Screw Points Wood Applications Standard screw point for fastening into Wood and other medium to soft materials. Long, sharp point with flute, which creates its own pilot point as well as displaces some wood chips. Metal Applications Needle point designed for use in relatively thin sections. The point literally stabs through the material, making a hole slightly smaller than the minor diameter of the threads. This allows the threads to extrude the metal for increased thread engagement and reduces the tendency to strip-out. Point designed to drill through very thin sections too thick to be pierced. The number of the point determines the drilling capacity of the fastener. The higher the number, the thicker the material that can be drilled. The result is a decorative matte black finish. Black oxide by itself provides virtually no protection against corrosive environments. Additional treatments like oil or wax are needed for corrosion resistance. But even with oil or wax, black oxide only offers moderate protection and as such is ideally suited for indoor applications. Phosphate coating is used to reduce friction during installation and increase corrosion protection. You will most often find phosphate coating on drywall fasteners. Phosphate coating protects the fastener from corrosion although it is recommended that they are used for interior use only and not in treated lumber. Zinc-plated steel is a low carbon steel for general use. Relatively inexpensive, with the zinc plating providing moderate corrosion resistance suitable for indoors or otherwise dry conditions. Yellow Zinc is similar to an Electro Galvanized fastener but may offer slightly better corrosion protection. Yellow Zinc fasteners are recommended for interior applications. Dacrotizing is a pollution-free ceramic coating for fasteners used with treated lumber. The coating offers corrosion protection comparable to hot-dip galvanizing without discoloring the wood. Screws with a proper Dacrotized coating can typically withstand a 500-hour salt-spray test. Dacrotizing minimizes greatly the risk of hydrogen embrittlement so baking the part is not required after the finish is applied. Ruspert is a premium coating that started out exclusively for industrial and automotive applications. It comes in many colors and is spread consistently on the fastener ensuring a smooth uniform thickness that prevents recess head and thread fill. The fastener is Zinc and Zinc Nickel plated before being electro coated to provide ultimate corrosion protection. The coating Sabre Metals uses for its fasteners withstands up to 1,000 hours of salt spray before starting to show signs of corrosion. This results in some of the best corrosion protection in the industry. Popular with metal roofing companies. Stainless steel fasteners offer the best corrosion protection available. The steel may oxidize or rust over time but it will never lose its strength from corrosion. Pull the trigger to elevate the bolt while electric current is applied simultaneously. The compression spring inside the gun will press the weld stud downward to the molten steel. Actual welding conditions should be adjusted according to working environment. Always refer to the equipment manufacturers instructions for model specific welding condition information. All Weld Studs are lot traceable and ship with inspection certificates, assuring quality in every carton. 45 General Terms & Conditions 1. FREIGHT: All transportation charges are FOB from Sabre Metals warehouse. Sabre Metals reserves the right to alter this policy prior to order confirmation. Deviations from this policy must be agreed to by Sabre Metals and the Customer at the time an order is entered and prior to order confirmation. 2. MININUM ORDER: Per box, as indicated. 3. RETURNS: Materials returned for credit or exchange will be accepted only under the following conditions: a. Materials must be current, cataloged, and must have been purchased within the thirty days immediately preceding the return of such materials. Specials and discontinued products, defined at the sole discretion of Sabre Metals, cannot be returned. b. Prior to returning any product to Sabre Metals, approval and a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number must be obtained. Freight carrier and routing must also be approved by Sabre Metals c. Materials received by Sabre Metals without prior approval and authorization number will be returned, freight collect, to the Customer. The RGA number must be printed on all outer cartons. d. All transportation charges must be paid by Customer. If Sabre Metals determines the product to be defective, Customer's account will be credited, including the appropriate freight charges. e. Returning materials for credit or exchange are subject to a minimum restocking charge of 15% plus any freight expenses originally incurred by Sabre Metals in the delivery of said and will be calculated at the sole discretion of Sabre Metals All returns must be in saleable condition. 4. ADDITIONS AND CANCELLATIONS: Additions to orders already processed can only be made prior to those orders being shipped. If an order has shipped, the addition will be treated as a new and separate order, and all standard rules and conditions regarding minimums, freight, etc. will apply. Customer cancellations of unshipped or partially shipped orders may result in adjustments to pricing, discounts or freight allowances and may result in charge backs to the Customer. Special orders cannot be cancelled. 5. CUSTOMER CREDITS: All invoicing disputes that require a customer credit must be resolved within 60 days of receipt of invoice. Sabre Metals must be notified of all discrepancies in shipping within 72 hours. 6. PAYMENT TERMS: Sabre Metals standard terms of sale are Net 30 days from date of invoice, payable in U.S. funds. Discounts are not applicable to freight amounts. 7. COLLECTION COSTS: All costs resulting from the collection of any monies due from the Customer, including finance charges, court costs and reasonable attorney's fees, will be the responsibility of the Customer. 8. DELAY: Sabre Metals shall not be liable for any failure or delay in delivery caused by any reason beyond the control of Sabre Metals Definition of control is at the sole discretion of Sabre Metals In the event of delay deemed by Sabre Metals to be under its control, liability is limited to a maximum of $150 or the cost of shipping the delayed materials expediently, whichever is less. 9. BACK ORDERS: Back orders in excess of 120 days will be automatically cancelled. Back ordered items will be billed at prices ruling at the time of the original order, providing there has been no substantial increase in cost to Sabre Metals If Sabre Metals is unable to ship a back ordered item at the original price, the Customer may cancel the back order or accept the new price without changing the shipping terms or discounts on the original order. 10. WARRANTY AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Sabre Metals will repair or replace any product which it considers to be defective in material or workmanship, excepting normal wear and tear, within 60 days from the date of purchase from Sabre Metals, Sabre Metals shall not be liable for any injury, loss or damage (direct, indirect, incidental or consequential) arising out of use of, misuse of, negligence, accident or inability to use any Sabre Metals product.
