A generous spirit is tolerant, kind, and accepting. The generous person gives freely and modestly. Combined with gratitude, generosity is a key to a rewarding life. We have wonderful opportunities to be generous through our guild. We are able to support our guild by donating items to the Quilt Show Boutique and auctions. We have the opportunity to meet many different people at our meetings and through quilting. Our Guild's Charity projects give us the chance to use our skills to enrich the lives of others. This year's project, The Women's Care Center will help young parents care for their newborns. They will be grateful for your hand made and purchased items. There is a need for quilts, blankets, hats, booties - anything a baby would need. Your time and generosity will be gratefully appreciated. Don't forget to bring your donations to the April meeting. This happy, colorful, sweet, and productive meeting will begin with a brief presentation by Sharon Hudy, Director of the Women's Care Center. We'll enjoy the cutest show & tell of the year featuring donations to the Center, vote on the "Cute as a Button" creations (fabulous prize packages will be awarded) and get to work on some additional projects for the moms and babies. Regular show & tell also will take place; wonderful refreshments at the break. In addition to baby quilts, diaper bags, and handmade booties and hats the WCC would be tickled pink to receive new baby clothes and other essentials. Don't miss this social and fun meeting! "Members are asked to bring a sewing scissors and a small ruler. We also need 2 or 3 sewing stations, so if you have a "workshop" sewing machine in a slick little suitcase on wheels, please bring it with some pastel thread. I enjoy drafting my own patterns What is the favorite quilt you ever made, tell us a story. Our 50th anniversary was approaching and I wanted to do a special quilt to commemorate the occasion. I planned a panorama of significate event sin our life. I drew the pictures, then I used each picture as a quick guide to cut out pieces for hand appliqueing the block. The twelve picture blocks are bordered with appliqued hearts and its finished with hand quilting This labor of over took about 6 months to complete and all this took place 19 years ago. ( see Pictures on next page. Ask her to see these pictures uo close at the next meeting) What are your favorite quilt tools? My Bernina Where do you go to have your quilts quilted? 5 Page 5 Meeting Notice for the 2016 Quilt Show There will be a meeting for the 2016 Guild Quilt Show on April 8th at 5:15pm. We will meet at the church before our regular monthly guild meeting. 6 Minutes from the March 12th meeting: The meeting was opened by president, Betty Lerner. Betty welcomed one guest and reminded members to sign in for door prizes and for show and tell. Betty encouraged members to be working on their President s Challenge quilt and said that she had extra art works for those quilts if needed. She also has extra CDs from the 2014 quilt show and guild pins for sale. Patty Martin announced that volunteers or nominations were still needed to chair next year s show and tell and telephone committees. She asked that any committee chairpersons not wanting to continue in their current position to please let her know. Show and Tell Program Carol Butzke presented a program, Cheddar Isn t Just for Cheese, about the color orange and orange dye along with a trunk show illustrating the use of that color. Business Meeting: Block of the Month Christine Sentz and Donna Bilda will be assisting Terri Thomas with the Block of the Month for the rest of this year and next year. There is a correction to the instructions for next month s block. Members are to use bright children s prints in both primary and secondary colors. The winner of this month s blocks is Donna Bilda. Program The April program will be a baby shower for the Women s Care Center. Kelli Effinger showed several crocheted baby hats. The Baby Gift-a-thon was not successful due to a power outage in the area. Another date has been set for Wednesday, March 18 and reminders of needed supplies and directions to the event were provided. During our April meeting all of our gift contributions to the care center will be displayed and we will vote for our favorite. The gifts then will be given to the director of that center. Members were also reminded to bring scissors and ruler to the meeting for a table project. Hospitality The May 13 meeting is a pot luck dinner that will begin at 6 pm. A sign-up sheet was passed around for members to sign up for what item they will bring to the dinner.

7 Minutes continued- Directory A new updated copy of the directory including new members was sent out by today. Photography no report Library There is one new book in the library and there is also a box of free books for members to take from as desired. Web page no report Quilt show There will be a meeting at 5:15 pm on April 8 before our monthly meeting. All committee chairpersons are encouraged to attend. Newsletter Linda Valiga reported that the article highlighting a guild member has been well received. She encourage members to submit a picture and information to her for future newsletters. By Laws Betty Lerner reported that we currently have 86 members and our bylaws limit membership to 95 members. She suggested that we remove the limit since our location is large enough to accommodate more people and a larger membership would benefit the quilt show. A motion was made by Pat Kettner to eliminate the line in the bylaws that states a membership limit and the use of a waiting list. The motion was seconded by Mary Clare Schuller and passed unanimously. Door prize winners were Karen Lorenz, Sharon Bryant, Joanne Bergman, Shirley Dentinger, Pat Barger, Judy Dannenbrink and Sandy Wisler. The meeting was adjourned by Betty Lerner.
