2 MEET THE ILLUSTRATOR I am: An illustrator. I'm not sure which I enjoy more: drawing my subject or coloring it in. I'm from: Grand Rapids, MI. (But I've lived in Chicago for 16 years almost half my life!) My inspiration: Children's books, nature, comic books, other artists but lately: old photos and random pictures I find on Instagram. NEW My favorite things to do: My best day is one that's busy from morning to bedtime, hiking and playing outside with my family, sharing a meal with our friends, good food, an ice cream cone and some drawing. Plans for summer: I love being outside, especially with my kids. I'm looking forward to hiking, berry picking, swimming, bike rides, water parks and lots of popsicles. Weirdest things you've been asked to draw: Honestly, nothing is too weird for me. My dad always said "weird" was a compliment, so I like weird. If you look at children's books, the weird parts are often the best.
