Important instructions which must be considered before laying the carpet! Before laying the carpet, you need to decide what function the Underfloor box should perform, junction box (see Fig.1) or service box (see Fig.2), as this decision affects which end cover has to be fitted instead of the protective cover. This will determine where the floor covering is cut. Junction Box (Fig.1) For the junction box with SRU carpet protector frame, the entire area of the installation cover A is cut out of the carpet. A Insert of the final cover The final cover should only be fitted after the screed has hardened and the protection cover has been removed. Service Box (Fig.2) For the service box, only the area of the cover blanking plate B needs to be cut out of the carpet. When using the junction box insert ZES, the cutout corresponds to that for the service box (GES). The range includes cassettes with a center tube cord outlet for floors which are mopped and versions with a edge cord outlet for dry cleaned 1. 3 mm floors, plus blanking cassettes. They fulfil all the requirements of DIN VDE with respect to moisture protection and load-bearing capability. The narrow cassette frame fits flush with the floor covering after it is laid. The cables are protected and tread-proof, either by means of the edge cord outlet (for dry cleaned floors) or by means of a center tube cord outlet (for mopped floors). 14 14 Screed System CATALOGUE GROUP 30-EÜK - EÜK Screed-covered duct system Notes on using screed-covered duct systems in screed Screed work Screed As the duct system or part of the duct system serves as a binding pull gauge for the screed, the levelling must be agreed with the construction company. When applying the screed, the person laying the screed must carefully prepare, seal and pull away the screed around the junction boxes. Divider strips must not be used as the junction boxes can only achieve the robustness specified if they are joined directly to the screed. Using divider strips can damage the flooring. Duct UZD / UGD Concrete Insulation layer (cover) Insulation Important: Screed can be damaged by cracks. Do not put strain on adjacent systems and system components that are joined to the screed before the screed has hardened. Screeds, general. Under some circumstances, chemical or thermal strain can occur which means taking special additional measures to protect the installed systems (see e.g. VOB Part C (ATV), DIN 18353, Paragraph 3.1.8). Use in poured screeds When using screed-covered duct system in poured screeds, all the openings in the duct system must be sealed using appropriate means (e.g. using adhesive tape). Care should be taken to ensure that the sealing process does not create hollow areas between the components and the screed. Possible openings can be found, for example, at joints between ducts and connection lugs and vertical bends or to underfloor boxes UZD/UGD. The top connections, like the assembly protection cover and the assembly or blanking covers should be sealed using appropriate means. Aggressive screed (e.g. magnesia screed) With this screed, all metallic components which come into contact with the screed should be protected with an accredited corrosion protection agent based on epoxy resin (two coats). See also VOB Part C (ATV) DIN paragraph Use in poured asphalt Essentially, there are no restrictions with respect to the use of the installation duct system in poured asphalt. The following is deemed as the most practical approach to using the system in poured asphalt: a) Under no circumstances must the screedcovered ducts come into direct contact with the poured asphalt. The high installation temperature (approx. 250ºC) means that it is not impossible for metallic components to be deformed. b) The duct systems are laid on the raw floor and fixed in accordance with the fitting instructions. c) The duct routes are protected against heat shock using an appropriate layer of insulation (e.g. Fasoperl sheets or bitumen-coated corrugated cardboard). d) The box bodies do not require additional insulating strips. e) The poured asphalt is applied.

Trunking Cover Screed anchor When applying the screed it must be ensured that the concrete is forced into and around the side profile leaving no air gaps. Protective strips must not be applied to the trunking, preventing air Aluminium side profile Separation layer (cover) gaps, as the trunking systems can only achieve the strength and robustness specified if they are joined directly to the screed. Using protective strips can damage the flooring and reduce its robustness. Base section of Trunking Concrete Fixing Bracket Important: Screed can be damaged by cracks. Do not put strain on adjacent systems and system components that are joined to the screed before the screed has hardened. Screeds, general. Under some circumstances, chemical or thermal strain can occur which means taking special additional measures to protect the installed systems (see e.g. VOB Part C (ATV), DIN 18353, Paragraph 3.1.8). Use in poured screeds When using flush floor trunking systems in poured screed, all the openings in the duct system must be sealed using appropriate means (e.g. using adhesive tape). Care should be taken to ensure that the sealing process does not create hollow areas between the components and the screed. Possible openings can be found, for example, at joints between trunking units, at branches, additional units and end caps, and where the bottom section of the trunking meets the side profile. The tops of the channels side profiles and cover joints - should also be sealed using appropriate means. Aggressive screed (e.g. magnesia screed) With this screed, all metallic components that come into contact with the screed should be protected with an accredited corrosion protection agent based on epoxy resin (two coats). See also VOB Part C (ATV) DIN paragraph Use in poured asphalt Essentially, there are no restrictions with respect to the use of the installation trunking system in poured asphalt. The following is deemed as the most practical approach to using the system in poured asphalt: a) Under no circumstances must the trunking system come into direct contact with the poured asphalt (with the exception of the screed anchors). The high installation temperature (approx. 250ºC) means that it is not impossible for metallic components to be deformed. b) The trunking system is laid on the raw floor and fixed in accordance with the fitting instructions (fit the screed anchors at the points shown). c) An insulating strip of approx. 15 to 20 mm is applied to both sides of the trunking. d) The poured asphalt is applied. Once it has cooled, the insulating strip between the duct and the screed plate is removed and the gap is filled with an appropriate sealant (e.g. cold bitumen) so the surface is flush.

The various types of current are segregated from one another by means of partition walls. These installation units are available in various different sizes as a function of the number of installation devices to be fitted. They are generally fitted to junction boxes and trunking covers in which the appropriate holes have been made. Another option is to drill the trunking subsequently. However, it does not matter whether the floor is screed, stone tiles, wood, vinyl or carpet. The size of the trunking with the holes in is also irrelevant. Te li tanks have ground seals which prevent water getting into the underfloor trunking system when the floor is mopped. te li tanks must not be positioned in high-traffic areas and they must be arranged to fit with the furniture in the room. Care should be taken to ensure that they are placed as near as possible to or underneath the working equipment, so there is no risk of tripping over the casings and connecting cables. 52 52 Underfloor CATALOGUE GROUP 57-GES System 55 The underfloor system 55 enables electrical and data equipment to be fitted in floors with screed depths of 55 mm and above. Based on a flush floor service unit with a fixed height of 55 mm power socket outlets and data connection units which have been optimised to suit this application. The size of the flush floor service unit is sufficient to supply one or two office workplaces. Flush floor service unit for System 55 The flush floor service units have a metal device holder which is pre-fitted in the factory and into which the installation devices can be fitted directly. Installation devices Ackermann power socket outlets are mounted horizontally. They have their own strain-relief mechanism and a 105º angle of entry. Because of the restricted space, only connection cables with angled plugs can be used. Data connection sockets Because of the installation space available, only the connection sockets provided can be used: UAE, TAE and WAEG-U and WAEG6C-U connection units. Cable guidance The opening, flush floor trunking system OKA2 with nominal height of 40 mm + 30 mm levelling range is suitable for cable guidance. To keep the cable guidance area as small as possible, extension units that can be fitted on the side are also available (on request).
