Programme Star W.A.R.S Introduction Jedi Trainees have gathered together to go through different training courses in Jedi Academy to be trained as Jedi Knights. Trained Jedi Knights will be skilled in W.A.R.S to shine and bring Light wherever they are, as they discover the True force in their life. Script for Introduction and Platform Games Introduction Host 1 Hello Jedi trainees! Welcome to Jedi Academy. We are Jedi and Jedi. Host 2 So nice to see all of you here! I am sure all of you are here to be trained to be qualified as Jedi Knights. Oh! And I see some new faces who joined the Jedi Academy today. Can you all stand up? So that we can welcome you! -clap clap- Now to qualify for the Jedi Training program you will need to pass 2 tests in order to go for the official training. So trainees! Give it your best shot. Ready or not, the testing begins! Game 1: Sound Wars Host 1 & Host 2 The first test is called Sound Wars. The characteristics of a Jedi Knight includes having quick reflexes and fast adaptability. Hence all of you got to show your potential through this test. Logistics/Remarks Star Wars music (main title) Sound clips, instruction slides, leaders to demonstrate Instructions: All trainees will need to respond as fast as they can according to the music that will be played. Each music represents a set of actions that they must do within 5 seconds. Music/Actions 1) IMPERIAL MARCH : Use both hands cover nose and mouth. (Like darth vader's mask.) *(Prep leaders beforehand to

2) LIGHTSABER FIGHT: Get into groups of 5, stand in a circle and pretend to be holding a lightsaber against each other. be on standby to demo) 3) BLASTER: Form a line of 10. Each to pretend to be holding a big blaster (gun) while balancing on one leg. 4) R2D2: All to squat down with arms by the side, palms facing down. Sounds easy? Let the test begin! Host 2 Jedi Trainees, I must say, I am very impressed by your quick reflexes and agility. Congratulations trainees! All of you have passed the first test. Host 1 & Host 2 (one asks qns, the other one will give the answer) Now, let me test you all some questions about Star Wars before we move on to the next test. 1) In the Star Wars universe, there are 2 sides of the Force. What are they called? Answer: Light (Jedi Knights) and Dark side (Darth Vadar, Stormtroopers etc) 2) What did the Dark side wanted to do? Answer: They wanted gain power and rule the Star Wars Universe using negative forces (like greed, anger, fear, hatred ) 3) And what did the Jedi do? Answer: They wanted to protect and maintain the peace and order in the Star Wars Universe. They trained up to become Jedi Knights and they need to stay vigilant to stay in the Light side. This is will be done in Q&A style so the hosts can get children on stage to answer the questions before revealing the correct answer. Show slides Game 2: DIY Lightsaber Host 1 Now, we got the facts right! Jedi Trainees, all of you are on your way to become Jedi Knights where all of you will first be trained you all in W.A.R.S. This is a very important training as it will train you all to be vigilant and to stay in the Light! Host 2 The next test requires all of you to work together in your team to make ONE Mahjong paper, masking tape,

Lightsaber. Remember this lightsaber is very important. So work together as a team and make a team lightsaber. torchlight without the batteries (leaders to hold on to the batteries until the end of the programme) Time is precious. You will only be given 5 minutes. And the time starts now. Host 1 I think it is time. (in a very serious tone) Host 2 Time for? Host 1 Time to let them go through the different training courses to be skilled in W.A.R.S. Only then they can be qualified to become Jedi Knights. And they will also finally know the True Force behind it all. Host 2 Yes! It is time. Trainees, right now you will be make your way to the different stations in Jedi Academy. Dismiss groups to LP/different stations. Leaders take over

Station Games (W.A.R.S) Each station represents a value which we hope that the children will learn to shine in their schools. Groups will be allocated 20 minutes for each station (15 minutes for activity, 5 minutes for debrief, linking learning to back to school) Stations ( 2x per station Suntec, 3x per station LP) Station W: Willing - Willing to rise up to be different even if that makes you uncomfortable. Game: War Heads Leader s Script: Hello Jedi Trainees, for this station you will learn the first quality of a Jedi Knight: Willing. It is easy to say we are willing but when circumstances come, we might back out. As promising Jedi Knights in the making, I am sure you all can do it. Logistics/ Remarks Per station: 6 pairs of Stockings (re-usable for the same service) 5x stress balls 8x masking tapes (as obstacles) 1x table ( 4 masking tapes on each side of the table) Instructions: Stress ball will be placed inside the stocking beforehand Trainee will put stocking over the head (until the forehead) The aim of the game is for Trainee to knock down as many rolls of masking tape down the table as they can within 2 minutes. Trainees are given a choice if they are willing to participate in this activity

