The Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum depicts the 5,000-year history, present and future of information and communication technology over 6,000 m² of floorspace, from the origins of numbers and writing all the way to the computer age of the 21st century. Over 2,000 objects provide a unique overview of inventions and developments in the field of information technology and their impact on cultural, social and economic history. The hands-on exhibits include old office machines, historic computer games and numerous interactive multimedia stations, effectively combining information and entertainment for the visitor. The Hall of Fame takes centre stage in this section of the exhibition. The biographies and achievements of 15 pioneers of information technology, from Wilhelm Schickard via Herman Hollerith all the way to Konrad Zuse and Heinz Nixdorf, are presented here. 7
