The manufacturer made a number of changes to the NV300 PSU Series, which include changes to critical components including an alternate fan, plus add additional output channels. These changes have been assessed to the requirements of IEC/EN , with results in BSI Report 249/ (SMT0148). Where possible, results have been extracted from the afore mentioned Report and used to compile this Report. Model NV-300, product code NVA30013B was submitted as a representative example of the changes made assessed in this submission. Where appropriate, results have been carried forward from the original BSI Report No 222/ /1 of 2 and included within this Report. 2. Within the General product information of this Report is a full description of the changes considered within the scope of this Report. A full listing of critical components is given within this Report, together with a complete list of Products Covered. 3. The submitted power supply was configured with inductor L3 positioned on the underside of the PCB, between the PCB and chassis. As submitted, the inductor was physically positioned across the barrier, Primary to Secondary (electrically a primary component). For the purposes of this submission, creepage and clearances distances reduced by the presence of this inductor were ignored. The client submitted drawings showing the inductor mounted on the component side of the board, together with other minor layout changes to allow position of the inductor. These changes were assessed as having no impact on creepage and clearance distance requirements.

4 Page 5 of 85 Report No. 222/ /2 of 2 General product information: The following has been extracted from BSI Report 249/ detailing the changes to the PSU. 1. Based on reference to and comparison with the NV300 range of power supply (BSI Report number 249/ Issue 2 (SMT0141)), only the clauses listed on page 3 were considered necessary to be addressed. 2. Clauses addressed are limited to those detailed under each item and were found to comply with the requirements of the standards listed above. No testing was found necessary unless detailed under the item concerned. 3. This product is Class 1 and must therefore have mounting points XP1 to XP5 (and XP1 to XP7 for global option models) connected to protective earth in the end use equipment and be professionally installed in accordance with the prevailing electrical wiring regulations and the safety standards covered herein. This Report includes the following new changes/additions: Add Sunon fan: thermals have been carried out and the locked rotor test. Addition, removal or data updated for various plastics in the resistance to fire table. Addition, removal or data updated to some critical components including PWBs and transformers: the transformers will be of the same type as the approved model with different numbers of turns for the different channel voltages. The currently used fan manufactured by ACT-RX is rated 12.7cfm, 12V, 240mA. Comparative heating tests have been conducted with the ACT-RX and Sunon fans. The locked rotor and thermal testing results have been included in this Report. The results show that the PSU runs cooler when the Sunon fan is fitted compared to ACT-RX fan. Except for the comparative tests, all the testing conducted for this Addendum was done with the Sunon fan fitted.

5 General product information (continued): Page 6 of 85 Report No. 222/ /2 of 2 2. Addition of New Channels Addition of new channel configurations as shown in the table below. These output changes are achieved by changes to TX2 and TX4 windings. These transformers are of the same construction as the existing transformers and only differ in the way some of the turns have been arranged. Channel 1 24V winding is TIW wire and not foil as in the 5V channel 1. Channel 1 12V winding is Litz TIW wire. Channel 2 to channel 4 outputs are similar to existing outputs with different surface mount components fitted to achieve the various outputs. All new channels have thermal protection provided by PTCs mounted on the PWB. These PTC s are relied on for safety. Channel 4 1A outputs are linear regulators. Assessment included the components, PWBs and their spacings to adjacent assemblies. Basic, Supplementary and Reinforced spacings have been assessed for compliance with the required spacings.
