5 TECH DRIVE 2.0 Alan Butler Retires After 39 Years In Construction Alan Butler is retiring after nineteen years as a Business Developer for WEAVERCOOKE. Alan has been our primary point of contact for the senior living marketing, and has helped us to develop strong, on-going relationships with CCRC s throughout North Carolina. WEAVERCOOKE s second Semi-Annual Tech Drive took place on Friday, May 1st and Friday, May 7th. Between the two collection dates, WEAVERCOOKE collected 3,178 pounds of technology. By recycling this technology, we raised $ for Greensboro Urban Ministries. This was in addition to the food donations we collected at the Company Meeting. Greensboro Urban Ministries opened its first shelter for the homeless in 1981 and has since instituted a number of programs to combat homelessness and hunger in the Greensboro area, including the Pathways Center, Weaver House Singles Shelter, Potter s House Community Kitchen, Project Independence, and Partnership Village. Urban Ministry fulfills its mission by offering emergency financial assistance, food assistance, emergency and transitional shelter, and rapid re-housing in the Greensboro area. WEAVERCOOKE s Tech Drives have raised over $800 total for Urban Ministries. We have also donated over 500 pounds of food to Urban Ministries through these events. Alan graduated with a Bachelor of the Arts from Campbell University. He began his career in 1976 as Marketing Director for Hayes Howell & Associates, an architecture firm. He worked at two other architecture and engineering firms before signing on as Vice President of J.M. Thompson Company, where he worked for five years. Alan became Vice President of Client Services for WEAVERCOOKE in 1996 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in Alan s official retirement day was June 30, Tina McLeod will continue to develop the relationships that Alan established while with WEAVERCOOKE. 5 6
