Submittal Drawings 5 1 imos 1.1 Submittal Drawings Precondition The AutoCAD System variable DIMASSOC must be set = 2. It is necessary that this setting is saved in the template (imos.dwt) or the drawing General imos offers a new workflow-oriented and easy to use drawing derivation. Derivations of layouts, view and cuts can be created in a simple way. In addition to the manual dimensioning imos offers an automatic dimensioning here as well. This dimension is also associative, which means instead of manually adjusting several 2D- drawing derivations for modifications on the original, they can be automatically taken for the derivations. It is also possible with this associative connection to add objects/parts to the cuts or to delete them from it again. With the support of link symbols the process of the cutting are displayed in the layout or the view. In addition to the dimensioning functions there is the possibility to automatically insert labels (for example article names) in the cutting drawing. imos 2Dsymbolism supports when outputting drawings. Thereby objects such as doors, flaps or drawers can be replaced by 2D-symbols. Furthermore, it is possible to display inside elements in the cuts. It also enables to circulate the drawing to external systems without any problems, because a conversion or preparation of the data is not necessary.

Submittal Drawings 6 You find the functions for that on the new tab Drawing Views in the groups 2D Drawing View and Section.

Submittal Drawings 7 The functions are described shown in the displayed kitchen below.

Submittal Drawings Creation functions D Layout In order to do this, a 2D layout of the kitchen is created first. Here it is a cut which is automatically set just above the highest article through the room. After calling the function, all elements for the cut must be picked. The procedure is the same as with the manual setting of the cuts here. This means that a window can be spanned with the mouse to include all elements. Please, note that the walls must be completely selected to apply them in the cut. Besides, it is important to ensure that only 3D solids can be displayed in the cut. For example, purchased parts consisting of 3D surfaces are not displayed in the cut

Submittal Drawings D Elevation View Afterwards a 2D view can be derived from this 2D layout. After calling the function, the request to select the cut block reference appears in the menu bar. Select the 2D layout here from which the view should be derived. Afterwards the insertion point for the cutting line must be selected. This cutting line is symbolized by the so-called flag. The insertion point and the rotation direction define the cutting level of the 2D view.

Submittal Drawings 10 If the insertion point has been defined, then the rotation angle in the drawing must be defined and therefore the view direction and the cutting level. The rotation angle can be defined by moving the mouse. The flag rotates in 90 steps. Die gestrichelte Linie symbolisiert die Schnittebene. After obtaining the desired position, click with the mouse in the drawing to confirm this. The flag also has a reference for the created cut which means the number of the view is shown in the flag.

Submittal Drawings 11 In the next step the cut is filed in the drawing and finally the insertion point of the labelling is selected.

Submittal Drawings Create sloped cuts If a 2D view of an article is created, which is sloped in the room, for example, the cut is automatically orthogonal or parallel created to the front of the selected article Delete 2D elevation view For deleting the created cut (2D layout or view) again, then use the function delete cut.

Submittal Drawings Manueller Schnitt durch 2D Ansicht It is also possible to set a cut manually with a 2D view. Please, note that every article to be applied in the cut has to be picked in the 2D view.

Submittal Drawings Modification functions Subsequently moving the cutting level If you notice that the layout has been cut on the wrong position after creating the 2D view, then the view can be either deleted via the function delete cut and regenerated afterwards or the flag can be moved. For moving, mark the flag in the drawing with the mouse and call the function move via the context menu. Afterwards move it to the desired point: For applying the modifications on the already generated cut, call the function update cut and pick the cut with the mouse.

Submittal Drawings Update Section For example, if a 2D view has already been created, but the material name should not be displayed in the section. Then the function update cut can be used so that the imos section option dialog can be called. After calling the function, the request appears to select an object. Here the 2D view must be picked to show the current settings of the section in the dialog. Now activate modify settings and deactivate the option material name. Afterwards confirm the modification with enter so that the section is updated and the material name is not displayed.

