5 Simple construction is the hallmark of Nova s sign systems and Novacase when assembled leads to a strong signcase which is able to accept rigid panels from 3mm to 6mm. Panels are retained using a reversible bead which is pre-set for speed of fabrication. Novacase has a robust support section which is shared with both Novawide and Novaflex and allows plenty of space to obtain secure fixings. Use of the system s reinforcing and corner angles ensures rigidity throughout the signcase. A projection box using Novacase gives the box an overall width of 175mm and makes use of integral sections to suit both 3mm and 5mm applications. These sections are fabricator friendly and remove the need for excess bead screws which can prove unsightly on smaller sign cases. Novacase has its own stand-off bracket giving a wall projection of 65mm and has corner reinforcing brackets to eliminate any sagging. Novawide at 207mm in depth and with an increased wall thickness, is ideal for large pole mounted double sided signage when backlit acrylic panels are preferred. The system has its own reinforcing brackets for both single and double sided cases and houses the same bead profile as Novacase. Single sided boxes are used for larger signs giving a striking image or when a deeper, more robust case is required. 7 Novaslim has an array of practical uses for signmakers, ranging from neat point of sale units right up to an outdoor fascia in the high street. As its name suggests, Novaslim is a smaller version of Novacase but still inherits all the same features and rigidity, allowing the system to accommodate panels in fascia boxes up to 700mm in height and any length. The system is also good for individual units up to a bespoke width and height of 1.8m 2 for single sided displays. Single sided integral extrusions are available to suit both 3mm and 5/6mm applications giving the case much more of a screw free appearance making it ideal for displaying transparencies and posters. Novaslim creates a swift and simple solution as a backbox (see fig.2) for folded sign trays, with the omission of the face bead, boxes are reduced to just 80mm in depth and can be fabricated swiftly giving a solid unit to install electrics into. This also allows the installer to fix through its vertical support bracings on-site before offering the tray over and securing on all four sides. A projection box using Novaslim gives an extremely neat appearance. With an overall width of just 100mm, it makes use of integral sections and its own purpose designed stand off bracket to offer a 65mm projection from the wall. Reinforcing internal corner angles are used to eliminate any sagging once installed and the system is good for double sided display boxes up to a bespoke width and height of 0.65m 2. 9 The Novatrim suite of aluminium extrusions are an extremely simple and cost effective method of hanging rigid display panels for non-illuminated applications for both exterior and interior use. A standard fascia using a 5mm acrylic/foam panel can be housed in Novatrim or Novacurve and for signs over 1100mm in depth, Novatrim Plus is the system to use. Novatrim has a visible face of 35mm and is ideal for most applications. Novacurve has the same visible face area but gives a more classical picture frame effect and can look spectacular when colour co-ordinated with the decorated panel. Novatrim Plus with a visual face of 45mm, is designed to ensure safe panel retention when larger signs are required. Novatrim 3 is the baby of the family, with a visible face depth of just 20mm. This extrusion is perfect for 2,3 and 4mm panels such as composite, aluminium and acrylic and gives a discreet finish to the smaller sign. Novatrim Composite also takes 2,3 and 4mm panels and shares the same look as Novatrim although it is clearly identified using die pips and grooves. Novatrim Composite and Novatrim 3 are proving to be extremely popular on the high street, utilising the vast range of composite materials available. Multi-panels can be loaded from the front, making Novatrim the choice for installations where access is a problem. Knock in corner angles are available for all sections as well as the conventional right angled corner bracket. Profile views FABRICATION SPECIFICATIONS All Novatrim profiles are simply cut to size by mitring the extrusions to length and depth of frame required. Knock in corner angle ACC 148 is used for Novatrim, Novatrim Plus, Novacurve and Novatrim Composite; alternatively ACC 130 is the extruded corner angle. ACC 149 is the knock in corner angle for Novatrim 3. The extruded corner angle is ACC 146. 