Debrief: How many of you find it uncomfortable to wear the stocking over your head? What made you all continue and persevere? (leaders can share their observations on how the children struggled but persevered) o Possible responses from the children: Because I need to go through this station to get the points, because others cheered me on, because I saw my group mates going through it etc It is not easy to knock down the masking tape and definitely doesn t look cool to wear a stocking over your head. But it is good to see how some of you/all of you are willing to go through it over and over again to accomplish the station. To shine for God, there could be situations that may be difficult and uncomfortable. (give examples of possible situations that may arise: learning to be a blessing to their friends; praying for them, to choose not to speak vulgarities even if your classmates are speaking etc) But we can choose to be that vessel for God to shine His light on us. Are you all willing to do so? Point System: Whole group s participation: 10 points Half group participation: 5 points Less than half the group: 0 point For every masking tape that gets hit down the table: 3 points Station A: Able - to be able by choosing to be trained in God's ways Game: Finger lifting Jedi Style Leader s Script: Hello Jedi Trainees, for this station you will learn the second quality of being a Jedi Knight: Able. We don t become Jedi Knights by doing nothing, but to achieve one, we must train and hone our skills. Are you ready for your mission? Per station: 1x Chair Refer to: ch?v=qz9inztlnjshave (for leader s reference only.)

Instruction: 4 persons to stand at the 4 corners of a person sitting on a chair. Let the 4 persons try to lift up the person using 2 index fingers (as shown in the video) in any ways they like After 3 trials, if they still couldn t lift up the person, station master can provide them with the tips. Let them know where to position their fingers (shoulder joint and knee joint) They will be able to lift up the person without too much effort. When they have lifted the person, guide them to put down the person at the same time in a co-ordinated manner. To ensure safety, the rest of the members who aren t participating will stand at the side to be on standby to support the member sitting down. Leaders, pls omit the Put hands on top of each other activity before the lifting. That activity is done so that the team of 4 is gets used to coordinating their actions together. Pls do not link this activity to any rituals or mystical acts. This activity can be explain by Physics. Debrief: Affirm children for their effort How many of you thought that it was an impossible task initially? What changed along the way? (leaders can share their observations on how the children improved as they practiced and have guidance from the leaders) Many things seemed impossible on the first thought. But through practice and guidance from the leaders, we are able to fulfil the task. What are the things you can do to be trained in God s ways? Point system: Lift up 1 child: 5 points Lift up 2-5 children: 10 points Lift up 6 or more children: 15 points Station R: Ready: to be ready in their heart to move forward for whatever challenges may come Game: War-ways Ready Leader s Script: Hello Jedi Trainees, for this station, you will learn the 3 rd quality of being a Jedi Knight: Ready. This station requires you to be ready and to listen very attentively. Are you Per station: Suntec: Black & White flags (12 black and 12 white flags) LP: Red and yellow lightsticks (12 red and 12 yellow per room; switch off lights in room when

ready? activity starts.) Instructions: Each trainee will be given 1 black and 1 white flag (for Suntec) or red and yellow lightsticks (for TC), each to be held on their left and right hand respectively. Trainees will need to listen attentively to the command given by their leader and be ready to respond to the commands. For each trainee that makes a mistake, he/she will be eliminated immediately. Then the station master will give commands from the beginning again. Commands for leaders to refer to: o Black flag, white flag both raise up (red stick, yellow stick both raise up) o Black flag down, white flag down (red stick down, yellow stick down) o Black flag up, white flag down (red stick up,yellow stick down) o Black flag goes down, white flag up (red stick goes up,yellow stick down) o Both flags down o Both flags up Debrief: Affirm their effort Was it easy to listen to the command and respond it correctly? (gather responses from the children) Ask the child who managed to survive the longest: How did you managed to last so long in the game? To be ready means to be focused and be accurate in our actions. But we cannot do that without knowing what we want to achieve. How can we be ready for God? (gather responses from the children) We can learn to be ready by learning to listen to Him, reading His word, so that we know what He wants us to do. Point System: After 5 minutes,100% of the group survived: 20 points 50% of the group survived: will get 10 points 20% of the group survived: 5 points None survived: try again

