1 Sketchbook Assignment Sketchbooks should be kept with you- that means they come to class, they go home as well. These sketchbooks are intended to help you organize your thoughts keep all of your artistic inspirations in one book. Your sketchbook will be an archive of your artistic process throughout the year, will be an accurate representation of your growth development as an artist. Sketchbooks are an important resource for artists. Your sketchbook should act as a visual diary, as a way to have a conversation with yourself, to help you brainstorm, to help you unwind, to help you practice a skill without consequence. The wonderful thing about sketchbooks is that this is your own. You will not be graded solely on the quality of work- you will also be graded on your ability to use this tool to your benefit. Each entry should be titled dated (for example, One point perspective lesson, 1/15/16 ), if you are drawing from the sketchbook prompt list, the entry should be numbered to correspond with the assignment (for example, Illustrate a song #28, 2/10/16). Every TWO weeks, sketchbooks will be hed in, checked, hed back the following week. Your sketchbook will be checked for notes taken in class, initial sketches that should occur before beginning a final drawing, artist research sketchbook from the list. You may reuse sketchbook up to three times, to explore different interpretations of the same prompt.