Submittal Drawings Dimensioning Dimensioning view After creating all cuts, these can be still automated dimensioned which is an associative dimensioning. Associative dimensioning is when the reference between geometry and dimensioning is not only applied once, but is maintained permanently. The associative dimensioning is the precondition for adjusting the dimension automatically with subsequent geometry modifications. The outer article dimensions are dimensioned in the 2D view via dimension view. After calling the function, you are requested to select the block reference. Pick the cut with the mouse to dimension it. The settings of the dimensions depend on the settings in the STANDARD dimension principle and thereby from the dimension style IMOS_DIM.

Submittal Drawings Dimensioning section It is also an automated and associative dimensioning with the section dimensions. However, additional constructive details are dimensioned with dimensioning section. The settings of the dimension also depend on the settings in the in the STANDARD dimension principle and thereby from the dimension style IMOS_DIM Erase annotation If a generated dimension has to be deleted again, then use the function delete dimension.

Submittal Drawings Drawing output Layer management Every section and every dimension is set on its own layer to specifically show and hide individual sections when creating the output drawing. That also applies to all added manual dimensions as well as all derived 2D views.

Submittal Drawings Link Views The definition which cut or which element should be displayed in which view window is is applied via the function link view. The precondition is that a drawing frame with view windows must be loaded in the layout first. Afterwards the model space must be activated for a view window. Afterwards the function link view is called and then the layout in the drawing is picked, for example.

Submittal Drawings 20 Thereby all other elements of the order in the window are hidden and zoom all is executed at the same time. Here it is not possible to only show the original imos elements. At the same time the information in the flag is updated and shown in which layout the respective view is displayed.

Submittal Drawings 21 If you proceed for the other view windows in the same way, then the output layout can appear at the end as follows:

Submittal Drawings Detach View To undo an assignment of a cut to a view window again, the function detach view must be called in the menu. Before calling the function, the model space of the view window must be activated in which the assignment has to be undone again. Afterwards all elements of the order are displayed in the view window again.

Submittal Drawings Article annotation Additional information can also be output for the article of a cut drawing. After calling the function article annotation, the cut which the information should be output must be selected first. Then the corresponding abbreviation must be entered in the command line. Here you can select between the following information: Information name of element group imos Information Construction

Submittal Drawings 24 Name+constr./ comment-1 comment -2

Submittal Drawings 25 Information-block A block can be selected to output the corresponding information of the article. By default the StandardAtt.dwg is used.. Hierarchy Pos.-Number The dimension style IMOS_DIM_ART_LEADER is automatically set for the labelling.

Submittal Drawings 26

Submittal Drawings Part annotation Additional information can also be output for the parts of a cut drawing. After calling the function part annotation, the cut for which the information should be output must be selected first. Then the corresponding abbreviation must be entered in the command line. Here you can select between the following information: Information identinfo1-4 imos Information If yes is selected for set border with labelling, then a virtual border is spanned around the cut drawing and the labelling is placed there.

Submittal Drawings 28 Nc-check Information-block A block can be selected to output the corresponding information of the part. By default the Bauteilinfo_att.dwg is used..

Submittal Drawings 29 The dimension style IMOS_DIM_ LEADER is automatically set for the labelling Erase dimensioning The function can be used for deleting the labelling of articles and parts.

Part Designer Part Designer Part to edge Automatic blending of created parts If several parts are generated at the same time with part to edge, then the trim between the new elements can be defined and the parts are blended accordingly to the setting next to trim.

Part Designer Angle Additionally, there is the possibility to define an angle for a part to edge now.

Part Designer Polygon part Create polygon part When generating polygon parts, a preview appears to visualize the next edge Plausibility check When creating contours, a plausibility check is carried out to prevent crossing of contour lines. Here a warning does not appear. It is not possible to pick points that create only an overlapping Move start-/end point of a SPP The start- and end point of a stretchable purchased part can be moved via the 3D- processing. This process possibility is also available for curved parts.

Modify Modify Drawers without parametric Now it is possible to insert a drawer in the drawing via the free construction without specially having to create an article for this. For placing the drawer, a bounding box is created by dragging a Drafting Box which displays the drawer zone so that the size and position of the (inner) box are defined. Thereby the inset for the drawer can be defined subsequently as well as the gap dimension and the numbers of the boxes which are inserted in the bounding box. A collision check does not take place! Imos determines all surrounding parts around the box frame. Firstly, in the found parts the machinings are generated (slide drilling in panels etc.) and secondly, with the surrounding parts the fronts including gaps are calculated. Depending on the settings in the view data and the type of the found part (top shelf, construction shelf, bottom shelf etc.), is the result for the gaps and fronts.

