1 We s t S u b u r b a n Q u i l t e r s G u i l d F ro m t h e P r e s i d e n t B e t t y L e r n e r Can you believe our Guild year is over already!!! We have had a great year with programs and speakers, a fabulous Quilt Show, solved some problems, and made new friends. I have had a very rewarding year getting to know everyone better will be a great year too. We will be setting out on a new adventure. The votes are in and almost unanimous. Beginning in September, we will be meeting at Brookfield Lutheran Church near the corner of Brookfield Road and Burleigh. I think you will be happy with the move. We will meet in a much larger space. The Church has ample parking, good AV equipment, and a welcoming atmosphere. The Church will also offer us some opportunity to be involved with Church projects such as the Quilts for Charity group. We will continue to meet on the second Wednesday of the month except during Advent and Lent when we will meet on the second Thursday. As soon as I can finalize a schedule, I will make sure that each of you gets a copy of the meeting dates. We do have a few things to work on over the summer. We will have an auction in the fall. If we invite the members of the church and all of our friends, it should be lots of fun. If everyone makes one or two things for the auction, we should do very well. Our first meeting will be the Pat Sloan lecture (more information to follow). We may need to schedule an extra meeting for our organizational/informational meeting. It s not too soon to think about the next Quilt Show. We will be looking for chairpersons soon. So for the May meeting, bring your pot luck, the UFO exchange, your first and latest quilt, and your membership renewal. See you then! Stir in cereal until well coated spread into prepared pan. In a smaller microwave safe bowl combine chocolate and butterscotch chips (I also add about a ½ Tablespoon of butter to help with melting). Microwave uncovered on high for about 2 minutes stir until smooth. Spread over cereal mixture already on cookie sheet for best rolling results stay within about a ½ to 1 inch from edges. Roll up Jell-O roll style starting with a short side peeling wax paper away while rolling. Hint: wet hands helps you to roll and takes away some of the stickiness You should finish with all the wax paper removed. Place seam side down on a serving plate. Refrigerate about 1 hour or until set. Cut into ½ to 1 inch slices Enjoy! Vicky Wolf 5
