4 Introduction Hi there and welcome to my third WSO. In this book I have kept things really simple - I am going to outline the system that I have used to make $1,445 in the last 9 days. There is no fluff in this report because I know you want to get on and make some money for yourself. But I did want to take the opportunity to tell you that 1. It is definitely possible to make an income online; 2. That you will be doing yourself an injustice if you don't believe you can make money online; AND MOST IMPORTANTLY 3. Making money online is not easy; it does take work; but it is so very possible and you can start seeing results in just 24 hours. So who am I? Welcome my name is Lisa Oliver, and I am a freelance writer, an art student, a wife and mother of grown children - plus a grandmother!! In other words I am an ordinary person - just like you. I don't live in a fancy mansion - I live in a little 2-bdrm cottage 100 yards from one of the loveliest remote beaches in Northland, NZ. I drive an 18 year old Subaru that has definitely seen better days but it gets me from A to B. Basically I am me. I have not worked in a J.O.B. for more than twenty years. Yet I have been making money from a heap of different ways, all online and all for less than $100 per month (most times free). If you are tired of hype; and want to work at something that you can tweak, you can grow and you can do when you want to - and still make money; then this is for you. I have not reinvented the wheel here; if you have been around for a little while then you are not going to learn a lot of new tricks and tips; but the secret to this success is not what I do, but how I do it - and the best way to explain that is to show you. So enough about me - let's get on with this. Let me show you how I make my money. 4

5 A Quick Overview First off I want to show you a quick overview of this system and what I want you to do. As mentioned in the title this system has three different tiers - they all serve a different purpose; and they can all be tweaked to suit your personal needs. Level One: The Quick Money Money in 24 hours; Usually short term Small amounts of money, but can be ramped up or outsourced for later profits This money can be used to fund Level Two and Three if you want it too. Level Two: Your Bread and Butter Solid work; usually offering service or product Takes time to set up and get going but is a guaranteed way of making money online Plenty of options to suit the amount of time you can spare; the level of skills you have and your own interests This is your own online "job" - where you call the shots but you are still exchanging time for money Level Three: The Residuals - the Holy Grail of the Internet Starts to get set-up in between working on the other two levels Involves doing things once and getting paid for it over and over again with little or no additional effort. 5

6 Level One: Getting Started I figure that if you are reading this then you don't want to be spending any more money online; you want to start making some. So the first thing you are going to do is sign up at Fiverr.com. For those of you, who already know about Fiverr.com, don't go rolling your eyes. The money you are going to make there will come in quickly and you can use it to fund other parts of Levels Two and Three: So sign up for a free account. If you have not heard of Fiverr.com before, it is a site where people post a lot of useful, funny and plain weird things that they are prepared to do for $5. Now the $5 amount is a bit misleading because after the site takes their $1 fee, you get $4 per project finished, but the whole idea is that you do little jobs that are really quick to finish, and you do a lot of them. For our purposes here aim to make $40 - $50 although $20 is more than enough to get you started on the next level. If you want ideas for gigs that are quick and easy to do, try any or all of the following; Find free submission software through Google and offer the submission services through Fiverr.com - examples for this could be directory submission, article submission, search engine submission, RSS feed submission, video submission and PR releases submission. Article to podcast service - they send you the article; you read it into your microphone using Audacity or similar free software and send them back their MP3 file - or offer them a podcast submission service for an extra fiver. Article to Video service - using PowerPoint presentation create some slides of the text from the article. Then using CamStudio (free) software create a video file using either a voice over, or some music as the audio part of the video. If you are looking for music you can use commercially without paying for it - check out Jamedo.com and do a search for musical works that can be used for commercial purposes. 6

7 Other things you could also use is creating drawings from photographs (Photoshop); sending postcards from your region; writing short blog posts on niche blogs; posting for forums; offering useful reports. Fiverr.com is a really great site because there are so many things you can do for other people and get paid for. You may be wondering why I have mentioned using this for about the first two weeks only, when there are some WSO's that are claiming you can make $100 or more per day from the site. Valid point: but in my experience with Fiverr.com I have made money with new accounts for about two weeks, but then unless you have made a lot of sales and got heaps of feedback, your gigs are going to be buried by others. If this happens your sales will dry up. So I personally don't recommend thinking this is a long term idea, but I do know there are people on WF who do make a good little income from the site - so it is up to you really. PAID GIG IDEA: If you have a spare $5 go to Autosurfmyth.com 1 - pay $5 for 10,000 credits and then offer 1,000 visitors to your clients websites on Fiverr.com - for $5 per time - it takes you less than five minutes to input your clients site into your Autosurfmyth.com dashboard and you can turn your five dollars into $50 once you have sold all 10,000 credits. FIVERR OPTIONS: There are other sites like Fiverr.com - some that pay more money. For example JobsFor10.com; tenbux.com and instantgigs.com (brand new). You can sign up for them as well to increase the amount of exposure your different gigs can get. LONGER TERM IDEA: Outsource the work you get and keep promoting your gigs. ANOTHER QUICK MONEY IDEA: As a bonus to this report you could now watch the video on "Selling Stuff" - This video was one of 12 I have included in another WSO I have running, and highlights three sites you can sell things through. 1 An affiliate link - if you prefer not to use it just go to 7

