1 Key #4 Courage to Let Go Page 1 of 8 Be Fit for Life Series Key Number Four Courage To Let Go Sit or lie in a safe and comfortable position I want you to close your eyes keep them closed until I ask you to open them. (Pause) I want you to take a very good, deep breath, fill your lungs up with air and then let it out slowly. (Pause) Very good. Now I want you to take another really good deep breath, fill your lungs.. and let all the air out very slowly and already you FEEL your body starting to relax. Now let this wonderful feeling of relaxation flow all the way down to your feet. (Pause) Feel your feet becoming very comfortable and relaxed now if you don t feel it right away in your feet, don t let it disturb you because it l gradually catches up to you. (Pause) Now let this wonderful flow of relaxation flow from your feet into your ankles. (Pause) From your ankles going up all the large and small muscles of your legs to your knees. (Pause) Such a wonderful comfortable feeling and with every breath you exhale, your body just keeps on relaxing, deeper and deeper. Relax, relax Now let this wonderful flow of relaxation flow from your knees into your thighs from your thighs into your hips from your hips into your abdomen and with every breath that you exhale your body just keeps on relaxing DEEPER and DEEPER. Relax Now let this wonderful flow of relaxation flow up the large and small muscles of your back let all the back muscles go loose and limp like a rag doll. (Pause) Let this relaxation flow up into your shoulders Now over your shoulders and DOWN into your chest such a wonderful comfortable feeling and with every breath that you exhale your body just keeps on relaxing DEEPER and DEEPER. Relax, relax
2 Key #4 Courage to Let Go Page 2 of 8 Now let this wonderful flow of relaxation flow down the muscles of your arms to your elbows from your elbows to your wrists from your wrists into your hands right on out to the ends of your fingertips. (Pause) Such a wonderful comfortable feeling and with every breath you exhale your body just keeps on relaxing DEEPER and DEEPER. Relax (Pause) Now let this wonderful flow of relaxation flow up all your large and small muscles of your neck coming up into your head over your head and down into your brow all the muscles of your eyes relaxing all the muscles of your cheeks relaxing all the muscles of your chin relaxing, DEEPER and DEEPER. Relax, relax Now if you teeth are clenched just unclench them. Your body relaxes much more just let your jaw sag feel all the tension go out of your facial muscles. (Pause) Now as I count from three down to one, with each and every count just allow your body to relax much DEEPER. (Pause) THREE, more and more relaxed. (Pause) TWO, more and more relaxed. (Pause) ONE, very DEEP, very comfortable, very relaxed. The sound of my voice guides you deeper into relaxation following my suggestions guide you deeper into relaxation and the deeper you go into relaxation the better you feel and the better you feel the more and more your body relaxes with just terrific, good, marvelous, wonderful, feelings going through your body and very happy, content thoughts going through your mind relax and let yourself go relax and let yourself go Now I want you to relax still more to a deeper state of relaxation, much more relaxed so again I count from five DOWN to one as I count from five DOWN to one, your body automatically double the relaxation you have right now. (Pause) FIVE, relaxation starting to double, (Pause) FOUR, relaxation doubling more and more. (Pause) THREE, relaxation doubling TWO, relaxation is now almost doubled in your body. (Pause) ONE, relaxation now has doubled in your body from the top of your head to the tip of your toes.
3 Key #4 Courage to Let Go Page 3 of 8 Every fiber, every tissue, every organ, every gland, every minute part of your body has doubled its relaxation you feel great you feel wonderful you feel fine with just terrific feelings going through your body and content, happy thoughts going through your mind relax and let yourself go relax and let yourself go. Allow your breathing to become slow and easy. Let go completely as you relax deeper and deeper. And still deeper. As the quietness of your body affects the quietness of your mind, your tongue automatically floats to the top of your mouth and becomes still. Your lips become still. Your thumbs, your index fingers, and your big toes release their sense of awareness and become quiet and still. Still. Very, very still. And your body follows your mind s example of becoming still. Your breath becomes quiet. And you experience a sense of peace. Today, this moment, you see clearly. Now and forever release any and all negative thoughts you have of yourself. Now, this day, this moment, address yourself and insist and demand that you regain your lost humanity. Accept yourself, know you can gain wisdom as you deal with yourself in truth. You are in touch with your body. Recognize where you have placed muscular tension and rigidities within your body. You know that these places are of restraint that have bound your feelings. Therefore, repeat the following sentences with me: I release tension and at the same time allow myself insight to understand the suppressed thought pattern which put it there in the first place. Repeat. Repeat with me, If I cry, if I scream, if I moan and I groan, I allow these releases easily because I trust myself now. I can, and I do find my true self. Repeat. I respect myself and my humanity. Repeat. I respect my pain, my fear and the struggle I have been through. Repeat. Realize right now that your feelings are happenings, not something you do. Your feelings are bodily functions, not mental processes. You no longer have a need to project an image. You release your need to use power in this way. Exploitation in any form is no longer a part of your life.
