Dice, Templtes, objective counters nd Tpe mesure Superglue nd poly cement The pproprite English lnguge version of your Codex nd ny Imperil Armour mteril relting to your rmy. No photocopies! At lest two copies of your rmy roster A Try to crry your models Pen nd pper Upon rrivl ech plyer will be ssigned to tem, clled Tsk Force, contining up to eight plyers. You nd the other plyers in your Tsk Force re llied field commnders fighting s prt of the Imperil Expedition Fleet or one of the lien domins rryed ginst them Pcificus, Obscurus, Tempestus nd the Ultim. These domins contin number of dominnt lien fctions ech with their own gends nd they represent the five sides of the conflict s they bttle it out to determine the fte of the glxy. The cmpign will be fought in six rounds nd tke plce on number of Wrzones. Ech round series of bttles will be fought using the 5th Edition Wrhmmer 40,000 gme rules. Ech plyer within the cmpign will tke prt in ech round. Ech fction hs number of objectives to chieve over the course of the weekend. These objectives will be reveled s the cmpign unfolds. There re number of Tsk Forces for ech fction ech with their own gends, strengths nd weknesses. When you purchse your ticket you re ssigned to tskforce. Before the first gme on Sturdy you will be sked to gther t one of the tsk force muster points nd nominte Tsk Force Commnder. The role of the Tsk Force Commnder is of crucil importnce to the tem nd it is the Commnder's responsibility t the end of ech gme to collte results nd hnd those bck to your Fction Mrshl, who will be represented by member of the event tem. Do not elect n incompetent Tskforce Commnder you will regret it! Inititive The inititive in the first round is determined by the nrrtive for ech Wrzone nd is indicted under the Wrzone description. Inititive in ech subsequent round is determined by the results of the previous round. At the beginning of ech round the Tsk Force tht hs the inititive in the Wrzone will receive Mission Briefing which includes list of mission objectives. The Tskforce Commnder (tking dvice from the Tskforce) must then decide upon the objective of the turn nd my even hve the choice of which mission you will ply to chieve them. The mission selected must be the sme for the whole Tsk Force you cnnot chnge it depending on who your opponent is. Once they hve mde their joint decision the plyers in Tsk Force with the Inititive must select the tbles on which the gmes will be plyed; plyers on the opposing side then come over to their ssigned Wrzone nd pir up. Plyers cnnot select tbles from outside of their Wrzone to fight on. Deployment nd tble sides re determined s norml. 4 Bttle Stnce Ech round you my set how your tskforce intends to fight Aggressive, Defensive or Blnced. Aggressive stnce wrds bonus points for wins but nothing for drws or losses, defensively rewrds wins nd drws eqully. As you must decide your Bttle Stnce before you ply your gmes ech round you hve to rely on your judgement s to its outcome. Chose crefully s picking n ggressive stnce mkes your drws worthless, while defensive stnce squnders ny bonus from winning. If in doubt choose blnced stnce. As your gmes finish you must report the result (Win, Lose or Drw) to the stge long with your opponent. You cnnot give your results in without your opponent present. Wht You Will Need You will require pinted Wrhmmer 40,000 rmy designed to crete four distinct forces, s indicted in the following sections. You will require t lest two copies of your rmy lists. These must include ll of the models in your rmy, their point vlues, nd the points of ny upgrdes or wrger. One of these you should keep with you during the entire weekend, nd the other should be hnded in t registrtion for inspection by Tsk Force Mrshl. You will need to rrnge somewhere to sleep overnight. A Yellow Crd offence which is repeted will result in Red Crd being given which requires the plyer to be excluded from the event. 5 th Edition Rules of Enggement The Wrhmmer 40,000 5 th Edition rules will be used for this cmpign weekend, s will the ltest Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) documents from the Gmes Workshop website. These errt hve been specificlly updted for 5 th Edition nd re of rel importnce for plyers tking prt. There re severl significnt chnges to the wy the gme plys compred to 4 th Edition (nd on the whole they mke for vstly more enjoyble gme!) On the Tempus Fugitives forums nd in vrious plytesting gmes severl interesting interprettions of the rules cme up s well s certin chnges to the rules being forgotten nd 4 th Edition used insted. So here re few reminders nd clrifictions to keep in mind s you bttle for glctic dominnce. Annihiltion Kill Points: Ech unit is worth one Kill Point. An importnt exception is n Imperil Army Infntry Pltoon see Codex Imperil Gurd or the Imperil Army section of this pck. Units brought bck into ply fter being destroyed re worth Kill point ech time they re destroyed. Primrchs re worth two Kill points. Combt Resolution: The winning nd losing of close combts is decided purely by the number of unsved wounds inflicted. There is no more outnumbering, or rtios. If one squd inflicts t lest one more wound upon its enemy tht it receives, it wins the combt, pure nd simple. Furthermore, the losing squd must tke Morle check to remin locked in combt, but tken with negtive modifier equl to the number of wounds by which it lost the combt! (Ferless units who lose close combt must insted tke number of dditionl wounds, which cn be sved, equl to the number of wounds by which it lost the combt!) You my never move into combt with n enemy unit unless s prt of n ssult move t the beginning of the ssult phse. So no sweeping into n enemy unit fter wiping out their next door neighbour, no rolling up the Imperil Army gun line nd no Righteous Zel moves into combt fter their opponents shoot them. Dwn of Wr: A mrine unit split into Combt Squds count s two Troop choices for Dwn of Wr deployment. 