8 Level Two: The Bread and Butter This is where I make most of my money at the moment. I work as a ghostwriter - creating content that my clients can use as their own products, web pages, or article marketing tools. You can offer whatever services and skills you have through a lot of different sites online. If you want to attract customers for free then the first thing you need is your own blog or website. Because we are doing this for free I recommend that you set up your own services on Blogger.com. Blogger.com is free to use, and has some reasonably good plug-ins that go with it such as Adsense and Amazon gadgets, slideshows of your pictures, polls to keep your visitors interested and interactive, and other funny little things that can add to your own content. It is also owned by Google and therefore loved by Google. If you have not used Blogger before you can watch the bonus video "Signing up for Blogger". The video was created for the other WSO I am running at the moment, so ignore the references to CB Wealth Formula as you work through it. Now on this blog you want to include some samples of your work, some posts about the type of services you offer and some prices. The client will also need to have some way of contacting you so include as many contact details as you feel comfortable with. If you are going into this for the long term, like I have, then you might want to spend a bit of money getting your own domain name, and some hosting so that you can set up your own WordPress blog. This will set you back less than $20 and it is worth it for the long term. You can see an example of my writing services page at How Can I Make Money Today?. One thing you need to remember if you are putting up sample works anywhere online is that you can get your work ripped off - so watermark your work wherever possible; or submit partial works as samples so that it won't be of any use to anybody else. You will see on my site I have set up an autoresponder form so 8

9 that people can receive samples of my work; and I have included a Gmail address for clients to contact me with any questions they might have. Okay where to get the clients? You can sign up for "bidding" sites such as Elance.com, Freelancer.com and ODesk.com. When you have gone through the signup procedures (they are all a little different) you can put bids on work you are interested in doing. If you have a good reputation on the WF then you can put a link to your service website page in your signature file, for people to click through to. For this to be really effective you should take the time to post regularly (everyday if possible); and to offer good advice so that readers on the forum can see you are a decent person and one they might be keen on doing business with. Once you have a bit of experience under your belt, then you can use a bit of the money you have made online to set up a Warrior for Hire gig. The Warriors are a good type of client to have. The sales information link I showed you on the previous page is a copy of the Warrior for Hire post I have running on WF - you can see that here. It costs $40 to create a WFH thread. Remember writing is just one of hundreds of different services you can offer people online. If you are not good at creating your own content you could do graphics, logos and banners. Play around with your graphics program (I use Photoshop) and set up some samples and post them to your blog, and use them as samples when you are applying for work on bidding sites. Website design, transcription and translation services; blog and forum posting are all good "jobs" you can get to earn you money on a regular basis. The purpose of this level is to get you into the habit of earning some regular money online - good money. So rather than be nervous about it; just get on and do it anyway. If you are earning some good money through offering your skills and services, then you can create for yourself the time (and the extra money if you want to spend it) to create the products and systems you will need for Level Three. 9

10 Level Three: The Holy Grail of IM - Residual Income You should be feeling really good by now because you have been earning some money online; you know it is possible, and now that your financial worries have been put on the back burner you can start to create your own forms of residual income. There are a number of different ways you can do this but in this report I am going to concentrate on three of them - Creating your own products through Public Domain works; Setting up Adsense sites and Creating your own membership site model. Creating your own products from Public Domain works. Public domain works are texts, books, photographs and even some video footage that were published before There are some later works that are also considered in the public domain, but the criteria for that can get complicated, so for your first set of products you will want to concentrate on works that were published before The idea behind public domain works is that no-one owns the copyright to the material, so you can use it as though you had written it yourself 2. There are a lot of sources of public domain works online but the biggest one is Project Gutenberg. You can watch the video included as a bonus with this WSO on how to create your own product using public domain works. Once you have a product you can set up your own Blogger blog to host the sales page or you can set up your own domain and hosting with WordPress on it (recommended). AS an additional money maker you can include affiliate products in the same niche on your site to give your visitors a chance to buy more than one product; and don't forget to use about 10 pages of your new 2 If you live outside of the United States you may need to check the copyright laws as they apply in your country of residence to confirm your own counties legislation regarding copyright and public domain works. 10