Modify Multiple insertion of connection situations With multiple inserting connectors the workflow has been modified: First the connection situation is defined and afterwards the part pairs or single parts are selected and then the connector is inserted. After that it is possible to select new parts which should be connected. This can be repeated until the function is interrupted. The function connection situation can be called in the Manager from the folder Free construction if an article has been marked in the element window.

Modify Modify edge angle of SPPs Now it is possible to subsequently modify the edge angle of stretchable purchased parts via the imos Manager. In order to do this, the SPP must be selected in the element window on the edge level. Afterwards the function modify edge angle appears in the methods.

Veneer mother part Veneer mother part With the relevant INI-setting a cutting pattern part is directly generated from the veneer mother part. This means that if a veneer ID has been entered in the manufacturing information, then a cutting pattern part is directly generated from the relevant part.

/Document Manager Document Manager Start Document Manager via order data When saving an order, Document Manager run can be started. In the properties of the order data a Document Manager Principle can be selected. The setting is not saved so that the Document Manager does not automatically start when saving the order the next time which prevents that the Document Manager starts when saving it every time. All articles are automatically dimensioned here and it is not necessary to select every single article Manual call Document Manager It is still possible to start the Document Manager via the output menu. Here it is now possible to start the Document Manager run further for individual articles. Additionally, the process has changed slightly. If the order has already been saved, then the dialog save order does not appear anymore.

/Document Manager Ask before plotting The function ask before plotting has been adjusted. An activated function of the Document Manager run for the single part dimension is interrupted so that additional dimensions can be set in the current generated view, for example. To continue the run, the appearing dialog must be confirmed with OK.

Drawing border Drawing border Configure attributes For the configuration of the attributes for drawing borders it s now possible to go back to the main menu without saving. 1.7 imos Options Language settings Via the imos options it s now possible to define the language for imos and the Organizer. The settings also have an influence on the language of the menu.

Reference orders 40 2 Organizer 2.1 Reference orders Now reference orders can be created via the imos Organizer to assign an order to different projects. If relevant bill of material modifications are made on a reference order, then these have an effect on the other reference orders. This means that there is an access for reference orders and copies on the same FXF und DWG files as well as the same output tables. If modifications are made on one of files, then this has an effect on several copies. Information saved in the Proadmin Table is separately saved for each copy and therefore they can be different. Thereby, different order header data, different customers and also calculation principles can be stored for every order. (See chapter Additional positions for further information) If it is a reference order or its copies, then the order header data cannot be modified via imos anymore, but only via the Organizer.

Reference orders Create and insert reference order For creating a reference order, the order only has to be marked in the structure tree which serves as the reference. Afterwards the function create reference is selected via the menu so that this order is written in the memory cache. Then the project must be marked in which a copy of the reference has to be inserted. Copies cannot be inserted on the same level. Now both orders are marked as reference orders and receive another icon. If all copies of the reference orders are deleted again, then it is not a reference order anymore and the icon is removed from the order again.

Sales Import Manager (SIM) Sales Import Manager (SIM) The Sales Import Manager, integrated in the Administration Center so far, can be called via the menu of the imos Organizer now. SIM is for the adoption of the order header data and position data from graphical and not graphical order entry systems. Firstly, the order information is adopted as well as position data is set up and exploded. Here it is necessary that the article data is created in the imos data libraries. With the support of the SIM imos can automatically generate following data: Bill of material data Article- and part drawings CNC Programs The transfer of the data takes place in a XML File. Other formats are possible on request!

/Design Panel* Design Panel* The Design Panel is for the fast entry of cutting pattern parts. With the support of the fast entry new articles are generated which are then added to the selected order. The Design Panel can be called via the Design Manager. An adapted Catalog.xml is required for this. Calling the Design Manager, the entry Cut list is on the left side.

/Design Panel* 44 By clicking on the entry cut list, the view changes. The information stored here can be customer specific adapted! Handling By opening the Design Panel, a new row is directly inserted and the focus is on the first field. By confirming with enter, you can change to the next field each time and make the according entry. If you confirm with enter in the last field, then a new row is automatically inserted. A new row can also be added with the Insert key. After leaving the dialog with apply, the new parts are applied in the current order.

