3 Frame the locks 1. Place the top edge of a Sampler block together with a Rose () 2½ x 14½ rectangle. Sew a partial seam for four to five inches from left to right, leaving the remainder of the seam unfinished until Step 5. Figure Sew a Denim lue (D) 2½ x 14½ rectangle to the left edge of the block. 4 5. omplete the seam started in Step 1 to sew the Rose () 2½ x 14½ rectangle to the top edge of the block. Press toward the Rose () rectangle. Sampler enter 1. rrange the twenty blocks in (5) rows, with (4) blocks in each row. Put a Hopes and Wishes block in each corner. Keep the Rose () frame edge of each block at the top. 2. Sew the blocks in each row together. Press the seams in rows 1, 3 and 5 to the left. Press the seams in rows 2 and 4 to the right. 3. Sew the rows together. Press seams in either direction. Trim to 86 x 104, centering the middle panel. 3. Layer the Sampler, atting and acking. Quilt as desired. inding 1. Sew together the (9) inding x 40 (wof) strips, joining the short ends with diagonal seams. Press seams open. 2. Press binding strip in half, lengthwise, with the wrong sides together. 3. Sew binding to quilt top, mitering at the corners. 4. Trim batting and backing 1 4 beyond the binding. 5. Turn binding to the quilt back. Stitch to backing by hand. njoy! Page 7