5 Deep Striking: If unit suffers deep strike mishp nd rolls 3 4 on the mishp chrt, their opponent MUST deepstrike the unit in vlid loction (not off the tble, into impssble terrin or nother unit). You cn run fter entering ply vi Deep Strike (but my not ssult unless the units rules specificlly stte otherwise). Drop Pods my not shoot on the turn they lnd. Feel No Pin: Now this bility is ignored by plsm nd other AP2 or AP1 weponry. Lst Mn Stnding: There is no rule for Lst Mn Stnding in 5 th Edition. Ledership: A unit under hlf strength no longer receives penlty of 1 to their ledership. Pistols: Now Assult 1 nd so pistols cnnot be rpid fired if you re sttionry. Lightning Clws, Powerfists & Thunder Hmmers: You cnnot get +1 ttck for n dditionl close combt wepon with these unless tht dditionl wepon is lso Thunder Hmmer or Power Fist. Relic Bldes: Grnt the user Strength of 6. This cnnot be improved in ny wy or be combined with n dditionl close combt wepon.

You must hve enough models to field your rmy s Hevy Assult force. All models within your rmies should conform to "wht you see is wht you get" (WYSIWYG). In other words, ll equipment tht cn be ppropritely shown should be clerly modelled on ech miniture. Units (but not formtions) from the Apoclypse Expnsion, Apoclypse Relod nd Imperil Armour: Apoclypse re permitted in this cmpign. Home mde Apoclypse dtfx re not permitted. Vehicles detiled only in Forge World's Imperil Armour publictions my be used. If vehicle is described in more thn one Forge World publiction (for exmple the Griffon), the most recent version must be used. If the vehicle hs n Apoclypse Dtfx vilble for it then tht should be used insted. Plese contct the Tempus Fugitives if in doubt. No VDR rules re permitted in the cmpign. The Wrhmmer 40,000 Cities of Deth expnsion will not be used in this cmpign. With few notble exceptions, you my not include Specil Chrcters from ny rmy Codex. Any nmed chrcters vilble to the rmies prticipting in the Gret Crusde will be indicted on the relevnt rmy selection pge. No llies of ny kind my be tken in n rmy (including Kroot Mercenries, Grey Knights etc). Insted Armies my use the Fction Specific Units insted which re found in this document. Any reference to your rmy or the entire rmy lwys refers to your specific forces nd not those of ny plyer llied to you or plying with you in doubles gme. This voids confusing issues such s multiple Legion tctics or other such benefits. Pinting nd the Best Army Awrd The Age of the Emperor ws time of hope nd glory for the fledgling Imperium of Mnkind. We would sk ll plyers to choose pinting schemes tht reflect the Wrhmmer 40,000 universe during this time nd doing this will gretly increse everyone's enjoyment of the cmpign. All models MUST be pinted nd representtive of the pproprite type of troop. Models must t lest be bsed on or include significnt prt of Citdel miniture. You cnnot use model tht does not meet these criteri. If you re plnning conversion tht you think my need clrifiction plese contct us before the event. At the Age of the Emperor: The Gret Crusde Cmpign Weekend we will give n wrd for the Best Army. This is wrded to the plyer who prticiptes in the weekend with force tht, in the opinion of both plyers nd judges, is the best in terms of pinting nd chrcter. 6 To qulify s the Best Army prticulr ttention will be pid to well themed rmies which reflect the time of the Gret Crusde s humnity pushes outwrds from Terr to reclim the glxy s their birthright. Becuse we believe tht due credit should go to plyers tht hve pinted their own rmies, only plyers who hve pinted their rmies themselves my be eligible for the coveted wrd of Best Army. We sk ll prticipnts to be honest if shortlisted. A number of rmies will be shortlisted on the Sturdy lunch brek nd then will be voted on by the plyers during the Sundy lunch brek. The winner will be nnounced t the end of the Cmpign Weekend. Awrds Ceremony The Age of the Emperor ws time of heroism nd the Awrds Ceremony is n opportunity to give recognition to those who hve mde gret scrifice on the ltr of wr. As soon s possible fter the conclusion of the finl gme we will begin the wrds ceremony nd we strongly recommend ll plyers to sty for the ceremony to cheer (or commiserte with) those wrded! A note on unique units nd nmed chrcters: The whole point of plying in historicl setting is to llow you to re enct some of the fntstic bttles you hve red bout in the books nd novels. You re ctively encourged to use these units nd chrcters. An Emperor s Children rmy without Trvitz or Lucius (or Fulgrim) just isn t quite s exciting! However, s this is wrgme it is possible tht you will either ply longside other plyers with the sme chrcters or my even pir up with them for the doubles. Just ssume tht either one of the duplicte chrcters is just similr chrcter or pick nother prtner.