/Design Panel* Comparison of displays Following information has been stored via the Design Panel: After leaving the Design Panel and the Design Manager, the new cutting pattern parts are displayed in the organizer register positions as follows:

/Design Panel* 46

Quantities of articles Quantities of articles Now it is possible, like in the Organizer, to give a quantity to an article. This has a relevant effect on the bill of materials. In the Organizer the quantity is only shown on the register orderlines. 2.5 Position numbers via Organizer The allocation of position numbers is also possible via the organizer now. 2.6 Assign operations to rectangular pockets The assignment of work steps to rectangle pockets has been revised. If you already use this function, then please check your calculation after updating and if necessary, adjust your data system. If you have any further questions or need support, do not hesitate to contact us on our Hotline.

/Assign routing Assign routing Routing from the type order can be assigned to an order via the register orderlines now. The function is in the menu under Orderlines / Add. After calling the function, the same named dialog opens. The list of the available routings is based on the already created routings from the type order in the Element Manager.

/Assign routing 49 For assigning a routing, it must be checkmarked and then by leaving the dialog via next. Multiple assignments are also possible! After leaving the dialog, the assigned operations to the routings are listed in the order. If routings have already been assigned to the order, then these are marked when calling the dialog again.

Element Manager Element Manager Constraints Constraints are only used for the routings at the moment. This means that if a routings has to be assigned with a constraint, then an already created constraint can be selected at this point. Here it is important that the assignment of the type corresponds in the routings and constraint.

Element Manager 51 If a new constraint principle is created, then the selectable criteria depend on which type has been selected: Tables The tables administered via the Element Manager in imos so far, are now administered via the Organizer.

Administration Administration The register administration is in the organizer now. Here are the functions for the database administration, group permissions, user administration and the Dongle administration, with previous access via the Configuration Manager currently.

Administration User & User rights Now the functionalities for the user administrations from the Organizer 4.0 are available via the register administration. This includes the equivalent user rights (administrator, super primary user, user and guest). Additionally, group permissions can be assigned to the users now (see group permission). Following functions are available via the menu: Function Refresh view Save Create user Delete user Change password Explanation If changes are made on the user rights via the right grid, then these are only displayed after refreshing the view. Changes in the user are saved. After calling the function, the dialog create user opens and a new name, the password and the assignment of permission must be entered. Deletes the marked user. The password can be changed for the selected user. After calling the function, the dialog change password opens. A detailed description of the assignment of permissions is in the Online Help.

Administration Group permissions In the administration group permissions can be created now. Certain elements in the user interface of the Organizer and Element Manager via group permissions can be shown or hidden. These settings can be assigned to the corresponding user as principles. By doing this, for example, views of price fields and calculation settings for certain users can be hidden. These group permissions can be then assigned to a user again.

Administration 55 The visibility has following effects: Visibility Element Manager Cost and Mark up factor Explanation With the activated function the fields of costs and mark up factor are available for the user in the Element Manager in the principles material, connectors, profiles, surfaces and colour principles. Element Manager Calculation With the activated function the complete block calculation in the Element Manager of the Organizer is available.

Administration 56 Organizer Register Calculation principle With the activated function the register calculation principle in the Organizer is available. Part Lists With the activated function the bill of materials (Reports) are available in imos and in the organizer. With a deactivated function quotations can still be created and a mass determination can be made.

Administration 57 Calculation lists With the activated function calculation lists are available in the bill of materials. Quotations With the activated function the quotation lists are available in the bill of materials. Costs in order grid With the activated function the column costs is available on the register contents and orderlines.

Administration Database Administration Database can be also administered via the administration now. Following functionalities are available: Function Backup database Restore database Explanation After calling the function, a new dialog appears for saving the database. Via this dialog the path can be entered under which the file should be saved. The function enables to restore database backups. This means that a BAK File must be selected here. MDF or LDF Files cannot be restored. Separate database Add database The current marked database is disconnected from the server and thereby the MDF and LDF Files remain. For example, this is important if the database has to be copied, the MDF File cannot be copied in the attached state. A database of the type MDF can be attached to the server so that there is an access to this database. The precondition is that The database must be disconnected first. If you try to attach a database, which has not been disconnected, an error is returned. If you attach a database, then all data files (MDF- and LDF-Files) must be available. If a data file shows another path than when creating or the last attaching of the database, then the current path of the file must be set.