11 product to create a free report that you can use for list building. There is another video you can watch about setting up an autoresponder included with this WSO. While these Level Three ideas can cost you a bit of money, it is money well spent. For this public domain works idea your "shopping list" can include; Own domain name - less that $10 for a dot com and even less for a dot info (about $2.00) - that will register your domain for a year. I recommend GoDaddy and you can usually get a discount on your domain purchase by searching for a "promo code" on Google. Web hosting - your virtual real estate - I strongly recommend Hostgator.com which will set you back $4.99 per month for a single domain; or if you plan to create more than one site over time (recommended, lol) then you can get the "Baby" plan which allows you to host unlimited domains for $9.00 per month. Autoresponder - free trial with GetResponse.com or take advantage of Aweber's $1 trial for a month and then $19.99 per month thereafter - you can host as many lists as you like with Aweber so if you are setting up a long term business then this too is "recommended". And if you don't want to do the searching, compiling and editing work yourself then you can always outsource the work to somebody else. Rates for that will vary depending on the amount of rewriting you might want done, design aspects and things like that. Personally for your first few projects I recommend that you do the work yourself and take a series of screen capture videos as you go along, so that you can then share them with your outworkers. Your action plan for this idea is simple. 1. Find some long-tailed keywords that you can compete for 2. Find a public domain work (or works) that you can use to create your own product 3. Get an appropriate keyword rich domain name and web hosting (unless you already have them) 4. Set up a "buy now" button in Paypal or through a similar payment processor 11

12 5. Set up a sales page with your payment button included (don't forget a lead capture form) - no web skills - use WordPress 6. Set up a thank you page so your buyers can download the product they have bought. 7. Upload your pdf copy of your product to your web host (file manager) 8. Drive traffic to your offers - short term can include PPC, RSS feeds, and search engine submission; longer term article and video marketing, press releases, Hub and Squidoo pages, forum participation and blog commenting 9. Rinse and repeat. Setting up Adsense Sites If you want something you can set up quickly and easily then you can set up content rich Adsense sites. These sites can be set up and then virtually forgotten especially if you include an automated content plug in, or have content written for you on a weekly basis. The keyword rich content will help you rank in Google and other search engines and as this has a snowball effect (grows naturally over time) that is basically all you have to do. One of the secrets to successful Adsense sites is picking your keywords carefully. You want ones that you can rank for on Google, but that are in a popular enough niche that they give a good return per click. One good idea is to create sites based on product names, celebrities and other trends. Adding "buyer keywords" to your sites would also allow you to promote affiliate products and CPA offers on the same pages (in the side bar of your blog content for example). If you are planning an Adsense site empire then I would strongly recommend that you buy a product like Market Samurai or Micro Niche Finder to help with the keyword research - this can save you a lot of time and money in the long run. Your best platform for an Adsense site is a blog - WordPress, which you can install for free through your Hostgator.com hosting CPanel (look for Fantastico). I strongly, strongly suggest that you 12

13 do not use free sites to create your Adsense sites - you do not have control over them and you can end up losing all of your hard work if someone objects to the commercial nature of your site. Getting content for your site is a matter of personal preference. Some ideas you could use are Use a Google news plug in that refreshes and updates regularly Outsource 3-5 blog posts per week to someone else - can cost you as little as $20 per week and you will have guaranteed original content Write your own blog posts on one day per week and schedule the release of that content over the week so it appears natural Use a service like Blogomator.com that will take content from Ezinearticles.com and put it on your site, in accordance with keywords that you nominate (Costs $9.99 per month for unlimited sites) Use PLR articles Use articles from EZA - copy and paste them, but don't forget to include all of the author's bio and links otherwise you are not being fair to the authors, or adhering to EZA's terms and conditions The more content that you have the more likely you are to get on the first page of Google for your keywords. If you include other types of content like YouTube videos, images or audio files you can also appeal to a wider range of users. Remember to keep everything keyword rich without being over the top about it (becomes keyword spamming). Your Action Plan for this Idea: 1. Do your keyword research - use paid tools like Market Samurai or free tools like Google Adwords Keyword tools 2. Do your keyword research again - this time look for LSI terms (keywords in the same niche, but not part of your keyword list) 3. Create a new Adsense channel for in text and content searches, for your new site (copy the code to a note pad until you need it) 13

