SPARTAN ROBOTICS FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international robotics program for high school students to learn about the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through

2 SPARTAN ROBOTICS FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international robotics program for high school students to learn about the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through hands-on learning in the field of robotics. Our team of students design, build, and program a robot to compete in a sports-like event. Students gain valuable teamwork experience and real-life applications of science and technology. We promote STEM in the community by mentoring FIRST Lego League teams which is like FRC but for elementary schools. We also provide presentations and outreach at places such as comic-cons, festivals, and school events.

4 Introduction MOTHER TERESA SECONDARY ROBOTICS - TEAM 5288 Over a six week build period we will work many long hours, days, and weeks to create an operational competition robot. Our hard work and dedication has paid off in the past and our team won the regional event in Windsor, Ontario which led us to the international championships in St. Louis, MI in Each year we gain more experience and drive as we look to the 2018 FIRST Robotics Competition. We are eager to start the season and strive to be the best we have ever been. 01

His dedication to both community outreach and supporting the next generation of MTS robotics team members is unmatched. Terry is the lead driver for our Spartan Robotics. He was our second driver last year and is stepping up to the lead role for his senior year. We all have high hopes for Terry to take our team to the finals! Nick is an aspiring computer engineer with all the qualities necessary to be a leader and mentor. He leads the mechanical division of our team and is our go-to guy for last minute fixes when we need it most. Natalia is the lead liaison for Spartan Robotics. She commits countless hours of her time to community outreach and educational opportunities for the elementary students interesting in FIRST. 02

TEAM 5288: Spartan Robotics In 2014, a group of students got together from Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary to form its first ever FIRST Robotics team.

10 TEAM 5288: Spartan Robotics In 2014, a group of students got together from Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary to form its first ever FIRST Robotics team. Over the six week build period, Spartan Robitics team 5288 worked many long hours to create its first operational competition robot. Hard work and dedication paid off and we won the regional event in Windsor, Ontario which led us to the international championships in St. Louis, MI. Each year our team builds on its previous successes and 2018 we have high hopes for our team. Student run STEM project to support mathematics and science to all ages. Establish mentoring programs for First LEGO League Teams. Bring the community together with outside mentor-ship and outreach events. It is only with the assistance of community partners that we will be successful in our goals.
