Star Gazing: A big dark sky with lots of stars is a memorable part of the Weekapaug experience. Join the after dark to spot the moon and planets through our computerized telescope. Salt : Come walk the edge of the salt marsh with our naturalist and learn about the different plants and creatures that live there. Birding by Van: Our naturalist conducts a n hour-long tour around local marshes looking for migrating birds. Check Fish Traps: Our naturalist is monitoring fish traps in the salt Pond as part of a Nature Conservancy research project. Ride along and see what comes up in the pots! Talking Birds : Join our naturalist, Capt. Mark, to chat about the birds and wildlife locals around the area. Radio Control Sailboats: Sail the seas without leaving solid land.. r/c sailboats are fun for all ages. Boathouse Tour Weekapaug in : Take in the views and lovely lanes of Weekapaug in our open-air electric car. Half-hour tour.. room for five passengers. s Beach Walk: Join our naturalist on an hour-long walk down the barrier beach. He will point out wildlife, interesting plants and landmarks. The beach is beautiful and great for walking throughout the year. Guides: The following guides are available at the front desk: Local jogging and biking maps. Harvest Moon Dinner: Enjoy apple cocktails, hard cider and toast to the moonrise. A three course, family-style feast will be prepared with seasonally fresh ingredients and served in honor of the famous fall moon. After dinner, enjoy s mores by the firepit. Harvest Moon Paddle: There s nothing like being out on the ponds at night under the light of a full moon. And this isn t just any full moon it s the Harvest Moon! $20 per hotel guest; $40 per nonovernight guest. Open to people 16 and over with competent paddle skills. Oktoberfest Lunch: Enjoy pumpkin carving and a German/Swiss inspired lunch featuring Bavarian classics with a Rhode Island twist. Rhode Island Off the Beaten Track: October is a beautiful month along our coast and the perfect time to explore the hidden gems of southern Rhode Island.
