1 Instructions Gear Kit for 150 RPX, Project Painter 5, Project Painter 7, X5, X7, LTS 15, LTS 17, and dx Airless Sprayers D This manual contains kit installation instructions only Gear Replacement Kit: Important Safety Instructions For detailed sprayer information and warnings, see Operation manual , , , , , or included with Magnum sprayers. Pressure Relief Procedure To help prevent injection injuries, follow this procedure when you stop spraying and before you service or clean the sprayer, remove parts, or repair leaks. Project Painter 5/Project Painter 7: 1. Turn AllControl to OFF. Unplug sprayer. 2. Trigger gun. 3. Put trigger gun safety in safety ON position. NOTE: Leave AllControl in OFF position until you are ready to spray again. X5/X7 LTS 15/LTS 17: 1. Turn Power switch OFF. Unplug sprayer. 2. Turn Spray/Prime valve to PRIME to relieve pressure. Turn pressure Control knob left (counterclockwise) to minimize pressure. 3. Trigger gun. 4. Put trigger safety in safety ON position. NOTE: Leave Spray/Prime valve in PRIME position until you are ready to spray again. ti11868a ti9168a If you suspect that the spray tip or hose is completely clogged or that pressure has not been fully relieved after following the steps above, VERY SLOWLY loosen the tip guard retaining nut or hose end coupling to relieve pressure gradually. Then loosen it completely. Clear the tip or hose obstruction. ti10216a

Remove connecting rod (H) and gears (F and G) and discard. 11. Wipe all used grease out of housing (J) with a cloth. N D B Disassembly 1. Unplug electrical cord. (dx unit shown) 2. Relieve Pressure by following the procedure described on page 1, or see Operation manual , , or Remove all hoses (A). dx Units Only - Tip unit on its side. ti1034a 4. Remove screws (L) with a T-30 torx screwdriver and remove unit from frame. 5. Project Painter 7 Units Only - Cut AllControl labels along enclosure edge. 6. Remove screws (B) with a T-20 torx screwdriver. Separate enclosure (D) and cover (C). 7. Record locations of power and control leads and remove from control board. Project Painter 7 Units Only - Remove control card. A Assembly 1. Use applicator brush to spread contents of grease tube (included in Kit) into teeth of new gears (F and G) and new connection rod socket (H). Install the smaller gear (G), then the larger gear (F) into the housing (J). Pack remaining grease under gears. 2. Align connecting rod (H) with pump rod (K) and install into housing (J). 3. Put cover (C) and pump housing (J) together. Replace screws (E). Torque screws to 25 to 35 in-lb (2.8 to 4.0 N m). 4. Project Painter 7 Units Only - Replace control board. 5. Replace power and control leads on control board. 6. Replace motor enclosure (D). 150 RPX and dx units Only - Make sure slider (N) is correctly positioned and moves freely in enclosure. 7. Replace screws (B) and torque to 25 to 35 in-lb (2.8 to 4.0 N m). Replace screws (L) and torque to 70 to 80 in-lb (7.9 to 9.0 N m). 8. Reconnect hoses (A). 9. Project Painter 7 Units Only - Replace AllControl labels D

Relieve Pressure by following the procedure described on page 1, or see Operation manual Remove all hoses (A). 4. Tip unit on its back. 5. Carefully cut 2 AllControl labels along enclosure. 6. Remove 4 cover screws (B) with T-30 torx screwdriver. Separate enclosure (D) and cover (C). 7. Remove 6 screws (E) holding cover (C) to pump housing (F) with a T-20 torx screwdriver. 8. Separate cover (C) and housing (F). 9. Remove washer (L). 10. Remove connecting rod (G), large gear (H) and small gear (J) and discard. 11. Wipe all used grease out of housing (F) with a cloth. Assembly 1. Use applicator brush to spread contents of grease tube (included in Kit) into teeth of new gears (H and J) and install into pump housing (F). Pack remainder of grease under gears. 2. Apply grease to ends of new connecting rod (G). Align connecting rod (G) with pump rod (K) and install into pump housing (F). Install washer (L). 3. Assemble cover (C) and housing (F) with 6 screws (E). Torque to 25 to 35 in-lb (2.8 to 4.0 N m). 4. Assemble cover (C) to enclosure (D) with 4 screws (B). torque to 25 to 35 in-lb (2.8 to 4.0 N m). 5. Reconnect hoses (A). 6. Apply new AllControl cables D 3

4 X5, X7, LTS 15, and LTS 17 Disassembly 1. Unplug electrical cord and Relieve Pressure (see page 1 or Operation manual or ). 2. X7 and LTS 17 Only: Remove underside shroud mounting screw (D). 3. Remove 4 side shroud screws (E) (T-20 Torx). 4. Remove 4 front cover screws (F) (T-30 Torx). 5. Remove right shroud (G). 6. Disconnect power cord connectors (H) from ON/OFF switch (L). 7. Remove left shroud (K). 8. Remove 2 pump housing mounting screws (ps). Be sure to support pump housing (ph). 9. Remove pump housing (ph). X7 and LTS 17 Only: Pull power cord (N) through opening in pump housing mounting bracket. 10. Remove 4 screws (B) holding pump housing (ph) to front cover (C). 11. Remove front cover (C). 12. Remove connecting rod (cr) and gears (S and Q). 13. Wipe all used grease out of pump housing (ph). C Assembly Use applicator brush to spread contents of grease tube (included in kit) into teeth of new gears (Q and S) and new connecting rod (cr) socket. Install the smaller gear (G), then the larger gear (F) into the housing (J). Pack remaining grease under gears. 1. Align connecting rod (cr) with pump rod (pr) and install into pump housing (ph). 2. Reassemble pump housing (ph) and front cover (C). Insert 4 screws (B) and torque to 25 to 35 in-lb (2.8 to 4.0 N m). 3. Install pump housing (ph) and 2 pump housing mounting screws (ps) onto pump housing mounting bracket (pb). Torque to 110 to 120 in-lb (12.4 to 13.6 N m). 4. Reattach power cord connectors (H) to ON/OFF switch (L). 5. Install left shroud (K). 6. X7 and LTS 17 Only: Route power cord (N) through opening in pump housing mounting bracket (pb). 7. Install power cord (N) into recess on left shroud (K). 8. Install right shroud (G). 9. Install 4 side shroud screws (E) (T-20 Torx). Torque to 26 to 32 in-lb (2.9 to 3.6 N m). 10. Install 4 front cover screws (F) (T-30 Torx). Torque to 26 to 32 in-lb (2.9 to 3.6 N m). 11. X7 and LTS 17 Only: Install underside shroud mounting screw (D).