14 4. Set up your new site - you will need a keyword rich domain (if possible); your hosting of course and if you do not know about creating websites use WordPress 5. Install pages on your site for Terms and Conditions, Contact Us, About, Disclaimer policies - this is part of the Adsense terms of use policy so do it on every site you create. 6. Put at least 3 articles (posts) on the site to start it off 7. Insert your code from Google Adsense so that it can start putting links on your page 8. Arrange to have more content added to your site through the ideas listed above, but don't schedule it yet 9. Ping your site and arrange for it to be submitted to RSS feed sites so that it will be indexed in Google faster 10. When your site has been indexed in Google then start scheduling more content over time. 11. Rinse and repeat That is it for your Adsense sites - once you get used to the process you should be able to easily create and install one of these in just four hours - less if you already have the content ready. NOTE ABOUT USING WORDPRESS: I have mentioned using Wordpress as a platform for you new sites for a good reason - they are easy to use and free to use. But an added bonus to using Wordpress is that they also have some great free plug-ins that can increase the traffic to your site. Two great ones to have are Google XML Sitemap and All-in-one-SEO. Creating Your Own Membership Site Model Membership sites are one of the best ways of making a residual monthly income; but a lot of marketers steer clear of this business model because 1) they are worried they don't have enough content to warrant a membership site; and 2) they think they have to buy expensive software to run their membership site with. 14

15 That means that if you do decide to go with this type of long term business model, and you chose your niche carefully, you can build up a good solid business with very little competition. Now I am going to make a personal observation here - I don't think you should build a membership site in the "make money niche". This is my personal opinion for two reasons - 1) there is too much competition in this niche and very little new information and 2) most people that buy in the make money niche are looking for the next "shiny toy", so unless you can deliver really compelling content that will work for your members (i.e. they will make money) quickly then they are going to unsubscribe fairly quickly. Please note this is just my personal opinion - at the end of the day you are building your business and you can use any niche that you like. The simplest way of building a membership site is to use your autoresponder to deliver the content: That way all you need on your site is your sales page, a lead capture form (always a good idea because you can keep promoting your membership and other products to your list), a free report and a thank you page. Your messages can be scheduled to run as regularly as you like (daily, weekly, monthly) and the whole thing can really be put on auto-pilot. The great thing about running a membership site is that you do not have to have all of the content available for your members before you launch the site. You would have a minimum of a month's worth of content available when you launch your site, and then add to the content through that month, for the next month, and so on. If you use a fixed term membership (expires after a certain number of months) then once you have reached the amount of content you have promised for that number of months, the membership site itself can run on autopilot. NOTE: Even if you don't have all of the content prepared when you launch your membership offer, make sure that you have a plan of the content you are going to offer for the life of the membership. If the membership is on-going then you will need to keep adding content over time, but of course you can outsource 15

16 content creation if you find the niche you are targeting is popular and you have a lot of active members. Another way you can set up a membership site is using Wordpress and a few plug-ins. You can get plug-ins that will password various pages on your site (where you would put your member's only content); or you can password the whole site. I have listed a few plug-ins you can use (paid and free versions 3 ) but of course there are new plug-ins being released everyday - a Google search will let you know of any new additions. MemberWing 4 The new free Wordpress membership plug-in MemberWing allows to convert your existing blog into membership site without any changes or re-designs. By inserting small text marker {+++} inside any article (old or new) the content of it will become protected and available only to registered premium members. Simply put anything that was before the marker is visible for everyone so put your teasers here. Anything after the {+++} marker will only be visible to users who are Gold or Platinum members. This is great feature that allows search engines to index and rank free text teasers part of your blog/website. Once activated, plug-in created 4 separate group members Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. So you may (if wanted to) have 4 classes of contents and charge fees accordingly to access each class of contents. The way you mark contents of your articles for each group is the same simple one via markers that separate free teasers from premium juicy part. {+} Bronze members, {++} Bronze and Silver members, {+++} Bronze, Silver and Gold members, etc.. Membership plug-in MemberWing supports latest version of selfhosted WordPress 2.6+ and works on any hosted account that allows Wordpress installations. 3 Information for these plug-ins was first accessed at 4 None of these membership site links are affiliate links - they go directly to the selling site. 16