11 Novaflex is a tensioning system like no other; it gives a full perimeter tension on the skin and can be rapidly tightened from the front of the sign using power tools. A full perimeter tensioning system ensures wrinkle free skins every time and totally eliminates the chance of any blow out. Novaflex is capable of producing large flexface boxes and has internal support sections to eliminate any bowing of the structure when put under maximum tension. For boxes over 3000mm in height, NOV 406 double support is used and for boxes over 4000mm in height NOV 407 heavy duty side support is available. The system s full bleed capability allows the designer to use the full sign area for maximum graphics impact. SignComp Econoflex is a lightweight versatile system that has the ability to create most shapes and sizes. The system is available in both single and double sided formats and utilises the industry familiar black clip for tensioning. Non illuminated projects can be achieved using just 2 profiles which has a wall projection of just 30mm and a visual site line of 35mm. 13 At just 30mm in depth Novaskin Frame NOV 431 is perfect for non-illuminated flex projects and gives the sign designer the ability to print stunning graphics and yet produce unobtrusive signage. The face framing of Novaskin Frame measures just 15mm giving a near maximum area for graphics impact. Larger frames can incorporate NOV 103 support section giving added strength where required. Both Novatube and Novahood compliments the system perfectly if the sign requires lighting from an overhead installation. To manufacture back lit illuminated sign boxes there are 2 extrusions which fit directly onto the Novacase and Novaslim box systems. One extrusion NOV432 gives the signcase the same 15mm framing as the non-illuminated system and the other NOV 433 allows for a full bleed capability giving the maximum area when designing the signs graphics. Using Novaskin effectively transforms the Novacase and Novaslim light box systems, both of which are extensively used on the high street into a flex face, thus giving all the attributes that these sign cases offer including projection boxes. Novawide at 207mm in depth can also be used for flex face applications. The skin is tensioned and held by tapping a plastic extruded strip into its seating channel giving a rapid and simple method of skin installation. Excess material is simply cut away from around the perimeter by use of the trim channel which guides the blade. 14 POLE & PLANK AN EXTREMELY SIMPLE SYSTEM TO use, Pole & Plank GIVES THE DESIGNER ALL THE REQUIRED OPTIONS TO PRODUCE EXTERIOR WAYFINDING SIGNAGE OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. WAYFINDING SIGNAGE MADE SIMPLE The Pole & Plank system has 14 extrusions in its range, including 78mm diameter round or square posts; a D post measuring 100x78mm and a wall mounted quadrant post with a depth of 40mm. All 3 standing posts have internal ribs which will house a standard 60x40mm steel tube insert when extra bracing is required. A reversible infill bar allows all four posts to be neatly closed off where required. Three sturdy double sided planks are available in widths of 100mm, 150mm and 200mm. Each plank has a screw port facility which takes a specifically designed shoulder location pin which when driven home, is in the correct position to engage the relevant post. This allows the plank or fabricated panel to slide easily in the post s channel and omits the need to attach full height slider units which can prove difficult to fit on-site. Header panels are fabricated using NOV 601 panel plank section and bracing support bar NOV 610 which makes use of VHB double sided tape to produce double sided panels. Budget section NOV 614, can be used as a cost effective solution for single sided panels when using the round post. Units are generally manufactured in mill finish prior to powder coating and delivered to site in flat pack for installation. 17 NOVABEAM NOVABEAM IS AN INNOVATIVE OVERHEAD LIGHTING SYSTEM DESIGNED FOR THE ILLUMINATION OF ALL TYPES OF SIGNAGE AND ADVERTISING HOARDINGS. NOVABEAM - Overhead lighting made simple Novabeam is a quality overhead trough light which has the installer firmly in mind. The system incorporates fixing brackets which have a number of features designed to ensure that any unforseen snags can be easily overcome. Profile views Fixing arms are telescopic, giving a 50mm extension to allow for any uneven surfaces on the fascia. The wall fixing bracket is supplied vertical to the main body section however this can be rotated to the horizontal position should obstacles prove to be a hindrance.
