We design for most contingencies, but installation may be different based on different Jeep condition, configuration and/or year. We are continually trying to improve our products and instructions please help us by providing feedback and pictures if you find any part of the instructions that do not match your particular Jeep or are not easily understandable. 2 Section 1: Tools & Notes on Installation Tools Required: This list is the recommended tools for ease of installation. Other versions of the same tool can be used. For example, Allen Wrenches instead of Allen Drive Sockets. Be sure to use metric on metric and SAE on SAE. Socket & Ratchet Wrench 9/16 Hex Drive Socket 10mm Hex Drive Socket 13mm Hex Drive Socket 1/8 Drill 3/8 Drill 7/16 Drill 17/32 Drill 7/32 Allen Drive Socket or Wrench Center Punch 11/16 Crescent or Box Wrench Clamps HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE: The installation guide contains ALL steps for installation. Please read and follow the instructions in order of each page top to bottom, and left to right. Jeep Model: Instructions may apply to multiple Jeep models, but are labeled separately where appropriate (i.e. TJ vs. LJ). Options: Because of the number of component options we offer, these instructions may contain steps that will not match your particular configuration. You can skip these steps. Images: Pictures are provided and parts are labeled throughout the instructions. Each text box contains guidance based on the pictures next to it. The text will refer to alphabetical labels (A, B, etc.) found in the images. 4 Section 2: Jeep Preparation Step 1: Remove Stock Rocker and Align Rocker Exo-Skin A. Remove stock rocker on your jeep using a 10mm socket to remove the stock nuts, and a 13mm socket to remove the stock bolt on the underside of the rocker. For a 2-Door models there are 2 positions as shown, and 3 on the 4-Door. B. Align rocker exo-skin with the bottom of the door and clamp. 5 Section 2: Jeep Preparation Step 2: Install Rocker Exo-Skin C. Mark each bolt hole with center punch. D. Unclamp and remove rocker exo-skin from side of Jeep. E. Start drilling bolt holes starting with the 1/8 drill bit stepping up (1/8 drill bit, 3/8 drill bit, 7/16 drill bit, 7/32 drill bit) to the final hole size being 17/32. C F. Use a 11/16 box wrench and a 9/16 socket or box wrench to Install rivet nuts using the provided rivet nut tool. DO NOT FOR GET THE LOCK WASHER WHEN INSTALLING THE RIVET NUTS. 6 Section 2: Jeep Preparation Step 2: Install Rocker Exo-Skin G. Place provided rubber gasket on the inside of the front end of rocker exoskin. H. Remount and clamp rocker exo-skin to Jeep aligning with the drilled out holes. I. Install provided bolts using a 7/32 hex drive socket and tighten. G J. Re-install stock rocker rail.