17 There are 3 payment options, Free, $ (Pro), and $295 (unlimited) the free plug-in doesn t support Gradual Content delivery, affiliate management, intelligent mixing of different levels of content, Aweber integration, recurring payments, etc, and it also has a link-back to the main site. Suma WordPress Subscription Management and Billing plug-in (Suma) Suma is plug-in component for the WordPress publishing system. It provides Subscription Management and Billing functionality which transforms WordPress into a pay-to-view, subscriptionbased content publishing platform. With Suma, an administrator can restrict access to a WordPress website s pages, posts and comments to paid subscribers only. Non-subscribers see only the title, or excerpt of the post depending on the administrator s preference. It is $199 and provides a free 14 day trial. Members Only Members Only is a WordPress plug-in that allows you to make your blog only viewable to visitors that are logged in. If a visitor is not logged in, they will be redirected either to the WordPress login page or a page of your choice. Once logged in they can be redirected back to the page that they originally requested. You can also protect your feeds whilst allowing registered user access to them by using Feed Keys. Your Members Your Members is a feature packed Membership Management Plugin allowing anyone to turn a WordPress Blog into a fully functioning members site which can accept payments through Paypal. It costs $50 for a single site option 17

18 WP-Member Create unlimited membership levels and select which post, page and category can be viewed by each membership level. Select one or multiple membership levels per post, page & category and wp- Member will automatically manage users subscriptions, payments, and access rights. This one costs around $27 per year per site and has a 1 week free trial. Currently running a 25% off discount coupon various license and support options available WP Members Site Plug-in This is a brand new WordPress membership plug-in (released this month), and costs $47: * The ability to charge one-time or recurring monthly fees. * The ability to set your membership price. * Full integration with the WordPress User management system. * The ability to tag text to make portions of posts and pages visible to non-paying members as teaser text. * A payment page that you can redirect user to from teaser pages, the generic registration page, or by sending the actual page link. Warrior Forum Special Offer link here - not sure if it is still valid. For ideas on how to get content for your site check out the Adsense site information in the previous section. If you are creating a "how-to" membership then you will probably want to go with a fixed term model that can handle the "introductory" or "basic" skill levels and then you can offer your members an "Advanced" option that they can start paying for once they have worked through the first course. Other ideas for membership sites could include; A "something" a day - tips, jokes, quotes, weird world, videos, doesn't matter what the niche is so long as it is something that you can make 365 posts on, and that is not already freely available online already. How-to tutorials - cooking, knitting, scrapbooking, art skills, starting a business from home, ghost hunting, witchcraft, the list is basically endless. Just make sure your topic has some 18

19 easily definable steps you can use to break up your content into daily, weekly or monthly bits PLR content Ebook content Services - full Wordpress blogs with content, niche blogs, templates, graphics, videos Educational topics - learning another language, mathematics, handling money, budgeting Travel tips for the big O.E. Pet training Baby and toddler training As you can see I have only scratched the surface of what you can include in a membership site. I haven't mentioned making money topics or collectible niches and so on and so on. You are honestly only limited by your imagination and if you have a passion for a popular hobby then you can make a membership site out of what you know. Your Action Plan for a Membership Site 1. Chose your niche - do your keyword research first - you want to know there is a need for your information 2. Collect up enough content to last at least one month 3. Work out how you are going to deliver that content and prepare your membership site model accordingly 4. Create a sales page, and thank you page (plus the Terms and Conditions, About, Contact, Disclaimer pages) 5. Test your payment and content delivery process 6. Drive traffic to your offer - forums, blogs, article and video marketing are a good idea to promote niche specific membership sites 7. Add more content as your membership site grows 8. Rinse and Repeat Now you will have noticed that I did not include things like getting a domain name, and hosting or autoresponders in this action plan - that is because getting a domain and hosting, or using an autoresponder will depend a lot on what type of membership model you are going to create. Plus which we have already covered those steps in the previous action plans and if your membership site is an extension of other Level Two or Three 19

20 activities then getting a specific domain name and hosting might not be necessary. If you are using your autoresponder to deliver content you can use free pages from Blogger.com or Weebly.com to set up your Sales page, some content (to show that you know what you are talking about) and your Thank you pages. 20

21 Concluding Remarks Well that is how I do it, what are you going to do? You will notice that my earning figures show varying amounts - I still make most of my money through ghost writing, but I also sell my own products through my sites; my affiliate earnings are still quite low as are my Adsense earnings but I deliberately targeted keywords that were really competitive - they are a long term plan rather than a short term one.
