1 FED ALL CONTROL SURFACE POSITION WARNING : CHECK THAT THE LANDING GEAR GROUND SAFETIES INCLUDING WHEEL CHOCKS ARE IN POSITION. BEFORE APPLYING OR RELIEVING HYDRAULIC SYSTEM PRESSURE, MAKE CERTAIN THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE CONTROL SURFACES ARE CLEAR. BEFORE PRESSURIZING HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS, CHECK THAT ALL CONTROLS ARE SET TO CORRESPOND WITH THE ACTUAL POSITION OF THE SERVICES THEY OPERATE. BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH MAINTENANCE WORK ON OR NEAR MECHANICAL FLIGHT CONTROLS OR PRIMARY FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES, LANDING GEARS, ASSOCIATED DOORS OR ANY MOVING COMPONENT, MAKE CERTAIN THAT GROUND SAFETIES AND/OR WARNING NOTICES ARE IN CORRECT POSITION TO PREVENT INADVERTENT OPERATION OF CONTROLS. 2 C. Procedure (1) Job Set-Up (a) Energize the aircraft electrical network (Ref , P. Block 301 ). Make certain that electronics racks ventilation is correct. (e) (g) Connect hydraulic ground power unit and pressurize Green hydraulic system (Ref , P. Block 301 ). On SERVO CTL section of panel 428VU Make certain that G pushbutton switch is pressed (in) and legends are off. Make certain that rudder trim control system is in neutral. Make certain that flap and slat control lever is in 1st notch position. Make certain that SPEED BRAKE control lever is in RET notch position, ground spoiler function not preselected. Open, safety and tag the following circuit breakers : PANEL SERVICE IDENT. LOCATION 22VU RUD/TRIM/SLOW EFCU/TRANSDUCERS/NORM SUPPLY/ SPLR/6 & 7 CTL/SURF/POS 1CG 7CP 1CT 201/J26 702/P64 702/P68 (h) (j) (k) (l) (m) (n) Position access platform Open access doors 325BL and 313AL Install rigging pins 98A in cable quadrant and rigging pin 98A in variable stop lever. Make certain that selector switch on equipment is in STANDBY position and that sensitivity selector is in position O. Supply equipment with 28VDC. Remove connector of position transmitter to be adjusted and connect corresponding wire harness Page 2 of 19

3 D. Adjustment between transmitter and equipment connector ; make certain that connectors are correctly mated. (1) Adjustment of rudder position transmitter 10CT with zeroing equipment. (a) (e) Place equipment control switch in ON position - AIRCRAFT/28VDC and INT/26V 400 Hz indicator lights come on. Place selector switch in CONT SURF/POS TRANS position. Loosen transmitter body attachment nut. Place sensitivity selector in 30 position. Rotate transmitter body to position galvanometer pointer to zero. CAUTION : ROTATE TRANSMITTER GENTLY, USE OF EXCESSIVE FORCE WILL CAUSE BREAKAGE OF THE STOP PIN ON THE SPLINED SHAFT. Successively increase sensitivity by placing sensitivity selector in positions 15, 3 and 15', and adjust transmitter to zero at each position. Page 3 of 19

4 (g) (h) (j) (k) E. Close-Up At end of adjustment, pointer must remain in a ±15' range. Tighten position transmitter attaching clamps and safety with lockwire ; make certain that adjustment remains unchanged. Return sensitivity selector to zero and selector switch to STANDBY position. Place zeroing equipment control switch in OFF position. Disconnect equipment wire harness connector from transmitter and connect aircraft connector. (1) Remove power supply from equipment (2) Remove safety clips and tags and close circuit breakers. (3) Remove all rigging pins and locking tools. (4) Make certain that working area is clean and clear of tools and miscellaneous items of equipment. (5) Close access doors. (6) Remove safety barriers and access platforms. (7) Shut down pressurization of hydraulic system and disconnect hydraulic ground power cart. (8) De-energize the aircraft electrical network. 1. FED ,443, , Adjustment with Zeroing Equipment A. Open access doors 325BL and 313AL. Install rigging pins 98A in cable quadrant and rigging pin 98A in variable stop lever. D. Adjustment (1) Adjustment of rudder position transmitter 10CT without zeroing equipment. NOTE : Before connecting or disconnecting System Data Analog Converter 1WV rack, 90VU, open circuit breaker 1CT. Page 14 of 19

