1 Diablo 3 Collector s Edition. Work involved coordinating between printer, box converter, and multiple outside design agencies to provide dielines and working files, press testing specialty printing techniques, coatings and papers, performing extensive color explorations with prepress house and printer, handson final production, and attending press checks in U.S. and Canada.

2 Diablo 3 Collector s Edition support materials. Work involved hands-on final production of support materials related to Collector s Edition (disc labels, digipacks, slipsheets, guest passes, disc sleeves, ). Special challenges included maintaining color consistency across multiple printers using conventional, flexo and UV printing, and working with Chinese vendors to develop a complex dieline for one of the pieces, then print and color match.

3 Diablo 3 Standard Edition. Work involved press tests with printer to explore color and coating issues (Soft Touch), durability of final coated (i.e. no cracking at folds, especially with heavy ink coverage), hands-on final production of mechanical for multiple box dielines (domestic and international release), and press checks.

4 StarCraft II Collector s Edition. Work involved extensive color and ink explorations with the printer and prepress house, generating spot plate alpha channels for coatings, hands-on final production of mechanical, and press checks.

Work involved hands-on final production of support materials related to Collector s Edition (disc labels, digipacks, slipsheets, guest passes, disc sleeves, ). 7 World of Warcraft Cataclysm Collector s Edition. Work involved extensive color explorations onsite at prepress house, building spot alpha channels for multiple coatings and inks, hands-on final production of mechanical, and attending press checks.

Work involved hands-on final production of support materials related to Collector s Edition (disc labels, digipacks, slipsheets, guest passes, disc sleeves, ). Special challenges included maintaining color consistency across multiple printers using conventional, flexo and UV printing, and press checking elements.

9 World of Warcraft Cataclysm Standard Edition. Work involved extensive channel mixing/color explorations onsite at prepress house, building spot alpha channels for multiple coatings and inks, hands-on final production of mechanicals for multiple box dielines, and attending press checks at two different printers (one running a UV press with inline coatings, the other conventional with offline spot gloss UV).

10 World of Warcraft Battlechest. Work involved updating previously existing mechanical and adapting it from a basic dieline to one that featured a flap front, color correcting and retouching, creating spot alpha channels for multiple coatings.

11 Packaging for employee recognition award. The box was prepped as a seven color job (CMYK + K + PMS Metallic Silver + Reflex Blue). Work involved coordinating with multiple vendors to secure and test for proper fit of dielines, complicated manipulation of spot alpha channels for multiple colors and strikethrough varnish coating, extensive color proofing, final production of mechanical, and press checking.

12 client: concord records artist: sergio mendes CD digipack, disc and booklet for Sergio Mendes Timeless. Work performed included wrangling voluminous text content from client, retouching, digital illustration and compositing, alpha channel work for spot color plates, recreating hand-drawn lineart in Illustrator, and all aspects of final production. CD was nominated for a Latin Grammy for art direction.

13 client: sarathan records artist: airpushers CD digipack, disc and insert poster for Airpushers Themes for the Ordinarily Strange. Digipack was printed CMYK on foil stock with selective white underprinting, spot color hits and sculpted embossing. Work performed included formatting content, retouching, digital illustration and compositing, photography, alpha channel work for spot color plates, and all aspects of final production.

14 client: a&m records artist: blackeyed peas Graphic elements for the Blackeyed Peas album Monkey Business. Work performed recreating gravurestyle artwork in Illustrator. All line work was done by hand using scanned currency as reference. Guilloche patterns were modified and incorporated into the artwork.

15 client: cendant agency: hamagami/ carroll Dr. Brain Thinking Games. Final production on software box combining material from a wide variety of sources (screen grabs, illustrations, vector artwork), in addition to trapping double hit spot colors and CMYK printing over metallic silver coating.

16 client: cendant agency: hamagami/ carroll Packaging for Blizzard s StarCraft. Job involved complex Photoshop compositing, creating alpha channel masks for spot gloss UV coating, and all final production.

17 client: cendant agency: hamagami/ carroll Packaging for MGM Interactive s WarGames. Job involved precise compositing and distortion of 3D renderings, illustrations, and elements created in Illustrator, plus all final production.

18 client: cendant agency: hamagami/ carroll Packaging for Knowledge Adventure s JumpStart software. Job involved prepping mechanicals for six-color printing. Special challenges included generating alpha channel masks for overprinting CMYK drop shadows over PMS backgrounds, and maintaining visual uniformity of consistent branding/type elements over two different 10-box collections.

19 client: safeway agency: publicis Promotional soda for Safeway Select sodas. Work performed included retouching, digital compositing, working with custom dies and all final production.

20 Color test to visualize ink laydowns in different CMYK color spaces (FOGRA27, GRACoL, Sheetfed and Web). Performed to illustrate how different RGB-to-CMYK color conversions yield quite different ink laydowns, and how that would affect final color management on press.
