2 Art and the Sinnissippi Foundation A core mission of the Sinnissippi Foundation is advocating for better mental wellness. The connection between art and mental wellness is well established. Art therapy has been used since the late 1800 s and early 1900 s. Art also is a way for someone to communicate something that they cannot through words. Sometimes art offers the artist emotional healing from the process. An art event that raises funds for the Sinnissippi Foundation, therefore, has been a natural extension of those ideas. Expressions and The Next Picture Show have grown together over time. This is the 11th anniversary year for both Expressions and The Next Picture Show. We hope you enjoy this wonderful local art gallery and the Sinnissippi Foundation s fundraising event. Sauk Valley Bank and the Sinnissippi Foundation are proud to present the 11th Annual Expressions Art Sale & Reception, Tuesday, April 7, 2015 through Friday, April 24, 2015 at The Next Picture Show, 113 West First Street, Dixon. The Foundation gives our special thanks to Sauk Valley Bank, Cosponsor of Expressions, all of our sponsors, donating artists, the individuals, organizations, and businesses that provided silent auction items, and the many board members, staff members, and volunteers from the Sinnissippi Foundation, Sinnissippi Centers, and The Next Picture Show who make this event possible. µ µ Art work and silent auction items on display at The Next Picture Show Tuesday, April 7th - Friday April 24th. µ µ Bids on silent auction items will be accepted any time beginning April 7th. Expressions concludes with a reception Friday April 24th, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with an end to the silent auction at 8:00 pm April 24th. µ µ Proceeds support the mission of the Sinnissippi Foundation.
