5 From the ARRL [arrl_prez] AMATEUR RADIO IN THE NEWS I was watching CNN channel yesterday about 6 AM and there was a discussion between Carol Costello and Chet Myers about the total lack of communications in certain areas of Indonesia and Sumatra. Chet Myers said (not a direct quote) something to the effect that probably Ham Radio operators were the only possible means of communication in this situation.. I have been trying to monitor 14,190 etc, but have not had too much luck hearing too much. I wonder whether anyone has heard some interesting traffic. 73 Ed Rubin, N2JBA President, SBARC Welcome to the 2005 Mansfield Mid*Winter Hamfest & Computer Show.. Sunday - February 13th Gates will open at 7:00am for general admission. Tickets: $5.00 in advance and $6.00 at the door. Tables: $12.00 advance only.
