Since then this family business has grown and become a world supplier of wire guide tubes or wire guide nozzles. We now have 4000 sq with Tornos deco and Hardinge lathes, Harig, Agathon, and Botek grinders and induction heat treating equipment. Also our Swiss machining and micro abrasive finishing process has opened doors for medical and military applications which require precision micro gun drilling. Micro gun drilling is a specialty process that requires great attention to detail, at Guideline we enjoy the meticulous jobs that challenge us. 2 Here is the result of our process in which we first gun drill the wire guide from solid tool steel. The machine finish after gun drilling is already below 1 micron Ra To further refine the bore, we use our abrasive flow machining process, which polishes the radius and the bore at the same time. Our target tooling fixtures guide the abrasive putty exactly where it needs to flow. Abrasive flow machining is a process using a liquid polymer and an abrasive which can polish any geometric cavity or hard to reach area. This works well for any deep hole or cavity that is hard to polish with solid materials. At Guideline our tooling department can design a target work holding system for any abrasive flow job. When complex geometric cavities need polishing this is where the abrasive flow process shines. In this field we specialize in hi pressure machining of small holes.
