2 MOUNTING ON BASE PLATES 1.Mounting posts on base plates Tools: Tape-measure, mounting template, angle grinder or hacksaw, hammer, screw gun, percussion drill or hammer drill Mark out the base plate footprints on the floor using the mounting templates or by placing posts at mm centres. Tools: Tape measure and mounting template 1.2. Cut the posts to 1900 mm or adjust to the desired height Insert the 2 halves of the base plate into the post and drill (10.5 mm bit) through the inner wall of the post Draw a 15x140 mm rectangle on the lower corners of the panels to be installed on either side of the post, and cut out using a hacksaw (from the slat side) so that the panels fit snugly over the base plates Drill 4 holes into the floor as marked previously, 10 mm diameter to a depth of 80 mm Use a hammer to drive the anchor plugs into the holes Position and shim the 2 halves of the base plate Fit the ALUCLOS (PO23) post, previously cut to size and drilled, over the base plate and assemble using the 2 screws CHC M10 and 2 nuts HM Check that the post is vertical, shim if required and tighten the nuts on the hammer drive anchors. Setting posts in concrete SETTING IN CONCRETE 1.1 Stretch a line to mark the fence run and use a picket to mark the location of each post ( mm centres). 1.2 Dig out the post holes (40 x 40 x 40 cm) and mark post locations on the ground using the mounting templates or by placing posts at mm centres. Posts must be set in dense, consistent soil: you may need to dig larger holes if you think the type of terrain requires them Fill the first hole with concrete. Adjust the height and tamp the concrete around the post Position the 2nd post parallel to the 1st and slide 2 mounting templates into the post grooves or place posts at mm centres. Adjust plumb using a spirit level Continue along the fence run taking care to adjust the plumb on all posts. Leave the concrete to set before fitting the panels Assembling the screen wall panels 2.1. Peel off a 5 cm wide strip of protective film on both sides of the panel. The remaining film will be removed once installation is complete Place two panels on top of each other Crimp the edges to join the two panels together P.3/5

4 3. Preparing the screen wall panels 3.1.Snap fix the PVC joint elements into the panel side grooves. CL18 CL18 J18 J18 4. Mounting the screen wall panels 4.1.Once assembled (with a PVC joint element either side), slide the screen wall panel between posts making sure the fronts of the panel and the posts are facing the right way (flat side of the post facing forward). Front 5.Trim 5.1. Manually fit the trim items (polycarbonate end cap on top of posts and blanking plate into the side groove on posts). Polycarbonate end cap 5.2. 5 Special cases Dealing with angles : Thanks to ALUCLOS technology, the same post is used as a starter post, an end post, an intermediate post and to deal with angles. The PVC joint element is used to change the angle of the panel inside the post groove (45 for each groove) to achieve configurations ranging from 180 to 90 using a single post. Simply angle the post and/or the panels on either side of it achieve the right configuration. 135 angle 90 angle 180 angle Using the connecting U-bracket: Case no. 1: When starting from or ending against a wall. Case no. 2: Mounting a panel less than 1800 mm wide between 2 posts a) Position the U-bracket in the right place and mark its position and the positions of fastening hardware. b) Drill holes in the wall using a 10 x 50 bit and use a hammer to drive the plugs into the holes. c) Place the U-bracket and set in place using the lag screws and a 13 mm open-end spanner. d) Cut the panel to the right width taking care to protect it. e) Slide the panel into the U-bracket. Plug 10x50 a) Manually fit the blanking plate on the post. b) Drill the U-bracket and blanking plate through to the post groove back wall (inclusive). c) Fasten the U-bracket to the blanking plate using the mounting kit and tighten both screws and nuts. d) Slide the panel end into the U-bracket. WARNING: The connecting U-bracket cannot be used to form an angle: therefore, it is extremely important NOT to start the run at an angle, or form an angle where a panel has been cut short. P.5/5