Station S: Steadfast - to persevere in the face of challenges and choose not to give up. Game: Toss War Leader s Script: Hello Jedi Trainees, for the next station, you will learn the final quality of being a Jedi Knight: Steadfast. One of the key characteristics of a Jedi Knight is not giving up easily in the face of challenges. For the next station, you will need to work together as a team and encourage each other along the way. Are you ready?! Per station: 12x paper cups 2x paper plates Per group: 12 sweets Instructions: Round 1 Have the group members start the game sitting an arms-length apart from each other. Each child holds a plastic cup. Give the first child one candy to start with. Place the paper plate an arm s length away from the last child in line. Each child must then toss a candy from their plastic cup to each other in a relay. Only one candy can be tossed at one time between two children. The last member in the relay has to toss the candy in his/her cup onto the paper plate. Repeat till they have done it successfully for 10 sweets. Change the last player for every relay so that everyone gets a chance to toss the candy to the paper plate. Round 2 After the first relay of candy, each child has to keep two arms length apart from the next person before they toss the next piece of candy. Repeat the same procedure listed above to pass the candy to the paper plate. For every candy that drops, they must remove one from the paper plate. This repeats until the team has maximum 20 pieces of candy on their paper plate. Debrief: Affirm their effort Was it easy to fulfil the goal to be 10 steps away from the paper plate? How does it feel to need to see your sweet being removed from the plate for each failed toss? What made all of you continue and not give up?

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Sometimes there may be situations in our life where the end reward seems near, but the road there is difficult and long. We need to learn to persevere in times like these, do not give up, and rise up to the challenge because when you do it for God's glory, He will bless you. Point System: Every sweet on plate: 1 point Graduation Ceremony Congratulations Jedi Trainees! All of you are now qualified as Jedi Knights! And as Jedi Knights, you can now shine W.A.R.S in your school, your family and to those around you. Do you remember what does W.A.R.S means? (Willing, Able, Ready, Steadfast) (Can give a brief recap of WARS and how they can apply it in their life/or can hear from them how they can shine WARS in their life/school). You are now trained in W.A.R.S so that you can shine like how the lightsaber lights up. Batteries for Torch light Pastor/TL to give the group prizes to the top 3 teams and the laser sword to ONE first time visitor. Background music But do you all realize something? That there isn t any light in our group s lightsaber. The battery is missing from the lightsaber. How can the lightsaber light up without the battery? (put battery into the torchlight) With the battery, the lightsaber is able to light up. And this is similar for us too. Just like how the lightsaber needs the battery to light up, we also need the One who truly gives light to first shine in us before we can shine. And He is God. In 1 John 1:5 it says: This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. God is light and in Him there is no darkness. And when we receive Him into our lives, He lights up our lives. So that we can shine for Him. That s the True Force. The Force who will be with us and light us up to live out W.A.R.S. On our own, we might get tired and may find it difficult to live out W.A.R.S. (give relevant examples) That is why we need to be connected to God s power to first light us up, and to press on to shine for Him.

Right now, we will have our graduation ceremony for all the Jedis. One child from your group will come to the front to represent each group, and you will hold the lightsaber. (Have the children stand in front of stage or on stage. Play Star Wars Music in the background.) Now, we are going to give you the power! (Each leader to help each child load batteries into the torch on stage.) See how it lights up! Remember that God is the ultimate true source of light for our lives as we shine for Him! Let s pray for God s light to shine in us first so that we can then shine for Him in our schools and daily lives. (Pray for all the children.) Well done everyone! Now we are going to reward those who did exceptionally well is Jedi Academy. (Give out prizes for 3 rd,2 nd and then 1 st ) We also want to give out a special laser sword to ONE of our new Jedi recruits. So if you are new with us, you stand a chance to be chosen. (Do lucky draw style. TL to ensure that all the names of the first-time visitors are in. ) (Let the children go back to their small groups for dismissal. The leaders in each small group can share WEG with the whole group.)
