4 Tips MA- arbetar liksom Westermo produkterna MA-, MM-, MA-7, MA-9, MA-6, RA-8, MD-, MD-, RD-8, MD-6 och LD-6 med linjegränssnittet RS-/8. RS-/8 är gränssnitt konstruerade för multidroppapplikationer. Då man kopplar upp en RS- alt. RS-8 förbindelse skall man tänka på att installera ett bussnät, d.v.s det får inte vara förgreningar på kablaget. För att få rätt kabelavslutning skall masteromvandlaren samt den sist anslutna enhetens mottagare termineras. Nedan visas multidroppinstallation med terminering i RS-8 (-tråds) och RS- (-tråds) kommunikation. Linjesändaren på MA- är endast aktiv då data mottages på RS- sidan. m det uppkommer något problem vid inkoppling av MA- kan lysdiodsindikeringarna vara till värdefull hjälp vid felsökning. - PWR: ndikerar att enheten är spänningssatt. - RD: ndikerar mottagen data på linjesidan. - DCD: fyrtrådsfallet lyser DCD kontinuerligt, i tvåtrådsfallet indikerar DCD samma som RD. - CTS: ndikerar samma som RTS. - RTS: ndikerar RTS signalen från inkopplad utrustning. - TD: ndikerar mottagen data på RS- sidan. Hints The MA- like other Westermo products (MA-, MM-, MA-7, MA-9, MA-6, RA-8, MD-, MD-, RD-8, MD-6 and LD-6) uses the RS-/8 interface. RS-/8 was designed for multidrop applications. When a system is installed it should form a bus structure (see diagrams). Star shaped networks should never be created, there are other Westermo products designed to work in star net applications. To correctly install, an RS-/8 network should be terminated at the correct points. The recommendation is to terminate the receiver on the master unit and the final bus slave unit. See diagrams for details of how this is done with RS-8 ( wire) and RS- ( wire). The line transmitter used in the MA- is activated by data received on the RS- interface, unlike conventional converters that rely on a control signal (e.g. RTS). f any problems do occur on set up of the MA-, the LED s will be helpful. - PWR: The unit has power. - RD: Data received on the RS-/8 interface. - DCD: Follows RD in two wire operation. Always active for four wire. - CTS: Follows RTS. - RTS: Status of RTS from the RS- interface. - TD: Data received on RS- interface.
