8 Single Chip Combines CFR and DPD GC5325 Transmit Processor The GC5325 Sector Transmit Solution optimizes overall system cost and performance by combining the essential transmit signal processing elements in a single low-cost device: Improved MCPA efficiency via Crest Factor Reduction (CFR) Improved MCPA linearity using Digital Pre- Distortion (DPD) Key Features High Performance - significantly improves ACLR and increases PA efficiencies by correcting up to 7th order distortion non-linearities. High Integration - two transmit digital functions in a single device. This level of integration saves on PCB space as well as BOM costs. Flexible - incorporates a C6727 DSP to run the fully adaptive linearization algorithm. Complete Solution - evaluation system incorporates DSP and High Speed Analog technology.

9 GC5325 Transmit Solution Architecture Only TI can provide a full transmit solution including analog, RF, and DSP products to optimize MCPA cost, linearity and efficiency.

10 GC5325SEK Eases the Evaluation Process System level performance can be evaluated in the manufacturer s design with the easy-to-use GC5325 system evaluation kit (GC5325SEK). In addition, customers can save four man months of development time by leveraging the GC5325SEK architecture to implement their own design.

11 Summary The GC5325 is a highly integrated wideband transmit processor designed to improve the power amplifier efficiency and ACLR performance for cellular radio card designs. The GC5325 implements two critical transmit digital functions (CFR, DPD) in a single device. The GC5325 DPD linearization architecture reduces radio card design complexity, development time, implementation size, and overall bill-of-material (BOM) costs. The GC5325 solution is DSP-based and flexible. The GC5325 is suitable for multiple PA architectures as well as existing and emerging wireless standards. The GC5325SEK evaluation system offers fast time-to-market and reduced risk as part of a complete TI-supplied signal chain solution. Customers can have the easy-to-use GC5325SEK up and running in an hour.
