1 QTMS The transformer monitor shall provide data integration platform, cooling supervision & monitoring. User configurable without need of a technician, a 100% configurable to specific customer requirement. Parameters to Monitor: The transformer monitor shall be fully capable of monitoring the key parameters of transformers such as pressure rises, temperature swings (ambient, oil, simulated winding and direct winding), liquid level, DGA gas formation and accumulation, partial discharges (PD) inside the transformer tank, capacitive bushing monitoring, Geomagnetically Induced Current (GIC), cooling system and Load Tap Changer (LTC) functionality. Analog Inputs: The transformer monitor shall be capable to be equipped with up to 112 analog inputs of all or in combination of the following sensor/signal options (8 inputs/module): RTD: 100 ohm platinum (Pt100); simulated winding temperature; Current: Clamp-on CT, 0-5A, - 10A, - 20A, -100A; DC Current Loops: 0-1 and 4-20 ma DC; DC voltage: mv DC and 0-10 VDC; AC Voltage: VAC and VAC; 50/60 Hz; Potentiometer: ,000 ohms; Dry Contact: Open/Closed; Switch contact: >80 V or >130 V open, jumper selectable; optically isolated; Tap Position: 0-1, 0-5, 0-10, , , VDC or non-powered; Resistor Bridges of ohm(1% acc, 100 ppm); or 0-1 madc or 4-20 madc. In addition the transformer monitor analog inputs shall be fully configurable by the user with the web-based software without the need of a factory technician. Output Relays: The transformer monitor system shall be capable provide up to 112 relay outputs (8 relays/module) for alarming signal, motor control (cooling system) or transformer trip. Every relay shall be FORM C and with a power rating of 10A@120/240VAC or 30VDC. The relays shall be 100% customer configurable and controlled by a signal matrix consisting of up to four control signals and three Boolean math functions. The relays of the Monitor shall have the ability to be bank switched or alternating control to allow even wear on the cooling system, adjust the controlling set point value due to ambient conditions, adjust the controlling set point value according to the seasonal date, pre-cool according to transformer loading in addition to actuating on winding temperature. The relay functions of the Monitor will be customer selectable to be either failsafe/non-failsafe; latching/non latching; actuation counter and manual/ or automatic control. It shall include the Rate of Change feature which shall allow the user to set a dynamic setpoint that will actuate due to a rate of change. In addition the transformer monitor relay outputs shall be fully configurable by the user with the web-based software without the need of a factory technician. Digital Inputs: The Transformer monitor shall be capable to be equipped with up to 196 digital inputs (14 input /module), each input shall have a threshold equal or greater than 90VDC and up to 250VDC, and in addition the transformer monitor digital inputs shall be fully configurable by the user with the webbased software without the need of a factory technician.
2 Bushing Monitor Input Module: The transformer monitor shall be capable to equipped with one module that connects up to 6 transformer bushing sensors/adaptors, the transformer monitor shall allow computing of the Power Factor % (or Tan δ) and capacitance in the transformer bushings (capacitive type bushings e.g. OIP, RIP, RBP, RIS, etc..) The transformer monitor system shall be able to compensate for temperature related changes in Power Factor % (or Tan δ) and must not give false alarm for changes caused by temperature rise into bushings. It shall also provide an alarm to the operator for any sudden changes in Power Factor % (or Tan δ) and Capacitance values but factor into the gradual changes in Tan δ and Capacitance. The transformer monitor measuring accuracy of the tan δ shall be better or equal to ± absolute value which is equal to ±0.1mrad in phase shift. The transformer monitor technology shall be based on the reference signal method. The transformer monitor shall be able to use voltage transformers as reference voltage source for each bushing. The Power Factr shall be measured as phase shift between the reference voltage signal and the leakage current. The following displays shall be provided: Power Factor % (or Tan δ) trend, Capacitance trend, Tan δ/ temperature gradient trend, leakage current & Busing Voltage. Partial Discharges: The transformer monitor shall be capable to receive data from UHF (Ultra High Frequency) based PD (Partial Discharge) monitoring systems. The transformer shall be equipped with UHF PD sensors or there must be a provision to install the UHF PD sensors. The provision could be either by fitting dielectric windows or suitable drawing valves on transformer tank. The transformer monitor online PD monitoring system shall be equipped with following key features: - Continuous real-time measurement and PD trend analysis; not multiplexed data collection. - Real time PD Analysis for changing conditions of transformer load, Load Tap Changer (LTC) - Supports up to 6 sensors per transformer - Fixed broadband monitoring (bandwidth >=1 GHz) - The PDM System shall be able to discriminate between partial discharge sources and external interference. - PDM system shall support Client-Server Interfaces including Alarms, Reports and Configuration options. - Ability to select standard and high resolution sampling, 8 or 10 bits and 64 or 256 samples per 50 or 60Hz power cycle.