15 (a) Loosen attaching device and slowly turn transmitter body to set rudder pointers on ECAM scale to zero. Immobilize transmitter by tightening attaching device and safetying with lockwire. Remove System Data Analog Converter 1WV, rack 90VU. Using a 15VAC voltmeter (1/100 reading), measure voltage across contacts as per table below. TRANSMITTER CONNECTOR VAC.A VAC.B 10CT AE 9B and 9C 9A and 9C (e) When VAC.A = VAC.B with a difference 6/100VAC, transmitter is considered as adjusted. If necessary, adjust position transmitter as follows : - loosen screw securing transmitter. - gradually turn transmitter until VAC.A = VAC.B with a difference - 6/100 VAC. - tighten screw securing transmitter and safetying with lockwire. - repeat test to check values. E. Close-Up Connect System Data Analog Converter 1WV, rack 90VU. (g) Carry out functional test (Ref. Para 3). (h) If the rudder position transmitter has been removed : - do the check of the adjustment with the equipment during the next A-check (Ref. Para. 1), in order to avoid incorrect pick off installation (180 ). (1) Remove safety clips and tags and close circuit breakers. (2) Remove all rigging pins and locking tools. Page 15 of 19

16 (3) Make certain that working area is clean and clear of tools and miscellaneous items of equipment. (4) Close access doors. (5) Remove safety barriers and access platforms. FED 436 (6) Shut down pressurization of hydraulic system and disconnect hydraulic ground power cart. (7) De-energize the aircraft electrical network. (a) Position access platform. Open access doors 325BL and 313AL. D. Adjustment (1) Adjustment of rudder position transmitter 10CT without zeroing equipment. NOTE : (a) Before connecting or disconnecting System Data Analog Converter 1WV rack, 90VU, open circuit breaker 1CT. Loosen attaching device and slowly turn transmitter body to set rudder pointers on ECAM scale to zero. Immobilize transmitter by tightening attaching device and safetying with lockwire. (g) Carry out functional test (Ref. Para 3). (h) If the rudder position transmitter has been removed : - do the check of the adjustment with the equipment during the next A-check (Ref. Reason for the Job (1) On right ECAM display unit, check correct operation of pointer on FLT CTL page, RUD scale with respect to rudder deflections. B. Procedure (1) Job Set-Up (a) Energize the aircraft electrical network (Ref , P. Block 301 ). Make certain that electronics racks ventilation is correct. Pressurize hydraulic systems either : - using hydraulic ground power cart (Ref , P. Block 301 ) - or using Green auxiliary power (Ref , P. Block 301 ), Blue auxiliary power (Ref , P. Block 301 ) and Yellow auxiliary power (Ref , P. Block 301 ). (e) On SERVO CTL section of panel 428VU, make certain that G, B and Y pushbutton switches are pressed (in) and legends are off. On panel 11VU, on ECAM control panel, - press F/CTL pushbutton switch ; FLT CTL page appears on the right ECAM display unit. Make certain that the following circuit breakers are closed : PANEL SERVICE IDENT. LOCATION 21VU 22VU ARTF FEEL RUD/TRIM/ SLOW 1CG Line /J26 On RUD TRIM section of panel 408VU, - make certain RUD TRIM indicator is at zero. Page 18 of 19

19 (g) (h) Make certain that flap and slat control lever is in 1st notch position. Make certain that SPEED BRAKE control lever is in RET position, ground spoiler function not preselected. (2) Test ACTION RESULT Slowly operate LH pedal (LH turn) - On right ECAM display unit, on FLT CTL page, RUD pointer moves to the left mark. 2. Slowly operate RH pedal (RH turn) - On right ECAM display unit, on FLT CTL page, RUD pointer moves to the right mark. 3. Slowly return pedals to neutral position - RUD pointer returns to zero. (3) Close-up (a) Shut down pressurization of hydraulic systems. Where applicable, disconnect hydraulic ground power cart. De-energize the aircraft electrical network. (Ref , P. Block 301 ).
