2 The Tampa HERALD Page 2 April 2011 The Heralds bring home the trophy! The Tampa Chapter is Sunshine District Chorus Champion and AAAA Plateau Champion, with a score of 942/78.5. A few quartets with members from the Tampa Chapter also made news this past weekend. Double Play is the Seniors District Champion, and Flashback and Main Street qualified to sing in Kansas City at the International Contest this July. Congratulations guys! You were awesome! Congratulations also to The PURSUIT, and college quartets iquartet and Click for qualifying for International. iquartet was also named the College Quartet Champion of the District. There was excellent competition this contest. We ve got a lot of talent in this district! And, on top of all that, this convention was almost a record breaker with 1095 attendees. Hope you were there. It was a great weekend. The official score sheets for all the quartets and choruses are now posted on the district website. Double Play Flashback Congratulations!(More pictures on page 7)

6 The Tampa HERALD Page 6 April 2011 Carrollwood Cultural Center On March 26th and 27th the Carrollwood Cultural Center held their annual Arts in The Park event. There were many performers on deck that weekend along with our award winning Heralds of Harmony! Kent Jenkins, assisted by Brian Weber and Andrew Wheeler, directed 28 Heralds in 13 songs. The more we sang the more people came to listen. Many told us of how they enjoyed our show. Thanks to our directors of the weekend for an excellent performance under the blistering sun. In addition to singing, the Heralds of Harmony also had a booth at the event to educate the local community about the organization. The booth displayed the Heralds DVD, played the This Joint is Jumping CD, recruited Christmas ticket sales and held a Singing Valentine raffle. Thank you Steve Matheson for organizing the booth, Mark Tuttle for loaning us the tent for the booth, and Joe McCarthy for loaning the inverter that allowed us to run John Santamaria s DVD player and monitor. Also thank you to those that helped man the booth over the two days: Al Kelly, Julie Kelly, Bruce Yeager, Bill Weatherford, Marty Port, Brad Grabill, Ed McKenzie, Dave Roberts, Art McNeil, Keith Starks, Rhonda Starks, Chuck Steiner, Matt Sullivan, Dick Sipple, Liz Sipple, Bill Phipps, Pam Scalise, Bob Buhlmann, Lauren Pennington and Sheri Matheson. Thank you to everyone that attended and worked that weekend. Great Job everyone!

The video was a grant-funded, major project of the HoH Board and the Marketing Team. Check it out by clicking here. I bet you see some youngsters you recognize! Share it will all your friends! Our new Groupanizer site is administered by Larry Clapp, John Pennington, and Dave Roberts. It is their job to match the Groupanizer functions to support the Leadership team in the management of the chapter. We are always looking for new ideas and unique ways to employ the software. Please don t hesitate to share your ideas with any of the three administrators. The May 1st Allegro Show in Citrus County is an excellent example of how planned attendance helps with chorus management. Currently, we have 27 singers signed up to perform. If you haven t signed up, then sign on and update your attendance plan (My Attendance Plan). This is a paid performance that requires all hands on deck. Get Your Gear Here!