Administration 59 Set database offline By switching a database offline, this is closed and shutdown. After a database is in the status offline, it can be moved and distributed to a removable medium. Switching a database offline is locally as well as in a network environment possible. Data operations on the database files are possible when switching a database offline. An offline switched database is marked with a red highlighted symbol. Set database online Maintenance schedule Create NET Database A previous offline switched database is activated and started so that there is an access to the database again. Online switching an offline switched database is locally as well as in a network environment possible. After calling the function, a new dialog appears in whch a new maintenance schedule can be created. Further detailed information is in the Online Help. Creates a transfer file for a NET Database.

Administration Dongle The list of the activated imos modules is now listed on the register administration. In addition the Dongle can be read in and read out over this. Following functionalities are available: Function Write dongle file Read dongle file Explanation For activating further modules or renewing the licence, a dongle file must be written. After selecting the function, the storage path for the generated file has to be selected first. This c2v-file must be sent to the imos Support to then edit this file. The customized dongle file is sent to you by imos Support. This must then be read and loaded again via the function. This file has the ending *.v2c. After selecting the function, the storage path of the v2c-file must be selected. By leaving the dialog via the open button, the file is read. A message appears if the file has been successfully read.

Programming in the machine view 61 3 imos CAM MAX 3.1 Programming in the machine view In the current version 5-Axis operations can be programmed in the machine view as well. The advantage here is that the work pieces are aligned on the machine so that tool orientations and machine table size become clearly visible when applying an operation. 3.2 Surfaces pick function The new surfaces pick function enables the selection of surfaces or lines direct on the machine without having to disassemble the solids. 3.3 Automatic contour derivation displays the milling direction The new function of the automatic contour derivation makes it possible to directly derive curves and lines from surfaces without having to machine or explode the surfaces or solids first. Afterwards the milling direction is displayed on the created contours.

CAD Simulation of tools / Display of the tools CAD Simulation of tools / Display of the tools Instead of changing to the simulation dialog for the process display and simulation of the tool paths, it can be directly displayed in the CAD now. It is also possible to display the tool on the basis of the technology parameter, which means that it is not necessary to draw the tool geometry as AutoCAD Block. The simulation can be entered step-by-step or line-by-line or with the function drag and subsequently move the mouse from left or right. If your cursor is at the edge of the screen, the cursor can be dragged to the left or right again by pressing the Shift key so that the simulation can be continued.

/Raw part construction Raw part construction In the current version it is not necessary anymore to define a raw part separately for every operation. A new raw part administration is inserted to enable to take the raw part definition of the predecessor. 3.6 Align the surface normal Now it is possible to display the surface normal for each surface and to modify this as well. 3.7 Copy from machining cycle Now it is not necessary anymore to change to the operation editor to copy each machining cycle and to modify it later. Detailed functions for modifications are shown in the next chapter.

/Display or highlight the machining geometry Display or highlight the machining geometry Below the assigned operations the selected surfaces, raw parts or created tool paths can be directly controlled. The geometry is highlighted when selecting it in the Manager in the CAD. By double clicking, a new geometry can be assigned or the tool path calculation initiated. 3.9 Properties window In the properties window of CAMMAX new properties are available for operations. Here it is possible to modify properties without changing to the operation editor.

Pocket cycles 65 4 imos CAM Standard Innovations 4.1 Pocket cycles In the new version two new pocket cycles for rectangle and circular pockets are available now. With this new development the focus was on the milling of very small pockets. CAMCenter poly contour line Opt.4 without correcting optimized timing. This pocket cycle machines completely without tool radius correction so that the CNC-File runs smoothly without complications when assembling and dismantling the tool radius correction. The cycle is especially suitable for old machines. CAMCenter poly contour line Opt.3 without correcting optimized quality With this pocket cycle the outer contour of the pocket has always run with a tool radius correction whereby the diameter of the tool does not really have to correspond with the diameter of the machine. The clean out takes place without the tool radius correction. Following customer requirements have been implemented with the new development as well: Milling direction counter direction and same direction instead of clockwise or counter clockwise Assignment of the infeed on the milling profile Assignment of the pocket cycle on the milling profile Milling direction on the milling profile Clean out pockets yes or no on the milling profile 4.2 Horizontal drilling above 90 degrees Now it is possible to define the value which determines how far the machine can be machined with horizontal drillings further above 90 so that the unnecessary output of the second machining can be suppressed.

