, if you have any questions, complaints or ideas, please contact myself or one of the officers or committee chairs. We are here to serve you. Happy Quilting! 5 CRQG Program News Our program for the June 13 day meeting is the Charming Tote Bag class taught by Libby Armstrong. The materials needed to make the bag are: 12-5 charms, ½ yard coordinating print for bottom and handles, ½ yard lining fabric, and an 18 x 30 rectangle of fusible fleece. Please bring your sewing machine and standard sewing supplies including an iron, ironing surface, small cutting mat, rotary cutter, rectangular ruler, and power strip and/or extension cord. We will be in our regular room and plan to finish no later than 3PM, so bring your lunch. Keep in mind that we do not have kitchen privileges when we are in Room 208, so be sure to bring food that does not need refrigeration. Please join us for this easy tote bag class. You know if Libby is teaching it, it has to be fun! Our June 27 night program is a Twister Tools Demonstration by Annie Kellum and Linda Jones. If you have made any projects using one of the tools, please bring it to show-and-tell. We would love for the guild members to see what you have done with this versatile tool. Both of our July programs will be Christmas in July. We will soon post what you need to bring for the July day meeting wristlet purse class. At our July night meeting we will have a visit from Robin Jones of Cottontail Quilts. She will show us what s new in her shop and help us get a head start on some of our Christmas projects. We will have a special show-and tell at both meetings where members show off anything they are working on for Christmas or any special crafts they like to do for Christmas. Try to get any current Christmas projects together enough so you can share with us your latest Christmas craft! Photos from The Leaf Workshop Presented by Regina Carter on Saturday, 5/14.
