Women in Philanthropy Honoree Sukshma R. Sreepathi, M.D. Dr. Sukshma R. Sreepathi specializes in neonatology and has been a member of the Valley Presbyterian Hospital (VPH) Medical Staff since August 1985.

Sreepathi also completed a fellowship in neonatology/perinatology at Cook County Hospital and Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois in 1985.

2 Women in Philanthropy Honoree Sukshma R. Sreepathi, M.D. Dr. Sukshma R. Sreepathi specializes in neonatology and has been a member of the Valley Presbyterian Hospital (VPH) Medical Staff since August She received her Medical Degree from Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad, India in 1977 and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois in Dr. Sreepathi also completed a fellowship in neonatology/perinatology at Cook County Hospital and Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois in She is board-certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine and is the president of the Tri-Valley Medical Group. She is an excellent role model and leader for the Hospital s physicians, employees and especially for the patients she serves. She was appointed chief of the medical staff in 2014 for a two-year term and was the first women to serve in this capacity. Additionally, Dr. Sreepathi serves on the Hospital s medical executive committee and she is also a member of the Hospital s governing board. As an active leader in the medical field, she was interviewed by the American Health Journal about her expertise in neonatology and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at VPH. She is a member of several medical associations including the American Medical Association, California Medical Association, Los Angeles County Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Perinatal Advisory Council of Los Angeles Communities. Women in Philanthropy_Invite.indd 4-6 Women s and Children s Services Department at Valley Presbyterian Hospital Thank you for your participation in our first Annual Women in Philanthropy Awards Luncheon. Your contribution towards today s luncheon provides funding for the Women and Children Services Department at Valley Presbyterian Hospital (VPH). Since 1958, the Women and Children Services Department has offered multiple clinical specialties, employs 150 nurses and clinical professionals who, as a team, deliver more than 250 babies each month. In addition to offering high quality patient care, the department and the Hospital s community education department works together to host dozens of community education programs. These programs address topics such as childbirth and delivery, breast feeding support and classes to help new mothers and their families prepare for a new baby at home. Last year, more than 2,000 women and their families attended and or participated in free community education classes. Recently, the Department was awarded Baby Friendly status from UNICEF. This award is presented to hospitals who commit to encouraging and supporting women who choose to breast feed their newborns. The journey to become a Welcome Baby hospital sometimes takes many years and VHP is proud that our nurses and community education professionals who increased patient breast feeding by more than 55%. The Department is also responsible for leading the Hospital s efforts for the Welcome Baby program. Welcome Baby, sponsored by the County of Los Angeles through First 5LA, supports women and their families by providing education, training and access to community resources to ensure every baby has a good start in life. Women in Philanthropy Honoree Executive Vice, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Credit Officer Ms. received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. She also studied abroad at the Sorbonne Institute in Paris under the Hamilton College Program. Anne began her career in the Chase Manhattan Bank commercial training program and continued to lead a successful career in the industry. Upon moving to California, Anne served as the Chief Credit Officer for Pacific Century Bank which was later acquired by US Bank. During the acquisition, Ms. Williams continued to serve as Chief Credit Officer for now US Bank and later was appointed Credit Risk Manager for the state of California s Commercial Banking market. In 2005 Anne along with other shareholders founded (CUB) with an initial equity of $35 million and the largest in the history of California. Accompanied by her business success, is an active leader in the Greater Los Angeles community. She has served on the Board of s for multiple organizations including the Los Angeles Local Development Corporation, as well as the California Economic Development Lending Initiative. Anne currently volunteers lending her expertise to the Valley Economic Development Center s (VEDC) Financial Restructuring Loan Program, the San Fernando Valley Financial Development Corporation and the VEDC Small Business Administration Microloan Program. Through Anne s support, CUB has been an annual sponsor of the Hospital s Celebration of Excellence Gala and Golf Classic.