4 Key #4 Courage to Let Go Page 4 of 8 Relax and allow yourself to be. You recognize that you have suffered. What has been unacceptable to you in the past is now allowed to surface in order to be examined. What goes on in your body influences your thinking and behavior as much as what goes on in your mind. You notice and prepare yourself to be in direct contact with both. You are housed in a living body which includes a wonderful mind. You sense now your aliveness. Feel and acknowledge what you feel. Give authority to your body to rediscover it s feeling nature! Reclaim your dignity and your integrity. Reclaim your selfrespect. Realize that you have suppressed your normal desire for emotional support. Forgive and release all people in your life that have not recognized and respected your individuality. Forgive them now for their need to mold you into some preconceived pattern. This distortion is now released from an understanding level as well as from that part of your body which first began the process of holding back, and that which produced fear within you. You know that your true self seeks only to have your needs understood and responded to in life. Release this moment, any input if suggested otherwise, so that your physical body is free from each and every distortion. There is no longer a discrepancy between your image and your true self. You no longer are pre-occupied with your sexual image and you no longer are committed to the superiority arising from this pre-occupation. You allow yourself to be a feeling, human being. Here and now. You release any image of yourself that you need to be perfect. You release the desire for others to see you as perfect; that is no longer of use to you. The reality is that you are human. You allow yourself to respond to your emotions accordingly. In the past, feelings of inferiority have existed and you now recognize that underneath, a wonderful person exists. You are worthy. You are incredible. You release now the fantasy of any negative pre-conceptions you have of yourself. You release this false picture of yourself in favor of your true feelings and whole self. You no longer partake in any self-destructive behavior. You are now prepared to allow any negative happenings to surface! You see them for what they are
5 Key #4 Courage to Let Go Page 5 of 8 of happening in the past. Release these happenings of the past slowly and gradually. Now, release all of the defenses you have built to hide them from yourself. As you do so, notice and feel the release and relief within your body and your mind. Realize you no longer require the cover up of addiction to food, or any other behavior not conducive to your true and wonderful self. You no longer require instant gratification. You can contain your desires. You are able to tolerate frustration. You live now and you are alive. This sense of aliveness is truth. If you believe that people are looking at you or talking about you, you no longer believe they are conspiring against you. You select and store a simple, true image of yourself. Allow yourself to be sensitive to your own feelings; allow yourself to release any self-destructive behavior. You invest your energy in your real self. You invest your energy in truth, instead of some image you inadvertently created. You listen to your inner self and savor the deep feelings of gratitude and joy. You love your true, unencumbered self. You are aware of yourself and the expression of your inner being. You know you are free to move forward and to succeed. The past belongs in the past. And you belong to yourself in truth. Any mental blocks, known or unknown, are released. Your ego is defined through self-awareness, self-expression and self-possession. You experience your body as feeling. You now find yourself saying, I feel rather than I am. The greater part of yourself is your body and its functions. What you feel depends upon what happens in the body. You can experience the body directly through your feelings. You have an image of it. You are healthy; therefore, your self-image is wonderful. You accept yourself. You identify with your body and its feelings. You accept yourself here and now. Love is the sharing of your true self with another person. Your sense of self enables you to share. Your self-image and your body are congruent. Your image fits your body reality as a glove fits a hand. Your personal identity is based on your body s feelings. You manifest these feelings in bright eyes, glowing skin, pleasant facial expressions and of a vibrantly alive body. You release the fear of an empty life and no longer sacrifice your true self for an image imposed upon you. You accept yourself as you are. You accept yourself as you are.
