6. Pre-Installation 1. Measure existing counter and surrounding area to ensure proper fit while referring to Figure 1. - Confirm there is enough space to fit the chassis - Confirm there is enough room at the rear of the counter for the door to fully open and still allow reasonable access. - Confirm whether the Paypod chassis will be placed on top of an existing base or directly on the floor. - Confirm that there is ample load bearing support for a fully loaded Paypod whether it is to be fitted onto an existing base or directly onto the floor. This is the responsibility of the installer. 2. Measure countertop and counter front material thickness. - The Countertop must be at least 18mm in thickness. - The Counter front must be at least 12mm in thickness and no more than 30mm. 3. Assess countertop/counter-front material. A 50mm diameter hole is required in the countertop. Two large holes along with 4 location holes are required in the counter-front. 4. Note: Certain materials such as granite, marble or some metallic materials may not be suitable. 5. Assess whether there is sufficient space in the store to be able to manoeuvre the Paypod into place. An empty embedded chassis weighs in excess of 154 lbs (70kg) so it needs to be transported low to the ground on a dolly or hand truck. 6. Confirm that at least two people will be available to install the Paypod at the retailer due to the weight and size of the unit. 7. Confirm that there are power outlets within a reasonable distance of the Paypod and that any extension cords that may be needed do not cause a safety hazard. 8. Confirm that the POS system is within a reasonable distance of the Paypod and that the USB cable that is needed to communicate between the POS and the Paypod can be routed safely and securely. 9. Make the retailer aware that rework will be required to their existing counters and that dust and other waste material will be created. They may need to prepare for this, especially in a food service environment. EN 11

7. Installation of Paypod 1. Unpack the unit and remove the transportation bolt from the front of the unit. Set the specified height of the legs and adjustable feet based on the measurements taken in pre-installation. This will be dependent on whether it is fitted within an existing counter or to be fitted mounted directly onto the floor. This may require the removal and re-installation of the 8 x M6 nuts and bolts that attach the legs to the chassis (Figure 9). Figure 9: Adjustable height legs 2. Transport the Paypod Chassis into the designated area for installation using a dolly or hand truck as described in preinstallation. 3. Lift the Paypod into the cabinet if there is an existing base, or onto the floor. Make sure at least two people are available for this due to the weight and size of the unit. This is the responsibility of the installer. 4. Place the unit up to the rear of the counter-front and manoeuvre it into its approximate position. EN 12

5. Adjust the feet (Figure 10) so that the top of the chassis is at the specified height of 870mm from the floor of the store (Figure 11). Figure 10: Height adjustable feet Figure 11: Distance from shop floor to top of Paypod EN 13

6. Once in place, unlock and unlatch the door (Figure 12) and bring handle into a perpendicular position until it locks into place (Figure 13). Then carefully rotate the door open until the handle is resting on the ground. If the door starts to go beyond 90 degrees, close the door and re-check the 870mm height from the ground. Figure 12: Door locking mechanism Figure 13: Handle in unlocked position before opening EN 14

7. With the handle resting on the ground and the door at an approximate 90 degree angle (Figure 14), place a level on a flat section of the door to confirm that it is level. Figure 14: Door in open position 8. If it is not level then go back to step 5 and adjust the feet until the door and chassis are level. Make sure that all 4 feet are in contact with the base or the floor and that the chassis is stable and level. 9. Once the position and height has been verified, open the door and pull the cart out to its fully extracted position (Figure 15). Figure 15: Fully extracted cart EN 15

8. Installation WITH Template kit (First follow steps 1-9) 10. Make sure the unit is pushed up against the rear of the counterfront and mark the two holes shown below (Figure 16). Figure 16: Hole locations in counter front 11. Once the two holes have been marked, push the cart fully into the unit and close and latch the door. Make sure at least two people are available to perform step 12 due to the weight of the unit. This is the responsibility of the installer. 12. Move the Paypod chassis to another location away from the work area to provide access to the inside of the counter. For steps 13 through 20 ensure that personal protective equipment is utilized to protect eyes and hands and to prevent inhalation of particulate. 13. Once the work area is clear, use a 6mm drill bit to drill the two marked holes from the rear of the counter-front. EN 16

14. Using the front mounting template provided, attach the template to the front of the counter-front by inserting the two threaded studs on the template into the two drilled holes. Make sure that the TOP or PAYPOD indication on the template is nearest the countertop and is the right way up (Figure 17). TOP Figure 17: Front Installation template 15. At the rear of the counter, place the Cup template onto the threaded studs and slide the top face of the template up until it is pressed against the underside of the countertop. Then secure using the two nuts provided (Figure 18). Figure 18: Cup installation template EN 17

16. Use the location hole on the Cup template to drill a 6mm hole straight through from the underside of the countertop. Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the drill or causing an obstruction on the top face of the countertop. 17. Move round to the front of the counter-front and mark out the two apertures for the bill and coin bezels. 18. Once the locations have been marked, remove the two nuts and then remove both the Front template and Cup template from the counter. 19. Using the 6mm hole that was drilled into the countertop, use a 60-65mm hole cutter to drill down from the top of the countertop through to the bottom of the countertop. Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the drill or causing an obstruction on the bottom face of the countertop. 20. Use a suitable tool to cut-out the necessary shapes in the counterfront. Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the cutter or causing an obstruction on the front of the counter. (Continue to Step 27) EN 18

9. Installation WITHOUT Template kit (First follow steps 1-9) 21. Use a marker to draw out the rectangular holes, the 4 location holes for the fascia and the circular hole on the top panel for the entry cup (Figure 19). Figure 19: Chassis hole alignment 22. Once the 2 rectangular cut-outs and the 4 location holes have been marked at the front and the circular hole has been marked at the top. Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the drill or causing an obstruction on the front of the counter.* EN 19

25. Use a suitable tool to cut-out the necessary shapes in the counter-front. Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the cutter or causing an obstruction on the front of the counter.* 26. Find the centre of the circular hole at the bottom of the countertop and use a 6mm drill bit to drill up through to the top of the countertop. Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the drill or causing an obstruction on the top face of the countertop.* 27. Once that location hole is available, use a 60-65mm hole cutter to drill down from the top of the countertop into the counter. Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the drill or causing an obstruction on the bottom face of the countertop. *Drilling/cutting from the rear can cause any potential veneer on the counter-front to lift and may result in irreversible damage that will not be covered up by the fascia. CPI recommends using the template, so that most cuts are made from the front of the counter. It is the responsibility of the installer to make sure that any modifications made to the counter do not cause visible damage. EN 20

10. Final Chassis Installation 28. Clean up all drilled or cut edges using sandpaper or a file. Be careful to make sure that no area is damaged that won t be covered by the front fascia or the input cup. 29. Remove all debris and clean the area. 30. Re-install the Paypod chassis into its location by lining up the holes that have been cut. If it is necessary to re-adjust, do so at this point. 31.
