2 KEYNOTE SPEAKER DAN HAMPTON Chicago Bears Hall of Famer/Super Bowl Champion/Fox 32 Chicago Dan Hampton also known as "Danimal" was born September 19, 1957 and is a retired Hall of Fame American football defensive tackle who played twelve seasons for the Chicago Bears from 1979 to 1990 in the National Football League. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Previously hosted pre- and post-game shows for the Bears on WGN Radio in Chicago. Hampton was drafted by the Bears in the first round of the 1979 draft and on June 27, 1979, he signed a four-year $470,000 contract with the club that included a $160,000 signing bonus. In 1979 he was voted All-Rookie by the Pro Football Writers Association. His fierce style of play earned him the nickname of "Danimal". He was selected to four Pro Bowls and was a key defensive member of the Bears' Super Bowl XX win against the New England Patriots in During Hampton's tenure in Chicago ( ), the Bears defense ranked #1 in the NFL in allowing the fewest rushing yards, the fewest rushing touchdowns, the fewest total yards, the fewest points and inflicted the most sacks. "A lot of times in football, it's not so much the stat, but how you play the game. If that's the measuring stick, then Dan Hampton played the game as well as anybody." Dan Hampton retired from the Chicago Bears after the 1990 season. In 1990 Hampton was the recipient of the George S. Halas Courage Award by the Pro Football Writers Association which is given to the player or coach who "has performed with abandon despite injury". Hampton was selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in He was inducted with Washington Redskins head coach George Allen, Oakland Raiders tight end Dave Casper, Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver John Stallworth." KEYNOTE SPEAKER LOU CANELLIS Fox 32 Chicago Sports Anchor Lou Canellis shares his enthusiasm about sports with Chicagoans every night on FOX 32 News at 5pm & 9pm. Lou also is the main anchor of Fox s 30 minute sports show, The Final Word every Sunday night. He has followed local teams his entire life and has an extensive sports background. During the Bears season, Lou can be seen on Sundays throughout the day on Fox 32 Chicago. He hosts Fox Kickoff Sunday with Chicago Bears Hall of Famer Dan Hampton at 10am, followed by Bears Game Day Live with former Chicago Bear Tom Thayer & the voice of the Bears, Jeff Joniak at 10:30am. Lou also hosts Chicago Bears game-day watch parties around the city & suburbs with fans before returning to anchor The Final Word with Dan Hampton at 10pm, plus Bears Game Night Live at 10:35pm. Canellis has been going to Bears games since he was four year's old, and has been a season ticket holder since he was six. "Sweet Lou", as he is known, also shares his expertise of the Bears on various radio stations throughout the city on a daily basis. Canellis first became popular in his hometown as a member of the Chicago Bulls broadcasts on TV and radio. Canellis handled pregame and postgame duties along with being a sideline reporter and was well-known for his post-game chats with Michael Jordan. A Loyola University graduate, Canellis considers himself a "South Sider," having been born and raised in Oak Lawn. Lou and the family are members at Sts Constantine & Helen Church in Palos Hills. Lou and his wife Monica, a realtor with BHHS KoenigRubloff, keep busy with their 4 lb Yorkie, Chachi.