6 Key #4 Courage to Let Go Page 6 of 8 No more suffering. No more. No more. You accept yourself; your true self. You accept your humanness. No longer is your life a performance. It is real, it is honest, it is truth. You are in BALANCE You release the mechanism used to numb yourself. Because you suppressed your feelings in the past, there is no reason to continue to do so. You breathe now, releasing the need to hold your breath, or the need to control uneasiness. Breathe and let life breathe into you as you relax at night. You allow your breathing to flow freely. You no longer inhibit yourself in any manner. Your life is now working. Each time you listen to this CD, your life works better and better. You are more and more in touch now. You have a rational and logical image of yourself. You no longer feel the urge to protect yourself falsely, by eating for false pretenses. You bravely choose to be still. To listen. You allow your humanity to reveal itself. Your motivation is now one of observing your feelings and allowing yourself to feel those feelings however long it takes. You are in balance with your own feelings, and in time, you not only know your feelings, you sense the feelings of others and you respond appropriately. You appreciate human value. Now, release the split of yourself into accepted and rejected parts. You no longer project the rejected parts onto others. You no longer talk negatively about yourself. Your point of view is positive. Any destruction of yourself is over. Completed. Ended. You are free! Know that love is the way of communicating with yourself and with others; with this unjudgmental, uncritical, unselfish love, you are free. You are free to be truly human. You allow yourself the freedom to feel. You are in balance with your true self. By breathing deeply, you instigate that release so that your life, your feelings, are experienced and expressed. Every emotion is movement from the center of your being. When you feel love inside, you reach out to share with others. You are free to experience life fully. You need not act out; you need only to be still and believe. From this day forward, you no longer sabotage yourself with denial. You now release any denial right now by focusing on the rigidity at the base of your skull and in the muscles that hold the head to the neck. Release this tension and allow the flow of energy from the body to the head.
7 Key #4 Courage to Let Go Page 7 of 8 Release..Release and summon the feeling of energy flowing freely. You know that from this moment forward you can manage your life effectively and no longer deny reality. You no longer require the suppression of your breathing mechanism. You breathe freely and easily. You choose freedom. You are free to express your self-awareness, and your self-expression. You take full possession and responsibility for your body, mind and spirit. You are capable of containing and sustaining strong feelings and emotions. There is an incredible awareness within yourself that you have the ability and the capacity to achieve your ideal body image, to experience it. To be fit. To be in Balance. The fear of rejection which you structured in tensions around the neck and shoulders are released. Now this moment. As you listen to this CD, you freely release that tension. When it is appropriate to do so. You live here and now, and always respond in an appropriate fashion. You nurture and support yourself and those who are in your life. You honor your life and you honor those lives around you. As a human being, you acknowledge that you are limited by your body. Your body moves, creates and expresses. In this way you are free. You are worthy. You are dignified. You inspire others and they respect you. You are vibrantly alive and you know who you are. Feelings intact. Code of ethics strong and secure. Your respect for life is dedicated and true. Knowing this, you experience joy. You accept this message and respond and expand. The potential for which you were born is now intact; vibrantly alive and ready. Trusting with faith and sureness, you move into that part of yourself known as you are what you believe. Believe success, and you achieve success. You find peace and joy in knowing that you are obtaining and remaining at your ideal balanced body image. If this is your normal bedtime, you may drift into a natural state of sleep now knowing that you will awaken at the correct time in the morning. If this is not your bedtime In a moment I m going to count from one up to three. At the count of three, and not before, you will open your eyes and
8 Key #4 Courage to Let Go Page 8 of 8 become fully refreshed, totally alert, feeling wonderful and marvelous in every way. ONE! Slowly, easily and gently feel yourself coming back to your full awareness. At the count of TWO, you re still relaxed and calm, but a wonderful feeling of new energy flows throughout your mind and body; and your eyes under your eyelids feel as if they are clearing, as if they are being bathed in a cool mountain stream. On the next count, eyes open alert, feeling wonderful and marvelous in every way. Get ready now. All right, number THREE, eyes open, fully alert and notice how good you feel!
