1 Yufeng (Kevin) Chen CONTACT INFORMATION School of Engineering and Applied Sciences 60 Oxford St, Room 407 Cambridge, MA (609) RESEARCH INTERESTS My research focuses on investigating millimeter-scaled biomechanics, distilling the underlying physical principles, and applying these findings to enable novel functions in microrobots. I take an integrated approach of combining high-throughput experiments and high-fidelity numerical simulations. I am particularly interested in studying fluid-wing interactions of flapping wing systems and incorporating this design into microrobots to enable novel functions such as swimming or walking on the water surface. Research areas: Microrobotics Fluid mechanics Bio-inspired design Multimodal locomotion Terradynamics System dynamics EDUCATION Ph.D. Engineering Science Major: Engineering Sciences, minor: Computational Science Cumulative GPA: 4.0/4.0 Cornell University B.S.