Machining sequence milling or rabbet Machining sequence milling or rabbet Now it is possible to make an additional difference for certain profiles within the milling. An assignment or identification can take place on the level of the tool assignment where the profiles of another category are assigned with the machining sequence. Thereby following customer requirements could be implemented: Milling outer contours Edge banding on the BAZ Rabbet of the glued edge The new machining sequence cannot only be used for the function rabbet.

/Standard commands Standard commands The standard commands enable the user to influence the output of the imos post processors. For example, there is the possibility that the user programmes a user defined macro for the vertical drillings. The standard command of the WOP-Program can be derived for the user s own command for not having to drive all vertical drillings. This function is available for the post processors NCHops, NCStudio and Xilog Plus. 4.5 Added components The component control has been extended so that nearly all imos machinings for controlling the components in the WOP- Program can be applied. Thereby the numbers of machining properties for identifying components has been extended. Additionally, the following post processors have been extended for controlling components. SCM Group (XXL-Format) BiesseWorks IMAWOP The extension of the functionality is applied for the existing post processors of the Homag Group and NC-HOPS.

/FXM-Variables FXM-Variables Now properties of the parts, that are in the imos internal FXM- File, can be written in the WOP-Program as variables. This innovation is closely connected with the new commands and the component control. For example, the imos surface top and bottom, the material, the alignment on the machine, veneer yes or no and the veneer direction can be evaluated in the user defined macros and standard commands. This function is available for the post processors of the Homag Group, SCM Group, BiesseWorks, IMA and NC-HOPS. It is important to ensure that not all WOP-Programs support character strings as variables.

imos NET imos NET 5.1 imos NET Drawing output Generating views and floor plan drawings In the room planner it is possible to generate different views of the room which are then loaded on the server. When generating the views, a PDF is also automatically generated that is then provided in the shopping basket Dimension and visibility The visibility of plan dimension in a room planner has been improved. The selective dimension as well as the selective show and hide of different article types are possible Multilingual XML Data system In the data place holders can be directly stored for the text output. These placeholders can be centrally translated and depending on the user s language shown POV Ray Rendering There is the opportunity to export the current room situation locally and to render automatically with POV Ray. POV Ray is not supplied with it, but is available as Open Source Software for free Further information per PopOver The user receives further information for planning per PopOver.

imos NET imos NET New user interface The user interface of imos NET has been completely redesigned for the Version 5.0.

imos NET Thereby the user guidance has been optimized. For example, a status display always shows you now in which step of your order you are exactly. Furthermore, the selection in the catalogue is via previews now to provide a better overview.

imos NET Switch between tile and list view in the catalogue In imos NET 5.0 it is possible to switch the views in the catalogue. Thereby, you can switch between gallery and list view.

imos NET Compatible with all current browsers and mobile platforms imos NET 5.0 is compatible with all current browsers and mobile platforms Status temp, active and saved have been combined Now there is only one status for shopping baskets that have not been ordered yet. Switching between the active shopping baskets is possible all the time and everywhere Live shopping basket is extended to order list You can view and edit the content in the Shop at any time without having to switch explicitly in the shopping basket view.

imos NET In order to do this, click on the arrow right next to to order list in the status bar below. Then the order list selected on the left side via the selection appears.

imos NET Optimized search in the catalog Search in imos NET 5.0 has been optimized. Parts in the article names and the article descriptions can be searched in the catalogue. Please note that placeholders cannot be used!

imos NET Insert article in the shopping basket without configuration Articles can be directly inserted in the shopping basket with global settings without having to switch to the configuration mask. The modification can be remade in the status bar, because the article numbers are incremented there and the order sum is modified.
