This is great news and encourages us to continue our drive to innovate and to make 3D documentation possible in multiple industries. Every technical innovation flourishes only when there is a fertile ground of existing user applications. For precisely this reason, it is very important for us to encourage and support the exchange of knowledge, experience and know-how between Faro users, customers and technical partners. To accomplish this, we have decided to create a new type of event which provides the opportunity for customers, users, partners and potential customers to meet and discuss the current state of the technology and future applications. From May 2011 the inaugural European user and information forum for 3D laser scanning will take place under the name 3D Documentation Conference at the historically famous, UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein Coal Mine in Essen. We have started to document the world in 3D and this is posed to be one of the greatest revolutions of our time. From capturing crime scenes, to historic monuments, industrial plants, products, tunnels, forests and of course Architecture and all Civil Engineering projects. 3D documentation is a new methodology that will dramatically change the way we understand the world and how we work together. You and us - we are all part of it. And we are proud to help this new development with this first 3D Documentation Conference, and to give that revolution a Forum, where specialists, users and all interested parties will meet and connect.
