3 Welcome from the National Diversit y Council As the Founder and CEO of the Oil & Gas Diversity Council, I would like to personally welcome you to the 2015 Oil and Gas Diversity Leadership Roundtable. I am very excited to host this great event that offers an opportunity for you to observe, learn, network, and hear different perspectives from our Leadership Excellence Award winners. These extraordinary individuals have risen above the numerous challenges and barriers barring their paths and achieved success in their distinguished careers. In today s society, diversity and leadership plays a vital role in both the workplace and community. In particular, the oil and gas industry needs accomplished and qualified people that bring innovative and original perspectives to executive offices. This Diversity Leadership Roundtable is but one of the many initiatives of the Oil & Gas Diversity Council aimed at promoting an inclusive and diverse environment where people from all walks of life will be able to share their unique perspectives and viewpoints. I encourage you to take the initiative to meet new colleagues, talk openly about today s workplace leadership topics and exchange ideas, all while expanding your network. It is my hope that your experience today is rewarding and allows you to expand your leadership skills as you strive to fulfill your career goals. 4 P a n e l i s t s Felipe Bayon Senior Vice President BP America Felipe graduated from Universidad de los Andes, Bogota, Colombia in 1989 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Felipe has over 23 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry in business leadership and technical managerial roles within Exploration and Production (E&P), the last 19 of them with BP. Felipe is a member of the Leadership Team of BP America and has a direct reporting line to the Chairman and President of BP America. Since 2005, Felipe has been a member of the BP Upstream Senior Leadership Team. From 2005 to 2010, Felipe was the BP Regional President Southern Cone and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pan American Energy (PAE, a Joint Venture 60% owned by BP). During this period, Felipe led PAE s oil and gas exploration and production operations in Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay and Chile. During his BP career, Felipe served as Head of the BP Exploration and Production Executive Office and was the Chief of Staff to the BP Exploration and Production Chief Executive Officer. His career with BP started in Colombia where he held several positions until he was promoted to BP Colombia Operations Vice President. Beginning January 2015, Felipe was appointed to the Board of Directors of the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In July 2014 Felipe was appointed to the Asia Society Texas Center Board of Directors. From 2012 to 2014, Felipe served in the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. From 2006 to 2010, Felipe was the Chairman of the Argentine Chapter of the Latin American Drilling Safety (LADS) organization. From 2005 to 2010, Felipe served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the British Argentine Chamber of Commerce. Felipe, his wife Maria, and their two children Jose Alejandro and Veronica live in Houston. Maria Martinez Vice President, Human Resources Murphy Oil Maria Martinez works as the Vice President, Human Resources of Murphy Oil Corporation in Houston, Texas. She is responsible for all global human resources programs and activities for the organization which include HR Operations, Training and Development, Global Mobility, Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits. Prior to her current role, Maria led all of Murphy s Human Resources programs for the Exploration and Production business. Martinez joined Murphy in 2010 as Manager, Human Resources with over 13 years experience in human resources in the oil and gas industry. She was promoted to General Manager, Human Resources later that year. Martinez holds bachelor s and master s degrees in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, and she recently completed the Chief Human Resources Executive Education Program with Cornell University ILR School. Maria is married to Cesar Martinez of Houston, TX and has two daughters. She grew up in Houston, TX and enjoys travelling and spending time with family. 4

5 P a n e l i s t s Aamir Farid Regional Vice President Manufacturing Americas Shell Oil Company Aamir assumed the role of Regional Vice President Manufacturing Americas in October In this role Aamir is a member of the global Manufacturing Leadership Team with responsibilities for eight Shell manufacturing sites in Canada, the United States and Argentina. Aamir is the lead Shell executive for Downstream business in Canada and for all Shell businesses in California. Prior to this assignment Aamir served as General Manager of Shell s Deer Park Manufacturing Site which includes a 340M B/D refinery and a Chemical Plant. Aamir s responsibilities included the role of President of Shell Deer Park Refining Company a 50/50 Partnership with Pemex in which Shell is the Operating Partner. He was responsible to a Board of Directors including Shell and Pemex senior leaders. Aamir s previous leadership experiences include a role as Director of Reliability & Maintenance for all Shell and Motiva refineries in the U.S and a term as General Manager of Shell s Bakersfield and Martinez refineries in California. Prior to these senior leadership positions Aamir served in a variety of management positions in Operations, Technology and Health & Safety. Aamir earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University in Upon graduation Aamir joined Shell Oil at the Deer Park refinery and is now completing his 37th year with the company. He currently sits on the boards of the Western States Petroleum Association and the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers. In 2015 Aamir is serving as Chair of the American Petroleum Institute s Refining Committee and is a member of the AFPM/API Process Safety Steering Group. Aamir is currently living in Houston, Texas while his family splits time between Houston and their second home in northern California. Omar Hasan VP Quality, Drilling Products Group Schlumberger Currently, VP for Quality of Drilling Products at Schlumberger. Worked in a variety of Manufacturing and Supply Chain roles in nine years at the company. Prior to that, Omar spent ten year at GE working at a multiple business units including Healthcare, Energy and Infrastructure. His GE experience encompassed responsibilities in Field Operations, Plant Management, Product Development, Reliability Engineering and Six Sigma. A graduate of Imperial College, London and MIT, Omar is interested in organizational efficiencies, advanced manufacturing techniques and talent development. He lives in Sugar Land and is married with four kids. In his spare time, Omar likes to work with refugees in the Houston area, and has also been a volunteer with the prison system for the last four years. 5

6 P a n e l i s t s Frances Vallejo Vice President Corporate Planning & Development ConocoPhillips Frances M. Vallejo is Vice President and Treasurer of ConocoPhillips. Ms. Vallejo joined Phillips Petroleum Company in 1987 as a geophysicist. Following several management assignments, she was appointed Assistant Treasurer of Phillips Petroleum Company. At ConocoPhillips she has served as Assistant Treasurer, as Vice President for Upstream Planning and Portfolio Management, and as General Manager for Corporate Planning and Budgets. She was appointed Vice President and Treasurer of ConocoPhillips in Ms. Vallejo is the recipient of numerous honors. She was named the Female Senior Executive of the Year in 2009 by the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. A native of Pueblo, Colorado, Ms. Vallejo was a Boettcher Scholar and was inducted into the Pueblo, Colorado South High School Hall of Fame in Profiles in Diversity Journal recognized her with its Women Worth Watching in 2011 award. Ms. Vallejo is active in several civic organizations, including the Houston Regional Board of Directors of Teach For America and previously served on the 66 Federal Credit Union Board of Directors. She serves as ConocoPhillips executive contact for Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University as well as Colorado School of Mines, and is the executive sponsor of the ConocoPhillips Hispanic Network. Ms. Vallejo graduated from Colorado School of Mines in 1987 with a B.S, Mineral Engineer-Mathematics. At graduation, she received the Outstanding Senior award from the McBride Honors Program and E. Day Engineer award for the mathematics department. In 1996 Ms. Vallejo received an M.B.A. from Rice University. Ms. Vallejo was appointed to the Colorado School of Mines Board of Trustees in November