3 - The PDM Supplier will have a proven history of operation at a minimum of five (5) independent substations, each for a minimum of two (2) years on UHF technology of PD measurement. - The System shall have a minimum signal sensitivity of -65dBm. Fiber Optics Module: The Transformer monitor shall be capable to receive up to 112 fiber optic inputs (up to 8 inputs/module), the fiber optics inputs sensors shall be based on the proven zero-drift wavelength-shift GaAs technology, oil immerse T2 type 200 µm all silica, PTFE Teflon jacketed, it shall have a reading range of -80 ⁰C to +250 ⁰C with a total system accuracy of ± 1 ⁰C. Dissolved Gas Analyzer: The transformer monitor shall be capable to communicate to Serveron TM8, TM3 & TM1 DGA s inherently without the need of further communication setting up, the DGA analysis should be based on Laboratory Grade Gas-Chromatography technology. Display: The transformer monitor display shall be for the local or swing panel mount (optional) provide visual measurements of real time read values, calculated values, simple. Shall have a Large Back-Lit LCD screen, 2 lines, 16 alphanumeric character, shall be able to provide clear information even in bright sunlight, and integrated overlay large buttons with tactile feel even with gloves, with test & reset buttons. Web Based Software: The transformer monitor shall be equipped with a web base platform user friendly for customization and easy of local or remote configuration, it shall not require PC software installation to interface with the transformer monitor. It also shall be capable of instantly module recognition in the event of module swapping or upgrade. Full transformer monitor navigation and configuration, input signal naming, visual mapping, display sensor online reading and full input signal simulation. Dashboard: The Transformer monitor shall have in the user interface a fully configurable dashboard where all measure and virtual values are shown. User Defined Mathematic Expressions Matrix: The Transformer Monitor shall be able to allow users to generate non-hard coded algorithms through the UI correlating functions and measured values from hard sensors or virtual sensors. Load Tap Changer (LTC) Monitor: The transformer monitor shall have inherently the LTC monitor feature for up to 3 Low Tap Changers. The LTC feature with the respective sensors shall be able to measure and record the tap counts for each individual tap position, the total run time on each tap in the load tap changer, the average make and break currents for each tap position. It shall be able to measure the steady state current of the load tap changer motor, the inrush current of the load tap changer motor. It shall be able to measure and record the load tap changer motor actuation counts, shall be able to measure the duration of the load tap changer motor actuation time, shall be able to detect and alarm if there are multiple tap movements for one tap actuation, shall be able to measure and alarm on a total tap count setpoint value, shall be able
4 to measure and alarm on a total tap position run time setpoint value, shall be able to measure and alarm on tap counts per tap period setpoint value. Cooling System Monitor: The transformer monitor shall have inherently a transformer cooling control and monitoring feature for up to 8 cooling banks. The transformer monitor shall be able to measure the cooling system steady state current, the cooling system inrush current, the number of actuations of the cooling system, the total run time of the cooling system, it shall have individual alarm setpoints and be field selectable as to which items will actuate the cooling system alarm Once the cooling system feature is configured and the sensors are installed the system will be able to automatically learn the cooling monitor system (maximum, minimum and average values of the inrush and steady state current values) and then display these values in the Setup web-based software. TransLife : The transformer monitor shall include the TransLife feature which provides a dashboard of critical information needed to effectively manage transformer operation, computes loss of asset life rate, life consumption and remaining asset life, critical forecast feature determines the time remaining until a critical, temperature is reached based on current conditions, provides separate TransLife monitoring for up to 8 windings, temperature Profiler feature provides the history of the transformer s Temperature. Paper Moisture: The monitor system shall have the model to estimate the moisture content in the insulation based on the moisture content in the oil, oil temperature, winding temperature (hot spot) and transformer load. The moisture sensor shall be integrated with the DGA monitoring package if purchased. Temperature for Bubble Evolution: The monitor shall have the model to estimate temperature at which the insulation will release moisture bubbles to the oil tank based on the total pressure, gas content of oil and percent by weight of moisture in paper. The moisture sensor, Ambient PT 100 RTD, oil PT100 RTD shall be integrated with the DGA (for 9 gases required) monitoring package if purchased. Simulations: the transformer monitor shall provide a simulation tool to investigate the transformer health and load capacity by changing the parameter e.g. ambient temperature, load current, oil temperature, winding temperature. It shall provide estimations of values such as: Current continuous overload capacity of the transformer, Emergency overloading time, Detection of over-voltage and over current & Life time consumption Communications Ports: The transformer monitor shall include the following communication ports: 10/100 Ethernet TX; RJ45 port; Serial Fiber Optic Port, ST connector; Serial Fiber Optic Port, ST connector; Ethernet FX, ST connector; RS485, 4-wire communications port; USB-A port; Display port for optional remote display. Communication Protocols: The transformer monitor system shall support all industry standard communication protocols DNP3.0, IEC 61850, and Modbus.
5 Third Party Device Integration Capability: The transformer monitor system shall be fully flexible to integrate third party monitoring systems from other manufactures using the industry typical protocols Modbus / IEC / DNP3.0 output. Data Logger: The transformer monitor shall have of up to 100 variables; store rates 1 minute to 24 hours; 32 parameters at 15 second capture rate for 90 days without overwriting with 4 Gigabytes memory space. Security Log: The transformer monitor shall have the inherited feature to log user and user actions recording changes made to the configuration. System shall provide, with password protection, access levels to different user groups being at least user level (only display all the information) and supervisor level (visualization, registration of users and supervisors, system settings) Smart Sub Integration: The transformer monitor shall be fully capable to integrate to the SmartSub platform. Universal Power Supply: The monitor shall be equipped with an universal power supply of VAC 50/60 Hz and VDC; <50 watts fuse 5.5 A/250V, that will provide 24 VDC to the CPU. The power supply shall be provided with the transformer monitor. Height Options and Mounting: The transformer monitor shall be optional sized for a 19 rack or panel mount with a 3U or 6U height. Technical Support: The device shall include a customer service technical support at no cost for the life of the product. Warranty: The transformer monitor shall include a factory 5 year warranty for complete replacement or partial module replacement on factory defects.