Prt of the fun of these smll rmies is doing something bit unique tht you might not hve the time to do with lrger rmy. Ech plyer must hve no more thn 1000 points. Recon Detchments fight the Cpture nd Control mission using the Sperhed deployment from the 5 th Edition Wrhmmer 40,000 rulebook. Recon Detchments must hve one troop choice. You my spend remining points from nywhere in the Codex subject to the Recon Detchment Force Orgnistion chrt provided. No Formtions, Legendry Units or units with Structure points Artillery, Flyers, Drop Pods, Termites or Lnd Riders my not be tken. Vehicles such s these re not deployed for the type of missions undertken by Recon Detchment. No Monstrous cretures, or vehicles with n rmour vlue of 12 or higher on ny fcing (except dedicted trnsports) No ordnnce wepons or models with 2+ rmour sve re llowed (except for the Mrtin Mechnicum, Iron Hnds nd Slmnder Legions who my tke single HQ choice in Artificer or Termintor rmour). One Troop choice without trnsport my be deployed s forwrd sentries. The unit opertes in dispersed formtion of up to 3 between ech model nd gins the Infiltrte universl rule (or stelth if they lredy hve infiltrte). The unit does not count s scoring unit nd lwys uses the lowest ledership vlue within the unit for tking morle tests (representing the unit operting wy from the commnd structure). Up to two units my purchse the Stelth bility for 30 points. This should be modelled ppropritely s either technologicl or cmouflge ppliction). Dedicted trnsports for units with the Stelth upgrde my lso be given the Stelth bility for n extr 30 points. These re in ddition to ny other units or chrcters tht hve the Stelth bility. 7

It is clculted use of force in the min Bttleforce tht tries to chieve the objectives of the wr before either side cn mobiles the heviest of their rmour. Min Bttleforce re chosen s follows: Min Bttleforce usully (but not lwys) fights Annihiltion missions from pge 91 of the 5 th Edition Wrhmmer 40,000 rulebook. Remember: Tskforces with the inititive my decide whether or not to undertke specil mission to chieve their objectives so mke sure your rmy works in more thn one type of mission. All members of the Tsk Force must ply the sme mission nd they must inform their opponents before the gme begins. Must be no more thn 2000 points. My include models or units from the Recon Detchment nd the Dethblow Detchment but my not use ny of the dditionl benefits provided by the Recon Detchment or Dethblow Detchment (such s Stelth or Forwrd Sentries). Is selected using the Stndrd Missions Force Orgnistion Chrt found in the 5 th Edition Wrhmmer 40,000 Rulebook. Astrtes Legion rmies my include one dditionl HQ choice thn is normlly permitted (giving totl of 3 for Min Bttleforce). Imperil Army nd Mechnicum forces my field n dditionl Hevy Support choice (giving totl of 4 for Min Bttleforce). Models with rules in the Apoclypse rulebook or Imperil Armour: Apoclypse MUST be used over those found in other Imperil Armour books (for exmple the Vlkyrie nd Hydr). Dethblow Detchments re selected ccording to the following restrictions. Prt of the fun of these smll rmies is doing something bit unique tht you might not hve the time to do with lrger rmy. Ech plyer must hve no more thn 1000 points. Imperil forces must spend t lest 400 points on Elites nd HQ choices. Dethblow Detchments fight the Annihiltion mission using the Dwn of Wr deployment from the 5 th Edition Wrhmmer 40,000 rulebook. Dethblow Detchments re selected ccording to the Dethblow Detchment Force Orgnistion chrt provided. No Formtions or units with Structure points. They my include Legendry Units. Flyers my not be tken.
