1 Lubricating your Bearings This guide will show you the procedure you will follow to lubricate your BoXZY bearings Written By: BoXZY 2017 boxzy.dozuki.com Page 1 of 5

2 Step 1 Using the correct Lubrication Your BoXZY uses Engine Assembly Lube with Moly-Graphite to lubricate the ball bearings We use Sta-Lube brand Extreme Pressure Anti-Sieze Engine Assembly Lube with Moly-Graphic You can use any brand of Engine Assembly Lube so long as it contains Moly-Graphite, an essential ingredient You can find proper lubrication at your local auto-parts store or with an online search for Engine Assembly Lube with Moly- Graphite 2017 boxzy.dozuki.com Page 2 of 5

Step 3 Applying the Lubrication Hold your bearing in one hand and with your other hand squeeze a pea size amount of lubricant directly into the opening of

lubricant around the inside of the bearing, as seen in the second image Be sure you move the entire distance of the bearing, moving in and out between the

4 Step 3 Applying the Lubrication Hold your bearing in one hand and with your other hand squeeze a pea size amount of lubricant directly into the opening of the bearing, as seen in the first image Next, use a clean thin narrow dowel rod or a long match stick(wood side only) and with a swirling motion apply the lubricant around the inside of the bearing, as seen in the second image Be sure you move the entire distance of the bearing, moving in and out between the bearing openings to apply lubricant as evenly as possible across the length of the bearing Repeat this step for each desired bearing 2017 boxzy.dozuki.com Page 4 of 5

Step 4 Lubricating the Z axis ball screw bearings With an Allen wrench remove the lubricant set screw on your Z axis ball screw bearing, as seen in the first image Next push your lubricant into the

Next, manually turn the ball screw so that the Build Platform moves upwards, about 2 inches Squeeze more lubricant into the bearing, and manually move the build platform upwards again, about 2 inches

5 Step 4 Lubricating the Z axis ball screw bearings With an Allen wrench remove the lubricant set screw on your Z axis ball screw bearing, as seen in the first image Next push your lubricant into the hole you just removed the set screw from Squeeze the lubricant until you see lubricant come out of the top of the bearing between the white gasket and the ball screw, as seen in the second image Next, manually turn the ball screw so that the Build Platform moves upwards, about 2 inches Squeeze more lubricant into the bearing, and manually move the build platform upwards again, about 2 inches Now you will move your build platform downwards about 4 inches Put the set screw back into the hole where you removed it from and turn it so that it is set inside of the hole about one half turn from being flush with the hole opening 2017 boxzy.dozuki.com Page 5 of 5

Step 5 Lubricating the X and Y axis ballscrew bearings With an Allen wrench remove the lubricant set screw on your Y axis ball screw bearing, as seen in the first image and indicated by the red arrow

6 Step 5 Lubricating the X and Y axis ballscrew bearings With an Allen wrench remove the lubricant set screw on your Y axis ball screw bearing, as seen in the first image and indicated by the red arrow Next push your lubricant into the hole you just removed the set screw from Squeeze the lubricant until you see lubricant come out of the top of the bearing between the white gasket and the ball screw, as seen in the second image Next, manually turn the ball screw so that the Build Platform moves away from the limit switch, about 2 inches, then move it back to where you started Squeeze more lubricant into the bearing, and manually move the bearing away from the limit switch, about 2 inches, then move it back to where you started Put the set screw back into the hole where you removed it from and turn it so that it is set inside of the hole about one half turn from being flush with the hole opening This step is exactly the same for the X axis ball screw bearing, repeat this step for the X axis, refer to the second image for the set screw location This document was last generated on :54:44 AM.
